This statue and the rescue it depicts are on the Ulken River in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The statue was created by Yerbosyn Meldibekov, a popular Kazakh artist.
In 2016, residents of Almaty formed a human chain to rescue a dog and its owner who had become trapped in a river. Ten years later, in March
[VD: a video featuring the 2026 unveiling of the statue described above. A crowd of people watch and cheer. It features a chain of four people descenting into a canal. The lowest of which is holding the collar of a dog. After the clip of the unveiling, a video is shown of the 2016 inspiring incident. A person descends the concrete slope of the canal into the shallow but fast flowing water. A dog stands in the middle of the water, near a lip which drops further down. The person grabs the collar of the dog to pull it toward the edge. Four more people, with assistance from a fifth, form a chain by holdings hands down the wall of the canal. Together with the person in the water, they pull each other and the dog up to safety. /end VD]
People in the notes have also described that the hand of the top most person in the statue chain extends beyond the barrier fence so that passers by can grab it. It is allegedly polished to a gold colour by frequent contact.
May we all receive good news in July.
May we all smile more in July.
May we all experience ease in July.
May we all worry less in July.
May we all get good sleep in July.
May we all choose ourselves in July.
everyone shut da fuck up this is the only thing that matters
Oh My God Damn
Praying that $1500 randomly comes to you when you need it the most this year.
Okay inflation is crazy.
We bumping up the price to $15,000 for 2026.
hey, you're okay. you're not a unique horrible bastion of suffering. you're just a person. it's going to be alright. take a deep breath. you are no more a burden than anyone else you care about. you have a place here. be well.
Happiness Will Come To You.
when tho
When You Least Expect It. Probably Late March
reblog for happiness to come for you in late march!
I reblogged this last year and I hung out with blink-182 backstage on March 30. Reblogging again because it worked the first time.
honestly, last year one of the best days of my life happened in late March
I’m really looking forward to late March!
forgive the version of you that didn’t know any better
forgive the version of yourself that knew better but did it anyway. forgive every version of yourself. we are constantly learning from our mistakes.
forgive the version of you that didn’t know what to do and could not have foreseen what the right choice was, if there even was one. forgive the version of you that made a choice and regretted it.
some of my crow friends :>
I drew up a big ol' batch of crows!! I'm planning to have these animals as characters in my final drawing for Perspective, so I needed to draw some to know what I was doing later. I'm very pleased with them!
I hope y'all like 'em too!
U may be fooled by my constant melancholia and generally pathetic state of being but take heart in knowing that i am trying unfathomably hard to live
friendly reminder that you didn’t waste your year. any moments of happiness or comfort, any small accomplishments, they all matter. this has been a really hard year, and simply surviving is something to be proud of.
so this is love
have compassion for yourself and for others. it seems hopeless but any small amount of good you can do is just that much more love in the world
