my name is jonah — you can also feel free to call me jo. i'm 19; they/he; autistic. i work at a theater doing tech/assistant directing and such.

i'm not too picky about dni/dnf criteria. the big things i would mention as far as who i don't want following me are pro-israel/zionist, any category of prejudice (racism/sexism/homophobia/transphobia/xenophobia etc etc etc), maga, pro-ice, and/or harry potter fans (in any capacity — this includes marauders, this includes fanon, this includes jkr haters. however much you think you are an exception, you're not).

i don't generally post/reblog nsfw/nsft stuff a lot (other than jokes akin to like. "straight up jorkin' it") but if i do i will tag it so you won't see it if you have tags like that filtered. i might use the t-slur or f-slur from time to time. if i do, i'll tag those as well. generally speaking i do not mind minors following me — preferably like 16+ — and my blog is safe for minors, but if you're like. not even in high school yet, i would be more comfortable with you not following. again i'm not a huge stickler about dnf stuff because i simply cannot be bothered to gaf like that anymore, i'm just kind of putting that out there. also prob will not follow back if you don't have your age/age range stated somewhere on your profile just as a personal preference.

Dolly Parton could have been a billionaire 3 times over but actively chose to give her money away to cause after cause for charity. She was an incredible musician and artist but more importantly lived with compassion and kindness and with the drive to help those around her in every way she could. God I’m sad. The world lost one one of the greats today :(

watching my husband get diagnosed with and treated for sleep apnea over the last year was not the thing that radicalized me re: weight and healthcare but my goodness it has solidified my stances.

sleep apnea is more common in people who are fat.

society decided for some reason that this meant that being fat causes sleep apnea. its often difficult to get referrals for sleep apnea treatment if you are fat, because some PCPs will tell you try losing weight first.

turns out!! having untreated sleep apnea causes weight gain in a not-insignificant number of people. it also makes it fucking impossible for many people to lose weight.

my husband worked out the same amount before he got a cpap as he does now. there have been no major diet changes either. yet he has been losing weight -- and gaining muscle tone -- consistently since he started using a cpap in january.

also, his blood pressure -- which was high, which docs blamed on his weight/diet -- went down significantly within one month of starting cpap treatment, before his weight changed significantly.

ANYWAYS. this is getting long. two final thoughts.

- if you are exhausted constantly for "no reason", and especially if you snore, you should probably ask your doctor about getting tested for sleep apnea. it is extremely common -- estimates are around 1 in 10 people -- and is also wildly under-diagnosed. like, some estimates suggest that 80% of people with moderate-severe sleep apnea are undiagnosed.
