me collecting seeds: OHHHH seeds!! *tugs on resistant flower structure like a small child*
the robin wall kimmerer in my head: the seeds are not coming off because the plant is not done making them yet!! they are a gift and when they are ready and mature they'll come right off the plant because the plant will be ready to give them, which is important, because you're looking for mature seeds anyway. if you want to be successful in gathering things from nature for any purpose, you first need to ask and pay attention for an answer!!
