(The backstory might stray slightly from actual lore, but, again, it’s just my version of it for my Soulsona in particular. :3)
In a world Lighter than Light, after downloading a corrupted version of Undertale, [REDACTED] ended up trapped in the Void of her own computer, retaining very few memories of who she was before. After finally gathering the courage to look around, she encountered a strange entity who spoke in an even stranger language. But it was the only company she had. After who knows how long (time meant nothing in the Void), she learned how to communicate and understand him. He called himself “Gaster,” and he was utterly fascinated with her. He kept calling her “THE ANGEL” or whatnot, which just confused her more. Before long, Gaster shows her the world he observes, the one he was erased from. The Underground. And a human had finally fallen after so long. YOUR new Vessel…

Pacifist Ves: After completing the first Neutral and then the Pacifist route, Ves wanted to let Frisk live their life on the Surface after gaining a close and caring connection with them. She returns to the Void, where Gaster presents her with a Vessel of her own, only for it to go wrong when she tried possessing it, and she ends up controlling Kris instead. They’re just as confused as she is, but they can’t do anything about it. Ves observes everything she can as Kris, kinda sucks at dodging, and gets emotionally attached to the characters easily. She waits in the Void now to give Kris a break as she and Gaster wait for Chapter 5.
Snowgrave/Weird Route Ves: She was dissatisfied with the Pacifist end to Undertale. And with facing no consequences from RESETting… true humanity began to show through… She forced Frisk to RESET once again, making her Vessel kill everyone that they’d grown to love. After getting bored of going through who knows how many Genocide runs, she RESET one last time to go on a Pacifist run, and left Frisk to live the rest of their life in guilt for what they were forced to do… She returns to the Void once again, and Gaster has a sort of… fearful respect and admiration for her. They are essentially gods after all, so shouldn’t they be able to play with the worlds they control? Once again, he presents her with her own Vessel, but possessing it goes wrong, leading to possessing Kris. She’s disappointed that she can’t actually kill anyone, but she still goes on the worst route possible. And with Noelle… Noelle seems to be the perfect Vessel… unlike Kris… The Snowgrave/Weird Route is spent preparing Noelle to be Ves’s new puppet…

They/Them (forgive me if I slip up and say he/him. I tend to portray them as more masculine bc it feels more natural considering my… more religious upbringing, like how I portray Frisk and Chara as more feminine. They’re just my personal hcs so please don’t judge me TvT)

Pacifist Kris: Suddenly woke up one day without being able to control their own body. They hate Ves at first, but grow to… slightly tolerate her after a while. (She tries her best, Kris, give her a break; she doesn’t wanna be controlling you any more than you do :(). Ves heavily ships them and Noelle, but they’re most comfortable with Susie.
Snowgrave/Weird Route Kris: Puppet on strings. They hate her. They’re terrified of her. They let her possess them only so she can’t inhabit Noelle, but do they really have much of a choice anymore…?

Pacifist Noelle: Kris’s childhood best friend. She also seems to be the only one who notices that Kris is acting different (especially wondering why they have such a sudden interest in her again???) They haven’t talked much at all except in passing ever since Dess went missing. She still believes that Cyber City and the Dark World was just a dream.
OH MY GAAADDDDDD I PULLED AN ALL NIGHTER FOR TS halfway through drawing i was getting disappointed by the rendering but after a bit of messing around with the blending modes and lighting IT TURNED OUT RLLY GOOD I'M RLLY PROUD OF IT!!!!!! this is also inspired by dongdang's jane doe cover art ^_^ i originally wanted to add glass shards like in the og music video but my ibis was on its death bed so i didn't hhrhrhtjnf i locked tf in with this oh my god
more tailor gaster yayyyyy i've been contemplating whether or not i give him his own au or i should just let him remain a single character concept. we'll see ^^
