I had my phone interview!
I was getting a little nervous, because they normally call so early, and my interviewer didn’t call until 4:32. We talked for 13 minutes.
My interviewer’s name was Nina, and she was really nice. I wasn’t really nervous once I started talking to her because she was really relaxed and didn’t seem like she was pressuring me. I said “umm” a few times more than I would have liked, but overall felt like I answered the questions well. I was asked a couple of questions I wasn’t at all prepared for, so that threw me a bit, and I made some little jokes to shake off my nerves. But Nina had a sense of humor, and was very encouraging.
I had a couple of goals for my interview. For the “Are you comfortable…?” style questions, I wanted to elaborate on my answers rather than just answering yes/no. I wanted to get my personality across through my answers. And I wanted to seem confident in my experience.
Below the cut I’m going to put the questions I was asked in order and a bit of commentary about how I answered.

After that, I got to ask her some questions. I asked about her role, how she got there, and what she enjoyed the most about it. I asked if she had any reccomendations for classes to take for someone interested in working in recruiting. And then I made a location request, which she seemed happy to hear (from the sound of it, she used to work there).
