I really, really should.
i have so many hobbies and interests but each day the four horsemen (instant gratification, shortened attention span, procrastination, exhaustion) grab me by the throat and shake me until i collapse in my comfy bed
Fall (May prompts, 4)
Fall
There's a kind of rain that is weightless, too weightless even to fall.
Don't be fooled. It'll soak you through nonetheless.
It will drift into the minuscule spaces between every fiber on your body. It will soak into every cell of your skin and eyes and heart. It will permeate you and become you and you'll never get dry and you'll never warm up.
Some tears are weightless, too weightless even to fall.
But they'll saturate you and weigh you down, heart, mind, body, spirit. You'll be sodden and solid with them, unable to move or speak. They'll choke you and press you into the dark, and you may never come out.
Sherlock is gone, John. Let the tears fall. Say the words. They'll kill you if you don't.

Thanks for reblogging! More John's-eye-view in a few.
@calaisreno, thank you for the May prompt series. 🤍 Writers, I'd love to be tagged on ALL May prompt fics 🙏
(I'm tagging in the comments as tumblr is being volatile. Let me know if you'd like to be tagged or if you hate to be tagged.)

“Maybe home is nothing but two arms holding you tight when you’re at your worst.”

Without "maybe"
“Admit it. You aren’t like them. You’re not even close. You may occasionally dress yourself up as one of them, watch the same mindless television shows as they do, maybe even eat the same fast food sometimes. But it seems that the more you try to fit in, the more you feel like an outsider…”

I have already lost touch with a couple of people I used to be.

I actually have.

i love reading sad books bc when your own grief is stopped up inside you like a clogged drain you can grieve for a character on a page and understand that you're also grieving for yourself a little bit
‘There is a theory that watching unbearable stories about other people lost in grief and rage is good for you—may cleanse you of your darkness. Do you want to go down to the pits of yourself all alone? Not much. What if an actor could do it for you? Isn’t that why they are called actors? They act for you. You sacrifice them to action. And this sacrifice is a mode of deepest intimacy of you with your own life. Within it you watch [yourself] act out the present or possible organization of your nature. You can be aware of your own awareness of this nature as you never are at the moment of experience. The actor, by reiterating you, sacrifices a moment of his own life in order to give you a story of yours.’
-Anne Carson, ‘Grief Lessons: Four Plays By Euripides’

accepting that you’re objectively weird & owning it is infinitely better than being constantly desperate to appear normal to people who don’t even matter to you
#weird
And some people will never mature.
Reblog if you are 100% okay with a transgender person correcting you if you accidentally misgender them or use their dead name.
please do!!
Of course I am!
Maybe recovering doesn’t necessarily mean you come back to who you were, but you become someone new. Maybe you find a new sense of self. Maybe you like this version better. Maybe you feel like you improved as a person, in a new direction that you didn’t expect to go. Healing comes in different ways, but I hope it works out for you, and that you feel comfortable in your own skin and that you can cope better with any challenges that may come.
