Hey so that was a great date, yeah, but I don't think it's going to work out. Nono you didn't do anything wrong, and I have indeed had a crush on you since we started high school, it's just... well, I didn't want to bring it up at the time but we kinda got sucked into a portal fantasy midway through. We saved the kingdom over and over, relying on our knowledge of and trust in each other every time, throwing ourselves into the firing line to protect each other and using each others' conviction as a rock. We got married and lived a happy life together until the portal sucked us back mid-battle and you gave up all your memories of our journey in order to save my life right when we ended up back in the coffee shop. Yeah that was when I got a bit weird and went to the bathroom.
Anyway I thought we could push on and make the date work but I have all of these memories of secrets that this you never chose to share, decisions that this you never made, and intimacies that this you never experienced. And it's kind of screwing with the vibe yeah. Also on the date it was really, blatantly clear that you're sixteen whereas I have memories of ruling a fantasy kingdom for thirty years so like... that's a problem all on its own. Anyway this you just feels more like a daughter to me. A daughter with the woman I gave my heart and soul to over and over and received like in return, only to lose her forever on the journey home. On the plus side I can definitely help you with your math homework now.
#what the fuck#this one was actually really very short why is it still like that what
The shorter it is, the more concentrated the what the fuck can be.
I can help you with your math homework because the fantasy world's magic system was based on calculus and I was a gifted mage, stop nitpicking.
Wanna read it.
You just did!
So this is not a plea for money. This is something that surprised me, and chatting with people on discord, they were unaware of as well.
Discovered last year I couldn’t look at my 2015 MacBook Air without it triggering nausea and migraines, and figured the screen died. Have been getting by on my phone, but concluded I really need a laptop again.
Saved up, realised I could afford a brand new MacBook Neo, and got one.
-And I couldn’t spend more than five minutes looking at the screen without massive eye strain, nausea, vertigo, and if I pushed it, I-need-to-lie-down-in-a-dark-room-for-hours migraines.
Looking up MacBook and Eyestrain explained what is going on. The liquid retina displays that Apple currently has uses Pulse Width Modulation or PWM. In order to give the screens a deeper depth of colour and contrast, PWM flickers between several hundred to thousand times a second.
And there is currently no way to turn it off. There are settings and apps to reduce it, but there is no way to stop the screen from flickering. Checked Apple forums, called Apple Support, and the time I could look at the screen kept shrinking. Got the laptop Tuesday, returned it Friday, today is Sunday and I’m still dealing with a vertigo migraine.
For MacBooks, it seems to vary on the computer model and the software it uses. In retrospect, the issue with my MacBook Air started after a major software update.
And it’s not just an Apple thing. Current Windows and Android screens do the same thing. There’s even a Reddit for people who are sensitive to PWM flickers to help find computers and screens that won’t trigger eyestrain and headaches.
So, yeah. This week has been a learning experience. But for those who are prone to headaches and migraines, this may be something to be aware of, cause I was not.
anyway,. back to your usual queue'd posts.
all stories need a part where the protagonists need to sneak into a gala or ball or other fancy event by wearing pretty clothes. this is more important then gay shit like arcs or conclusions

Reveals Delay for Umatani Gifting Fest: 2 gifts needed
Reveals for Umatani Gifting Fest have been delayed by another week, this time the target reveals date is June 15th.
For those unfamiliar with the event rules: The people who signed up were guaranteed a minimum of 2 gifts, but we currently have two participants missing two gifts each. You do not need to be signed up to post a gift for someone in the event! You can find the links to their requests below:
Koolkitty9 (Medium: Any | Fandoms: Boueibu Love, Crossover: Boueibu Love x Hetalia)
Deuterium51614 (Mediums: Fic, Art | Fandoms: Boueibu Love, Boueibu Haikara, Fairy Ranmaru)
You can find the rules for gift posting on the event's sticky post on Dreamwidth. But feel free to ask me any questions either here or on the designated questions post on Dreamwidth if you're unsure about something.
Even if you cannot make a gift yourself, it's greatly appreciated if you share the word about the event in the hopes it can reach someone who can make a gift!
book antics
(this is mine but i don't feel like putting it on the other account. it's my blog i can do what i want)
guy who plays albums on mute, it was never really about sound for him as much as feeling a sense of progression through a series of named durations
does anyone have a picture of that beautiful letter to the editorial in which a green lantern fan threatens them with exploding the hqs or something like that
It's so much better than just that
tbh a lot of my advice boils down to “hey you know that terrible horrible looming thing you’re doing your best to avoid and distract and escape as much as possible but no matter what you do it just keeps looming and looming and ruining your life”
“just, fuckign, run straight at it screaming.”
i needed this as a background
Trade offer:
For every group of 95 days worth of tweets that you back up from the Remote Host twitter into the shared GDrive, I will draw the Umatani character of your choice. (Boueibu, Robihachi, Fairy Ranmaru, Remohos, Gekkan Mousou Kagaku)
You can also request OCs and AUs for Umatani series.
If you back up two or more groups of 95 days, you can request ship art. I'll draw for any ship, even those I don't personally ship myself. I'm also willing to draw certain levels of NSFW.
This offer extends to those who have already started helping, because I'm thankful for your hard work.
Posting this again without all the extra tags:
Remote Host, the most obscure Umatani project of all, is ending on July 10th after five years...
...and I don't know if they're going to delete the Twitter account.
There are so many tweets with stories and art that aren't found anywhere else, and of course all standard ways of backing up Twitter don't work. I've tried a lot of them.
The only answer is to do it manually, but there are a lot of tweets, the first being posted on June 16, 2021 (despite the account being up since 2020).
It's possible to use the Twitter search to find tweets from a specific range of dates, which is what I've been doing to experiment with finding the very first tweet, so it's not like you need to scroll to the very end of the account's feed.
If there are nineteen of us, then we can each cover a range of 95 days.
And I know that sounds like a lot! But I did the math: nineteen of us means we will each get six groups of 15 days. Broken down like that, it's much more manageable, it's just that I can't do it alone. If there are more than nineteen of us, it'll also be broken down even further.
There is also no guarantee that every day within a range has any tweets, but there are some days that have a lot, such as when a big announcement comes out (like at the very start, 6/23/21 has all the cast announcements).
Some tweets also seem to be repeats, like links, but I think they should still be included for the sake of completion. And of course, any self-retweets can just be noted as such instead of having to copy the content again.
The method of backup would be to copy and paste the original Japanese text, any links, any hashtags, any images, and the timestamp into an assigned Google Doc.
I've made a folder on my Drive consisting of all the docs, and each is named for the range of dates, along with an instructions doc and a spreadsheet to keep track of what's been completed. I will share the folder in a reblog to this post.
We have less than a month to do this, so please claim a doc and start backing everything up!
Once everything is saved, then we'll be able to upload everything to the Umatani Fan Wiki at our leisure!
Here's the drive link! I've already completed the range of 6/15/21 - 9/18/21, all in this afternoon. So if we really work hard on it, we'll be able to get it all done before the series ends!

This is new???? Hello?????
I'm thinking, maybe after Yumoto's SP event is done, they'll take a short break before introducing this skin around July for En's birthday?
It says the 18th
Yeah, I hadn't opened the game yet when I replied lol

I also included a spreadsheet with all of the date groupings, as well as a short guide for how to find the tweets by date range, and the method of backing them up into your respective docs.
Good point about not tagging all the Umatani fandoms, I did it because the Remohos tag isn't active at all aside from my own posts 😅
I'll make some additional posts today with less tags to ensure everyone sees.
