Well, it's 1/26/2023 and the pinned version of the post got wooshed away at some point last night. which is weird because it only has 1k notes compared to 45k.
if the original 45k one is still magically up when I get home around 8-9pm est I'm probably going to delete it (actually me doing it on purpose) because it's so defunct and no one actually checks for updates lol.

Celebrating Pride Month? Wrath Month? How about Solidarity and a love of nature?
Even if you've never heard about it before, Inaturalist.org is an amazing organization/program/app to track and document the natural world. They're even celebrating pride month by showcasing queer users!
Except paid staff of the forums are being aboslutely horrendous, and refuse to take down 2 posts that are transphobic that were posted in the dedicated forum thread for queer users that was supposed to be a supportive safe space for all queer identifies.
Want to help?
If your cis friends who literally say that trans people are freaks (their post was removed, but they changed their username and description
Go to this link above, and make an Inaturalist Forum account~
Then vote "no" on this poll
and then make a post in the thread expressing your disapointment in the inaturalist staff for how they have behaved in a transphobic incident.
All they had to do was remove 2 offensive, deliberately misgendering posts from the dedicated queer forum thread , and instead they have banned the victim of transphobia and turned it into a week long international incident of doubling down that "it's not technically hate speech if it hasn't been said yet"
check out @inaturalist-propaganda 's pinned post for details and context.
The iNaturalist staff have decided to prove, the day before Pride month begins, that iNaturalist's proclaimed acceptance of Queer people is just as performative as any other corporate that pridewashes.
They banned me from the forum for asking not to be misgendered by someone who is purposefully misgendering me and literally admitted that she knows it's wrong but she's going to do it okay.
The staff have done nothing but victim blame, tone police, and punish everyone for the bigotry of two people, which they refuse to remove from the thread.
Meanwhile, they've hidden posts by Trans and ally users who have called out the bigotry and criticized their reaction, and have, from their very first response, been treating our reaction to the bigotry as more aggressive and offensive and inappriate than the bigotry itself.
They literally are leaving the posts where I am purposefully misgendered up, but have hidden and removed my posts as well as the posts of other trans and ally users who have been criticizing their abhorrant behavior and asking for an apology.
According to the iNaturalist staff, asking someone not to misgender you is hate speech, but purposefully misgendering someone is not

Read this shit for yourself:
The original thread for LGBTQIA+ people, where the user Sedgequeen purposefully misgenders me multiple times, on purpose:
And here’s the parent company’s About Us section about diversity and inclusion so you can see for yourself that they're claiming to support Queer people and inclusivity:
If you have an iNaturalist account you can comment on the forums directly.
They literally just said that if we don’t want to be misgendered we can just leave.
Archived link because I know they’re gonna delete my response like they’re deleting all the posts that criticize them.
And you know what, at this point please just make an iNaturalist account with a throwaway email so you can comment directly in the forums.
Before, I didn’t want people making accounts just for this because I thought it’d be disrespectful, but this shit’s gone too far.
That was before they banned me for asking not to be misgendered.
If you don't want to make any posts or send any messages, please signal boost this post and share it on literally any social media you want. You don't even have to screenshot it, you can copy and paste the whole thing and just put it in quotation marks.
If you care about trans people, please help us call out this blatant bigotry on the part of the iNaturalist staff. Either by sending a message to the parent company, posting to the iNaturalist forum, sharing this post elsewhere on social media, or reblogging it here on tumblr!
Edit 6/1/23: You can also leave a 1 star review for the iNaturalist app, explaining that you are doing so because the staff are transmisic and would rather ban trans users and destroy all trust the community had for them than remove two specific posts purposefully misgendering a trans user, despite a dozen trans and ally users explaining over and over again why this is not okay.
there is no medical component to a trans kid transitioning
if a little trans boy comes out to his parents & is like 4 all youd do for his transition is cut his hair, buy a new wardrobe, & switch pronouns & possibly change names
no one is gonna put a little 4 year old on testosterone OR puberty blockers until theyre actually about to start puberty & then they give them a few years to really decide if they want to start hormones
a trans kid existing isnt “child abuse.”
child abuse is refusing to let your kid live their lives as they truly are & forcing them to present as a gender they arent
radfems who interact with this post will be blocked & your argument will not be read or even considered. i do not care about the opinion of a transphobe & my original post still stands.
a few years ago a kid in my preschool class transitioned socially and the only consequence was that as soon as her best friend discovered that changing your name is allowed she wanted to change hers to Detective
So stay with me here, but fun ballet fact: part of the reason you’re supposed to start ballet young is so you stretch and hold your joint in certain ways regularly enough that your body grows different. You know how men who do ballet look only sort of muscular but then like lift a whole ass person? Their muscles are trained to lie flat like that for flexibility, they don’t bulk up. Girl in your class who always stands in turnout? It’s likely not just habit, her joints probably sit like that now.
I started ballet when I was six and stopped after three years. I then took a break for three years, and came back and did jazz ballet (which has most of the same body mods but without turnout) and tap for another couple of years. And every physio who works on my body looks at my feet, hips and calves and goes “oh you danced”. I was never even flexible enough to do the splits, but you best believe I stand in turnout. I never went en pointe, but I’m 95% sure tap is the reason my feet have random spasms if I don’t take to them with a tennis ball once a week.
When I said I wanted to be a dancer at six years old, adults took that to mean I’d want certain permanent alterations to my body. Unlike with young trans kids, no one was looking to make sure I fully understood what I was getting into. And unlike with young trans kids, these changes were not reversible when I changed my mind. There wasn’t even a way to delay things to buy time (like puberty blockers), it was all or nothing. If I wanted to be a professional dancer, my normal ass joints were a ticking timebomb.
So like ~cis opinion~, but I really don’t have a lot of time for people getting feral about trans kids socially transitioning or going on blockers or even (when they’re old enough for it be relevant) hrt. Me “identifying” as a dancer at six years old was more physically impactful and less informed than if a six year old changed their name and grew their hair, but you don’t see any of the adults in my life getting accused of child abuse.

4/20/2023! I assume the good news got lost in all the weed memes, but here's another reason to celebrate 4/20 :) Obviously you can read the article above, but for accessibility and ease of spreading the information, here's the text of the article (with a few added paragraph breaks) :
San Francisco Board of Supervisors Unanimously Passes Resolution in Support of Digital Rights For Libraries.
In a stunning show of support for libraries, late yesterday afternoon the San Francisco Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to support a resolution backing the Internet Archive and the digital rights of all libraries.
Supervisor Connie Chan, whose district includes the Internet Archive, authored the legislation and brought the resolution before the Board. “At a time when we are seeing an increase in censorship and book bans across the country, we must move to preserve free access to information,” said Supervisor Chan. “I am proud to stand with the Internet Archive, our Richmond District neighbor, and digital libraries throughout the United States.”
What’s in the resolution?
The resolution is a powerful statement in support of libraries, beginning:
Resolution recognizing the irreplaceable public value of libraries, including online libraries like the Internet Archive, and the essential rights of all libraries to own, preserve, and lend both digital and print books to the residents of San Francisco and the wider public; supporting the Internet Archive and its public service mission; and urging the California State Legislature and the United States Congress to support digital rights for libraries, including controlled digital lending and the option for libraries to own their digital collections.
Before the vote, supporters rallied outside on the steps of City Hall. Joining Supervisor Chan on the steps were Brewster Kahle, Internet Archive; Cindy Cohn, Electronic Frontier Foundation; Chuck Roslof, Wikimedia Foundation; and author and activist Liz Henry.
“It’s a sad day that we have to be here to talk about the importance of maintaining access to information through libraries,” said Brewster Kahle, Digital Librarian of the Internet Archive. “We must stand firm in our commitment to providing Universal Access to All Knowledge.”
“The Internet Archive and its goal of universal access to all human knowledge represents the best of Technology.” said Cindy Cohn, Executive Director of the Electronic Frontier Foundation. “We must stand up for the privacy of our reading, the digital lending strategies that publishers want to promote violates our privacy and our ability to investigate freely.”
“The work of the Wikimedia Foundation centers around providing access to knowledge for all people, around the world.” said Chuck Roslof, Lead Counsel at the Wikimedia Foundation. “In this mission, Wikipedia doesn’t stand alone.
Libraries and archives play a critical role as part of our ecosystem of free knowledge, to ensure that all of us have access to reliable, accurate information about the world around us. The Internet Archive is the internet’s library, and it is an invaluable resource to Wikipedia editors and readers…”
Author and disability justice activist Liz Henry spoke about the importance of digital libraries from their experience as a wheelchair user.
“Access to digital lending from libraries and the Internet Archive is a critical lifeline for disabled people and seniors.” said Henry, going on to explain how they used the Internet Archive to research a brick that they found under their house during construction.
Using materials from the web, as well as digital books from the Internet Archive and San Francisco Public Library, Henry was able to determine that the brick, stamped C H for City Hall, was manufactured in the 1870s, and was part of the original City Hall structure, which burned down in the 1906 earthquake.
Henry completed their research while they were having mobility issues and limited to the house, underscoring the importance of digital access to library materials. You can read more about this fascinating discovery on Henry’s blog.
Many thanks to Supervisor Chan for being a strong advocate for libraries, and for making San Francisco the first municipality to codify the importance of digital libraries and controlled digital lending in a resolution. Many thanks as well to all the supporters who joined us on the steps and who submitted letters in support of the resolution.

like I know he somehow managed to convince tumblr that he just has zocd and was being unfairly targeted but he very much did draw scourge fucking tigerstar's gutted corpse lol
I debated whether or not to reblog this here, not because of my participation in the wc fandom but because this individual is still active in animal welfare spaces and - several years past - petblr had a massive problem with Tumblr having a thriving zoophile community that would try to engage with our blogs.
After discussion with friends in both the wc and petblr communities facing the same decision I decided to reblog the post and put together a more linear, cohesive explanation of the situation since OP has the evidence spread through a few different posts. I hope you don't mind my addition.
Standard disclaimer that I do not endorse sending hate, anonymous or otherwise, to users. I am not sharing this to antagonize the user, but because I believe strongly in curating your own online spaces and want you to be able to make an informed decision how to act to accommodate your personal comfort level - be that blocking, unfollowing, or taking no action at all.
Known Usernames: agro-carnist, angrysnakes, anthropophagiac [nsfw], elk-hound, elkhound36 [nsfw], minkpool.
Additional information will be posted under a read more both due to length and content.
First I'd like to establish a clear connection between the sfw Tumblr accounts and the nsfw Twitter accounts. We can see in the above screenshots that the user is named Matthias and 25 years of age.
Here we can confirm that agro-carnist is one of angrysnakes accounts.
We can see that this is consistent across his sfw accounts, and although some of them list him as 24 the birth date listed on his sfw Twitter puts him at 25 - which lines up with the age listed on the nsfw account.
As he goes by a different name on the elkhound36 account the connection is not as immediately obvious, but we can see here the same mistake in the listed age as well as the similarity in handle with his therian account.
He also linked to this account on the nsfw account we previously established belong to him, and the commission sheet available on angrysnakes and the commission post on elkhound36 display the same character - his wcsona - in the same style.
Now that we've established this is all the same person let's look into the cause for concern.
Following the reveal of a popular wc animator as having groomed and several other members of the community having been aware of the situation and remained silent, Matthias made the following post:
Warriors is a young adult series, parents rate it as being appropriate for 9+ and kids feel 10+ is an appropriate age to read it. Despite the large adult presence in the fandom - the first book was released just over 20 years ago, so many of us grew up on the series - it is still targeted towards a young audience, and instead of trying to push children out of the fandom we should be mindful of our actions within the fandom knowing their capacity to reach children.
Both of the roleplay servers I'm in are 18+ not because of the content but because the moderators are adult and are most comfortable in the presence of other adults. The content of these roleplays which gets shared to their respective Tumblrs generally isn't inappropriate for the target age of the series, on the chance they encounter it. Adults are allowed to enjoy their own spaces, but the priority should always be to ensure the fandom as a whole is a safe place for its target audience.
For those of you unaware - I wish I was among you - the term "anti" is shorthand for "anti-shipping," but is generally used more broadly to encompass people opposed to the positive or sexualized portrayal of incest, pedophilia, rape, and zoophilia in media. Those with opposite views may refer to themselves as "anti-anti" or "pro-ship."
We can see that this is not just a sociopolitical stance, but a defense of his own sexual interests. The character featured in the reblog above is Alois Trancy from Black Butler, who is 14. The Reed(whisker) and Hawk(frost) reblog is feral warrior cats nsfw, but I won't share the image for obvious reasons.
Not only does this individual indulge in - and spread - such content, but willfully creates it as well. This cannot be dismissed as out of financial necessity because he has expressed interest in the subject matter himself and creates similar content that was not paid for but a product of personal interest.
We're almost done, I promise - just give me a moment to bleach my eyes.
Alright, so let's say you've gotten this far through the post and you don't see the problem. Our opinions and morals on the subject don't align. There is another big problem, though, and I hope that most of us can agree this is a problem: Minors have access to this content and he interacts with minors from NSFW accounts.
At the time of this posting neither of the NSFW Twitter accounts are set to private, meaning the posts can be retweeted and spread of come upon in search. He uses the same warrior catsona, Minkpool, on the NSFW elkhound36 account as he does in his general sfw interactions with the community - his wc design blog even uses the URL minkpool!
So an individual trying to find more content or information on this character can easily stumble into... all of this.
He also routinely uses this nsfw account to interact with sfw accounts, meaning minors can easily find him through tags by sfw artists and such.
I've censored the username and identifying information to protect the minor in question. While the content in both of these images is sfw, the minor is directly interacted with through a nsfw blog which also contains nsfw images.
This is irresponsible behavior for any nsfw account, even those which don't display or associate with the extreme content featured throughout this post.
btw if you're interested in the edge chronicles, PLEASE look into them! they're really good. you should read them because:
they feature a guy who is literally called bungus
they tackle complex political issues like the horrors of war, how corporations take advantage of workers' rights, and other annoyingly relevant topics for a series mostly written in the 2000s
maugin, whose gender confuses everyone she meets, rarely speaks, has a truly devastating backstory, and, i kid you not, sets herself on fire to protect her crew
petty academics who fight and backstab a lot
a lot of violence, for some reason
the twilight woods, a forest which makes you immortal at the cost of your sanity
sky pirates! they use flight rocks (literally rocks that float) to keep their ships buoyant
wood that floats/smells/sings when burnt
bizarre weather phenomenons
the quint trilogy features a revenge spiral (uh oh!), frankenstein (double uh oh), and the invention of satan (ah fuck)
they're just overall very fun and have exceptional worldbuilding. and they may make you cry.
characters are regularly faced with the consequences of their actions
the world is dynamic and evolving, with distinct periods of history
each story was canonically first recorded by someone who probably wasn’t the protagonist and it’s fun to think about who wrote what
people who have been terrible generally get what’s coming to them eventally, and often gruesomely
absolute batshit worldbuilding including: crystallized lightning, the ability to fall up into the sky forever, pirannha tribbles, bloodthirsty trees, an entire genus of telepaths, a bogeyman who definitely won’t take an interest in you if you say his name a lot, prophetic clams, and literally everything to do with flight-based transportation
knights academic and librarian knights and the fact that the highest forms of education often involve going off on adventures and quests
an entire city built on a giant floating rock that’s tethered to the earth so it doesn’t fly away
people have names like Quintinius Verginix and Cowlquape Pentephraxis and Orbix Xaxis and…Twig
banderbears
everyone who’s commented about Chris Riddell’s illustrations is valid they’re fantastic
aight, since we’re here, here’s the most recent and most complete set
The Quint Saga: the prequel trilogy
The Twig Saga: I do recommend starting here, the first book is the shortest and this trilogy is your most effective introduction to the whole wild world of the edge
The Rook Saga: here’s where things start to get interesting
The Nate Saga: yes I know it’s one book, but it’s basically an entire trilogy mashed into a single volume and I love it
The Cade Saga: probably the least well known? as a lot of people who read the previous books as kids may not have kept up with the series past the first three trilogies or maybe The Immortals. but hoo boy. this sure goes places
other books: The Edge Chronicles Maps is really just a tiny booklet with a two-sided map poster folded up inside; The Lost Barkscrolls is a collection of (I think) four shorter stories that matches a previous edition of the series, but in the edition pictured above the stories have been separated and inserted into the chronologically relevant books; The Sky Chart is a final short story that only exists in digital format
Okay, did some digging. buckle up, because this already long post is about to become monstrously long.
(unfortunately, Tumblr's "readmore" system means if I put a read more here and then something happens to my blog in the future, everything under the readmore will be gone forever. So... I am very sorry for the long post. but hey, free, amazing books from the web archive amiright?
