has this joke been made yet? probably
Saw this and thought of sharing it because it is very beautiful
Once when I was in undergrad, someone described something as “problematic” in class and our professor was like, “That’s cool, but ‘problematic’ doesn’t really mean anything. It means that the thing you’re describing has a problem, and in and of itself that’s not bad. Art, especially, should always have problems, or else it’s not interesting and not art, either. It sounds like you’re trying to say that this is bad, but you don’t want to say ‘bad.’ Is that right?”
So from then on whenever one of us called something problematic, he would make us talk it out until we could name the “bad” thing we were hinting at. In this particular class, 7/10 it was some type of oppression, and the remainder was like, “I’m uncomfortable because this is very new/confusing/pushing boundaries that made me feel safe.”
Once we stopped calling things “problematic” and stopping at that, class got way more interesting and... we all had to say, like, “that’s racist” or “that’s misogynistic” or “ew capitalism gross” out loud, which a lot of us had never done in a classroom before. Or we had to be like, “Uhhh... I’m not sure what’s so bad?” and confront our own beliefs and that was maybe even more useful.
Anyway. Whenever I see the word problematic, I can’t help but think of this professor being like, “Good starting point, now let’s get specific.” I think when we have to commit to saying “that’s ___” it requires a lot more careful thought about the truth and impact and complexities of whatever we’re claiming. Sometimes there really is some bullshit afoot, and also sometimes it’s art, and it should be full of problems, because that’s what art is.
how it feels to message a friend who's having Problems that you can't do anything to help with.
"going out to get milk" is a common turn of phrase used to describe a man abandoning his family.
the "milkman" is a common figure in stories depicting a woman's infidelity and adulterous affair.
this implies that the ability to provide milk would both decrease the likelihood of a man abandoning his wife and children, as it would eliminate the need for leaving to get milk AND would secure that man's marriage, as his wife would have no need to seek milk from an extraneous source.
therefore, all men should produce milk, through various means such as:
- being a cow
- being an almond
- being a woman
- being a coconut
- being in the omegaverse
- being an oat
(list is exemplary and not finite)
in this essay, i will redefine the nuclear family and explain the seductive and inflammatory nature of the 1993 "Got Milk?" commercials.
you shut your mouth.
Executive dysfunction'd my way into building a whole d&d character level 10 wizard within like 6 hours of game time and getting so burned out on it that I kinda don't even want to play atp.

It is extremely rare that I get unintentionally rickrolled. It is extremely common that I look at a link and think to myself, that's a rickroll, and I click on it. Then I get to enjoy the satisfaction of being correct, as well as the entirety of Never Gonna Give You Up. That shit is a banger. If someone offers me a link directly to that song you think I'm not gonna take it? No. You know the rules and so do I. It's Astley time.
A while back there was a tiktok going “Ooo this is the best restaurant and I’m not telling you where it is ;) you’re going to have to guess ;)))”
And another guy stitched it with a whole breakdown of her most recent posts to go “The day before you posted this you posted another video saying you met this celebrity and he had just posted that he was in this city. You also posted a video in a hotel room and after searching up hotels in this city, we can tell it was this hotel because the wallpaper in your video matches the wallpaper in pictures on their website. By looking up restaurants by this hotel we can tell you went to this specific restaurant” and he was right
And people called him a creep, but I think we should take this as a moral lesson to lie about ourselves online more. I’m actually a talking dog and I live in a Montreal poutinerie
Honestly, not a creep because I don't see any other way to read that video other than her challenging people to find the restaurant. She posted how good it was, teased that she's gatekeeping it, then actively tells people to guess.
Ofc still a privacy issue that people need to be more conscious of, but she literally gave an open quest to find this place and someone did it.
Or maybe I'm too autistic to find a subtext that she didn't actually want people to make educated guesses.
Bruh when one of my friends finally sets up a Minecraft server to play on, it's immediately being enshittified by unnececary plug-ins.
No dude, we dont need a land claim system for a group of 15 people we all know. That's for public servers with hundreds of strangers. All you're doing by adding it here is making it clunkier to do anything collaborative.
And don't get me started on the insistence of a Block Vomit style for building large structures like the world spawn (which also doesn't need to be creative built with warps and shit)
Obsessed with the fact that, in a show that got away with a ton of gore, swearing, and innuendo for something rated tv-pg, they still managed to push the butt jokes to a point where someone had to step in and be like "ok that's too much ass"
Warframe regional chat is talking abt how horny/fucked up the kinks of the warframe community is, but like
My tenno in christ there's literally a Voreframe. It's the devs that are down bad, the community is the one being subjected to it lmao

Funny thing is, I put more care into that duct tape than the landlord puts into this shithole
