idk if this is a hot take or not so i won’t label it as one, but i don’t want cody turning heel or think he should in this feud with punk at all. would i be absolutely overjoyed and jump around in excitement if he did? absolutely, one of my favorite things about cody is his character work, especially his heel stuff on the indies and his first wwe run, but i honestly don’t think it’s needed in this feud. he can be a paranoid aggressive babyface without turning into the bad guy, i personally think that’s a way more interesting character dynamic than just using all of his paranoia about past friendships and letting it turn him into this angry bitter person. i also don’t think cody should turn heel until wwe have created the next top super babyface to take cody’s position, since imo there are wayyyyy too many heels across both main brands, and they’re not even close to doing that at this point. they need a top babyface to be their “face of the company”, continue to market things to the kiddos, and all that jazz, so they need to keep cody face at this moment
