So I’m thinking that Caduceus is either so imbued with the Wildmothers’ essence that his body pretty much functions like a plant or small eco system in its own right, which is why living in a corrupted forest and then travelling for a lot of time without sun is making him grey, pale, thin and now finally having an effect on his hair and lichen….

…. OR he’s an actual zombie grave cleric, kept alive by the lichen that grows on(in??) him, so focused on his task to serve the Wildmother that he hasn’t even realized he’s dead
