Oh, I just saw it was on Revolutionary. My bad.

Yep! Thurlow has a lot of sympathy for the revolutionaries’ cause but doesn’t like how destructive and speciesist they are and cut ties when the revs asked them to destroy a ship carrying a load of Clay Men.

Also even without knowing a lot about what specifically the Liberation of Night is supposed to be (beyond ‘bizarre, scary, and supernatural’ from the glimpses they’ve had), they’re terrified of the possibility that the revolutionaries’ efforts will ensure the destruction of London instead of successfully liberating anybody from the horrors of Victorian capitalism or the injustices of the Masters’ autocratic regime. That started when they found out what happened to the Fourth City during the Affair of the Box storyline and nothing since then has been particularly reassuring news.

Why the half point on Zalty? Where is the other half? And what does "Zalty" represent in the first place?

Zeefaring desires, and probably also aptitude. Thurlow enjoys travelling by ship to strange and distant (or not-so-distant) places, is reasonably fond of being in charge of their ship, and is pretty decent at captaining, but doesn’t actually do it more than once in a while and doesn’t miss it much when in London.
