The man shoves Buck into the chair. Picking a hunting knife up from the tray, he points it at Eddie. “If you fight back or try to escape, I will slit his throat before you can even blink. Understand?” Buck’s eyes cut to Eddie, wide and fearful. Eddie shakes his head vehemently, but he already knows it’s pointless. Buck is going to endure whatever this sick fuck has planned for him because Eddie would do the exact same thing in his position if he thought there was the slightest chance it would spare Buck. Still, Eddie pleads with his eyes, trying to tap into their wordless communication that Buck should fight to get free, to not just sit there and take it. But Buck just stares back at him with grim determination, and Eddie feels his heart sink. Looking back at their captor, Buck nods. BTHB: forced to watch

So, it’s canon that Buck has thought about the possibility of being in love with Eddie, but ignores it because Eddie is straight. It’s also canon that Eddie feels and receives and gives the affection from and to Buck that he doesn’t identify as anything at all, because he’s too deep into it to see the big picture. Buck understands what people see when they look at him and Eddie. It doesn’t even register for Eddie as something to be aware of.

Buck knows that he and Eddie look like a couple to everyone else, but all Eddie knows is that he and Buck love each other. He doesn’t realize that the love he has for Buck is different than the love he has for say, Hen or Chimney, even though they could not be MORE different. The love he has for Buck is familiar, it’s devotional, it’s to-the-moon-and-back, it’s protective and absolute. It doesn’t ever cross his mind to question or reassess his relationship with Buck because Buck IS his extraordinary relationship, whether it’s romantic or not. He goes through his day to day life and if a partner ever gets inside the bubble, they are always secondary to Buck’s place in his life. It’s always Christopher—Buck—anyone else.

Buck sees it and rejects it, but Eddie accepts it and doesn’t see it. Completely opposing sides to the same soulmate relationship.

on this fine 9-1-1 season 9 finale day, id like to take a moment to remember my fondest fandom memories from this honestly insane season of my favorite procedural which started out with the promo of all time

we went to space which was co, though i am begging them to never do a four part opening ever again. we truly got some of the best eddie stills ever at the beginning of this season

and even better ones later on. when the crossover stills came out i had to sit down and they remain the most insane 911 stills ever

buck was almost in a throuple. eddie hasn’t looked at a woman in over a year. we had to wait a month to find out if chris was kidnappened and then so much happened in 9x11 which is now one of my favorite eps ever. we got bts of ryan and oliver filming without the rest of the cast in the desert for 5 days straight and speculated to hell and back about the one bed motel only to end up and the buddie roadtrip, which oliver spoiled on instagram just hours before the crossover as he was terrorizing everyone during his takeover

mothers boy ended up being an nde episode and it was so incredible. it was one of many new acts in the tragety that is evan buckley this season but it gave up the most amazing buddie scenes ever

the i got you babe and hearts and flowers title reveals sent me into a spiral and i got you babe did end up being about the donor baby. im just glad that it happened and its over so i dont have to worry about it anymore. and theo is so cute and i cant wait for him to officially join the buckley diaz family

what a wild ride and i can’t even imagine what’s in store for the finale. who know that a show could hit its stride and deliver one of its best seasons in season 9 after changing networks and killing off the main character. 9-1-1 you are a marvel
