Reproductive rights and body autonomy are no fucking joke, and the patriarchy wants nothing more than to force them to be women. Cause, if people can just stop being women, if they can just be men, then the patriarchy has no real power.

The liberation of trans men is the final boss of the patriarchy, proof that people can be free to simply walk away from what it has assigned to them.

Liberating trans men is how we liberate us all; we have to stand with them, for our own survival just as much as theirs.

We can't lose them; I don't know why so many of my transfem sisters can't see how important transmasc people are, but know that if we lose them we are all damned.

If you won't stand with our transmasc siblings out of love, I frankly can't understand you; but if standing with them has to be selfish, then know that our only hope of being free to live our own lives rests with them just as much as us. Hey so you know how people always talk about transmasc erasure? Coming across that paper on Tumblr discourse on transandrophobia reminded me of something.

When I was doing my criminology degree, I went to several professors with several thesis ideas, and all of them were denied. These were all ideas based on transmasculine crime and victimology stats. Every professor shot down every thesis I had on ideas related to transmasc victims of various crimes.

Their reasoning? There's no need for this. This is useless. Nobody is interested in reading about trans men and transmascs being victims of crimes. They wouldn't even let me do my thesis on estimating more accurate stats on transmasculine victims of homicide. Which is an INCREDIBLY important thing!

So yeah. Next time someone talks about how trans men and transmascs aren't victims as much, remember this. Researchers don't want to research this. They won't allow people who want to do so, to do so. I couldn't get anyone to advise me on these papers.

Transmasc erasure is the reason I wasn’t able to transition earlier.

I got on T at 20 years old. This is not the first time I tried to transition. When I was 13, I went to a highly respected institution for transgender youth to get on puberty blockers and hormones. My two providers did not know what a trans man was. They offered me a side-clasp binder off amazon in the wrong size that fucked up my ribs because they gave me incorrect guidelines on how to wear it. They refused to put me on any medication until I could prove to them that I wasn’t just confused. They never put me on any medication and always told me that being a girl is hard and I couldn’t just run away.

These things have real consequences for real vulnerable people.

Hi I have an undergrad psych degree! I also have ADHD! In my motherfucking TEXTBOOK, the authors said, “Research describes ADHD as a neurodevelopmental disorder in the same vein as Autism. We are putting the (miniscule) section on ADHD in the same chapter as ODD, though, because we believe really these disorders both boil down to ✨️ people not doing what we tell them to because they are lazy✨️”

So my actual TEXTBOOK admitted that it was biased and teaching these disorders based on opinion and not up to date research. And, as described above, the section on ODD was basically just, “these are bad kids. We will not look into why or how or what comorbidities exist and we will also not be exploring the possibility of ODD really being a manifestation of trauma/undiagnosed adhd/autism/pathological demand avoidance/persistent drive for autonomy. We will however be mostly focusing on how annoying these kids are to their parents and teachers ✨️”

It’s fucking crazy. “Yeah we know lots of people with autism struggle to follow demands. They may either ignore/not register demands or have meltdowns when demands are placed. They may engage in physical aggression, verbal aggression, and property desctruction when directed to complete tasks or be exposed to uncomfortable sensory input. They may need to know the why behind demands and consequently argue with authority figures. They may be easily upset by sensory input or social interactions and have emotional outbursts when pushed beyond their limits. Some children with autism seek attention and may engage in maladaptive behaviors to elicit the attention of peers and caregivers if positive attention is not given freely/if they are ignored when behaving appropriately. The issue of trans women being sent to men's prisons isn't brought up as being a monstrous thing because of the misgendering, it's monstrous because we're sent there to be legally sex trafficked.

That's what V-coding is. That is why they are so adamant about sending trans women to men's prisons, because sex trafficking trans women within the men's prison system is an essential part of that system. Being misgendered by this isn't even an issue that's on our radar!
