The hardest part isn't actually accepting that you need help, it's convincing someone to help you when you're broke, everyone around you is either busy or struggling to keep up with their own health issues, and the government would rather campaign to be allowed to kill you than spend money helping you
i think understanding the family as a system of ownership over both women and children will lead you to understand both misogyny and the oppression of children a lot better and also be able to draw informative parallels between both
It's so important to acknowledge the very real and sometimes truly horrible failings of the healthcare profession and the pharmaceutical industry while never ever ever letting them drive us into the arms of pseudoscientific bullshit. This is something I feel really strongly about.

Yeah, it's kind of funny that a lot of companies are now re-hiring junior programmers to save on LLM credits, but it's not surprising. From a pure line-goes-up perspective, working people to death is almost always better than automation. That isn't an indictment of LLMs in particular – it's just how this shit works.
Like, yeah, joke about the "self-driving car" service that turned out to be employing remote drivers in the Philippines if you want, but it's not only a tech grift; the fact of the matter is that even if the technology was there, making that guy in the Philippines pull sixteen-hour shifts with no bathroom breaks until he dies of a bladder infection is almost certainly cheaper than "real" AI would be, and that's the actual reason they do it. They wouldn't deliver on their promises even if they could.

Can’t go a day without seething in rage about how “Woke” was coined to discuss the pervasive nature of antiblack racism throughout all societies and got so fucking mangled by the white masses across all political spectrums that it practically doesn’t mean anything anymore. It’s almost a joke of itself.
During the height of the Ferguson protests, you’d see posts about how the system is designed to oppress the Black community and being unaware of how it operates is akin to being asleep, so you must stay Woke. (Woke as a term in the Black community actually has a long standing history but we’ll focus on this period of time for now). You have to keep your eyes open to the truth, that’s what it was about.
And now it’s used to discuss whether or not it’s woke for a brunette to wear jeans, or if using your turn signal is woke. It honestly makes me want to puke
its always helpful imo to remember theres a cis person with whatever problem you have as a trans person 9/10 times. theres a cis man as short as you, a cis woman as tall as you, with hands and feet as big or small as yours. theres a cis woman scared to go out without shaving twice a day, theres a cis man whos upset bc he will never grow a beard. theres a cis woman who worries her infertility makes her less of a woman, and theres a cis man feeling similarly about his lack of potency. theres cis women who dilate and cis men with phalloplasty. theres a cis man scared that painting his nails will make people think hes not really a man and a cis woman whos exhausted with spending hours grooming just so people treat her like she wants to be treated as a woman. they dont put it in the terms we do but theyre worried that these problems make them inadequate at the gender they want people to see them as. our patriarchal system has made the boxes were supposed to fit into so small and you arent alone in not fitting it--nobody really fits
