My opinion about GO3 is irrelevant but can we celebrate one excellent thing that came out of this 10 years roller fucking coaster : David Tennant and Michael Sheen. The fact that this story brought them together, that they and their respective people love hanging out, love working together. There is love. Here they are holding hands on their lil chairs at the end of it all. They are fantastic actors. I hope there will be more pieces of media with them in the future.

After a week to process (and a thousand different, wonderful posts explaining all the things that are wrong), I think it all comes down to one simple thing, for me.

Good Omens is a comedy. And what that Finale delivered us was a tragic ending.

In a basic, human, narrative sense, it went completely against what we had a right to expect and need from an ending. When I woke up a week ago, the one thing I was sure of was that I was going to see the characters I love be happy in the end; the entire storytelling history of humankind promised that. Instead, everything was destroyed.

I wouldn't have minded too much if it was a well-told story where it seemed like that was the only option… But generally, I wonder whether it's the time to be edgy and turn a comfort comedy show into a tragedy, with what is going on in the world. In 2019, the conclusion was to not tear down the world and rather improve it, but in 2026, we come to the conclusion that it's better to restart the universe than continue with the current one?

Aaaaand…. In this rather emotional, Tennant-focused rollercoaster of a week, how about some fun with the Fourteenth Doctor, his boyfriend Christopher, and his best friend Donna?

This week, the Doctor meets Donna for coffee (or tea in his case), but spends half the time lost in his own daydreams, missing Christopher. Concerned, Donna comes up with a plan to try and distract him, helping him to find a healthier balance.

Meanwhile, the Doctor tries to learn how to use his washing machine. And that goes about as well as you might expect…

(And he’s still very excited about getting the right compost for his garden!)

It's very cute. I agree that the second one is clearly not a take (different cups, wrong hair and clothes for Michael), though my thought when I saw it was that they are practicing for the take, maybe figuring out how to do the handholding scene, Michael looking at their joint fingers could indicate that.

Obviously, it would be so cute if they just tend to hold hands between takes, and even if it was for practice, it's certainly interesting that they allowed it to be filmed and published...

So…

Last week, Christopher was finally able to meet the woman who was the first Heimdallsson, founding his family line in the eighteenth century. Later, the Doctor returned to his running club and discovered the power of sports drinks!

Chapter 14: The Heimdallsson Origin Story

This week, Christopher returns to work, and the Doctor struggles to handle being left alone at home. Can he sufficiently distract himself with research on appropriate soils and composts for his garden? Or will his body require something more… tangible?

David “eating” ice cream is certainly an interesting concept that absolutely provides a lot of fanfic material. If I read the article correctly, he managed to get the ice cream on his back, and I have to admit that, while funny, it doesn’t sound exactly hot to me (maybe it was a failed attempt at seduction/teasing…), so I am not sure to what extent/in what content I’ll use that specific scene. I am more thinking about topless David sitting on Michael’s lap eating ice cream (maybe that could be in the evening after filming) 😋

Anyways, I’ll get to writing David and ice cream, though I am rather busy with the Fourteenth Doctor and his lover, who is not Michael, for the next few weeks, so ice cream will have to wait. Also, there are distracting real-life things like my job that currently get into the way of writing.
