I LOVE STARFLEET ACADEMY PLEASE TALK TO ME ABT STARFLEET ACADEMY!!
Hi everyone! Im doing a survey of Star Trek Preferences for a college assignment, if you could take a few minutes and answer some of these questions that would be great! All questions are optional
This is for a college research assignment, all answers are optional but would be appreciated.
PLEASE REBLOG
Also if youve already completed this survey, ive added a second section, if you wouldn't mind filling it in :)
Not sure what this says about me, but I instantly recognized the Agonyan in "A Space Adventure Hour" as the same actress who played the Edosian bartender in "Wedding Bell Blues" – Kira Guloien.
strange new worlds not even pretending about the indoor sets after disco had sonequa martin-green sprinting across icelandic wasteland or whatever the fuck is so goddamn funny
The Volume is the new version of the TOS Generic Planet With Rocky Surface stage and I love it. Oh, you're saying we have a bunch of scenes on a roughly flat ovoid area with a magnificent vista visible beyond where this flat-ish area clearly ends? Well I never!
OH COME ON!?! KENFORI? KEN FOREE! DAWN OF THE DEAD KEN FOREE?

I'm out of the Start Wreck Hot Take game, which is a relief, because ~Section 31~ was just. fucking. BORING. Michelle Yeoh—lifelong fan of the franchise who refused to take her foot out of the door, may we all be so lucky and tenacious—deserved a better finale/showcase than this. Discovery deserved a better epilogue/Silmarillion/writer's room recycling bin than this. (Rachel Garrett deserved a kiss, on the lips, from me.) There were maybe half a dozen cool ideas in there that should have been donated to Prodigy and/or Lower Decks, who would have executed them infinitely better. I mostly hate that all this effort was wasted on such a dollar-store nothingburger.
I'm not even mad it was bad—Star Trek is allowed to be bad—but I'm a little mad it wasn't at least bad in an interesting way. It's not even fun to make fun of! It was just... generic. It could have been an equally forgettable Star Wars movie with practically no changes. It might actually have made a half-decent Mass Effect movie, now that I think about it, so I guess I'm also annoyed it wasn't that either.
I don't know what the fuck's been going on over at Paramount, but I hope the upcoming merger knocks some sense and/or dollars into someone who can bring back those golden days of like two or three goddamn years ago when they were releasing shitloads of Star Trek and most of it was actually good.
Stepped up my Star Trek pin game significantly this week.
What I love about Beckett and Carol is that regardless of their very tense and fucked up relationship, Beckett is so so similar to her mom. Like Carol also gets frustrated with and complains about Starfleet command in a way that most of the other bridge crew don't. She shoots her mouth off during diplomatic missions and makes things worse because she wasn't thinking. She actively ignores regulations when she feels it's the right thing to do and leaves out important details when talking to the admirals in order to get away with things. Carol is obviously older and more experienced, so she shows more restraint and discipline than her daughter, but it doesn't take too much imagination to realize that she was probably exactly like Beckett when she was younger.
Mariner's apple feel right next to the god damn tree and it makes everything about their dynamic so much better.
"well, the premonition i'm having is us, old, and we sit on park benches, tripping teenagers on floaty things with our canes." "i'm better at it than you." "of course."

An introduction, of sorts.
Hey folks!
Not long ago, I conducted a poll to see if anyone would be interested in a Substack newsletter about my current projects — as well as opportunities for more in-depth Q&As about some of the cool things I’ve worked on like Star Trek: Prodigy, Trollhunters, and more.
The answer was a yes, so here it is!
Subscribe, read, and enjoy.
Oh, and I’d appreciate it if you’d give this a reblog here on Tumblr, if you’re so inclined. It would help me out as a start things up over there.
