//Okays - ello - I live. I have three drafts over on oc's I wanna get done so that I'm up to 2024. Then I'll try and get somethings done here hopefully? I'm gonna be attempting to catch up a little in ff14 though too soooo if I don't get to things until tomorrow plz forgive me <3 I have so many games to catch up in ahhhhhhhhh Doctors went okay? They gave me new antibiotics and one of the side effects is I've now to avoid direct sunlight, which is perfectly fine for my chronically at home ass lol I am now depressed dracula \o/ I also restart my B12 injections next week so hopefully that will help with the energy issues -_- Ahhh gotta love this body at times. Anyways poke me if you need me /o/

The small woman lays beside her boyfriend on the comfortable couch. One of her arms is wrapped delicately around Saeran, holding his body close to hers as they snuggle in the living room. A film can be heard playing on the television in the background and it is a film she is seeing for the first time.

Soft blue eyes gaze at her boyfriend with all the love in the world. Nothing he did caused his mother or Rika to treat him the way they did. Why couldn't he see that? "N-No - N-No child - no person - should have to go through any of that. The p-p-pain, the abuse, the trauma - none of it. Wh-What you were subjected to - it is not a fault of your own." she replies.

She sighs softly, thinking about her high school years and how she was tormented and ignored by many her classmates. Lenny put up with the taunts, the teasing, and physical abuse at the hands of her bullies. The blonde choosing not to fight back or stick up for herself, as conflict is something she's always hated.

Later on, she came to realize everybody had a reason for doing the things they did. And now, she does not hold any ill will towards the classmates who bullied her back then.

"Those who hurt us do so because, they are unhappy. S-Some people th-think --- it will make them feel better about themselves. Instead, it j-just uh, makes them feel worse. At least um, th-that is how I look at it." she says.

Lenny presses a soft kiss against Saeran's cheek. Blue eyes catch a glance at the television for a moment, then she looks back at her boyfriend.

Hurt them because they were unhappy? Maybe. His mother had seemed more angry than sad, but Rika had lost her light, had lost everything that she'd held dear and had chosen to drag him down with her. Could it really be said though, that he carried no blame whatsoever? If he hadn't clung so tightly, then so much hardship could have been avoided.

"I was too weak, I still am", he muttered softly. He wasn't after any pity, he was simply just attempting to understand how Lenny saw the world and how it could be so different from his own. This girl had opened his heart in a way that was both scary and comforting. There was no one else that he would lay here with and admit these thoughts to.

"Sometimes, in order to change, you have to go through the darkness", he muttered lightly, almost able to hear Rika's voice as he spoke, "Light cannot exist without the dark - heeh. Just thinking on that now I realise how weird it sounds...but there was still some truth to it, wasn't there?". He closed his eyes, a small shrug given.

Miran threw an angry gaze into Fyodor's direction, before her focus went back to their son, “Your clown startled him. Of course he cries so much.”.

But what was she expecting from her husband anyway — it wasn't like he seemed to understand the normal feelings of a person or care much about it. So of course she had no hopes that the man with raven hair understood their little son, who just kept wailing in his mother's arms as if he just witnessed something truly terrifying. Truth to be told, she often found herself startled by the rats as well.

The blonde tried everything in order to calm Juan, but there was little she could currently do.

"How about you just leave us alone for a moment? Surely you have other things to tend to rather than watching your son cry.".

His clown? Of course he knew who she spoke of but to think that had been enough to startle the child to this degree. Babies were far too loud and needed too much attention, but at least Miran seemed to know what their son needed, though the crying didn't seem to be letting up any. "I'll have a word with them - no one wants to deal with this noise any longer than they need to", he raised to his feet and headed towards the door of the study, "Get him settled. Then we need to talk. Meet me in the drawing room once you've finished".

Well, she hadn't thought that far ahead! But this kid had to be around her age, or even younger, and yet they wanted to just go out there and fight against those monsters!? Was there anyone in this city that was normal? "I don't know", she hissed, annoyed that she had to admit just how clueless she was. They needed to get somewhere safe, somewhere that vampires couldn't follow. If she thought about what she knew about vampires... "...what if we got outside? Aren't they supposed to be unable to go in the sun?". She felt rather stupid saying such, as who knew if these monsters even functioned in that same way - but it was better than fighting or hiding and waiting to be eaten! "We go to the roof - I doubt many will be up there anyway".

Pale shoulders dropped at the voice. And the presence. "It is..." she acknowledged from beneath the hand fan she'd been practically hiding behind for most of the party, nervous irritation barely concealed from her tone. She only slightly turned to look at the demon now towering over her, not that he could really help that matter, given the height he'd chosen for himself - even with the heels she was currently wearing. And she'd just grown confident in her strategies to slip through this night in the aristocracy's world without too much trouble.

Well... relatively confident, that is. Standing there in borrowed gown and finery, she could hardly feel more brutally... visible. The woman felt like some exotic beast hauled in for the opulent revelers to gawk at with every eye she saw turned her way. Was it her hair? it had to be her hair... "Might there be a particular reason the Earl has graced us with his presence tonight- ?" She paused to eye the approach of yet another aspiring dance partner, only for the man to 'mysteriously' appear to grow nervous and detour away from her. She did hate using the supernatural in such a way, but desperate times... "...or simply keeping up appearances?"

He couldn't help but to chuckle at her obvious discomfort. He could easily keep an eye on the Earl from here, while taking the time to enjoy the pleasant company he had happened to spy upon, a smile gracing his features as he studied her appearance. So very different from how he usually seen her - he had to wonder if they had come here for the same type of entertainment. "Master is here on the Queen's orders", was all he decided to share, glancing at the dancefloor for a fraction of a second, before turning to Esie, lips curving at the corners as he held a gloved hand towards her.

"Appearances must be kept. Allow me to have this dance, My Lady".

Her already confused gaze sharpened slightly at the young man's question, shifting towards where he'd indicated. She lifted her lantern higher, casting its light as far into the trees as she could, senses probing for any sign of danger. She could at least be sure there was nothing infernal in the area - well, other than the obvious up at the Phantomhive manor - but that didn't mean there weren't occasionally other threats that could befall wayward youths in these woods. Along with the usual dangers of lurking thieves and criminals, she'd even heard of escaped baiting bears turning up here and there. But thankfully, the light fell upon no such degenerates or tragic beasts. Instead, a simple fox was seen beating a hasty retreat upon being revealed - the most likely culprit of the unsettling movement he'd seen. "He's as curious as I am at finding someone out here at nightfall, no doubt. What are you doing, might I ask?" She inquired, as much concern as bewilderment coloring the words. "You've.. not come down from the manor, have you?" It was the best and only guess she had, given his fine clothing and jewelry... some visiting envoy perhaps?

Oh! What type of creature had that been? The light had been too limited for him to make it out clearly, instead just seeing the back of it's bushy tail as it hurried away out of sight. Least it hadn't been anything scary - though he was rather surprised to find someone else out here this late at night. If she was a member of staff, would he be lectured for having wandered out for a stroll? "I simply wanted some air. Things were getting too serious inside", he frowned as he glanced back in the direction of the manor. He should head back before his absence was noticed he guessed, but he'd been curious about what laid outside the manor too, "Ah, so yes, I came from the manor", he admitted with a shy laugh, rubbing the back of his neck nervously, "Are you going to be okay though? Are you from there too?"

Her brow creased slightly at the irritable response. She was doing no such thing, but she supposed that's what she got for trying to offer support to someone like.. well.. him. The event they were now returning from had been forced to a distressing end, there was no way around that. But she was also fairly sure the crisis couldn't have been managed better than it was. The sort of trampling common to panicked crowds of similar size had been avoided with careful routing and solid suspects of the hacking responsible had already been identified. Even she'd expected a far worse outcome in the moment. But she should've also known by now that there was no calming her employer down after something like this, not entirely, at least.

"Apologies. that was not my intention." She conceded hollowly, turning her eyes to the raindrops streaking along outside the car window, and wondering idly if he'd break another sleep deprivation record over systematically destroying those responsible for this trespass.

He was irritated after the events of that evening, which may be the reason as to why he was being so sharp even though she'd been able to help and save the entire night. He stared outside as the car crawled through the traffic, his mind already full of the work that he would now need to do when he got back home. Just once could things go as planned? "I want you to pull up the names of everyone that was involved in that scuffle. I'll take care of the rest - they may have been trying to divert attention from the hacking that was happening...fools". How could anyone inside this city, no anyone at all, think they could defeat his security systems? Even if only the first layer had been breached, as was by design, he was still beyond irritated. He would find out all that were involved and just what they may have been after.

Of course the detective was the type to ignore an illness when it was beginning to take hold. Nothing could be simple when it came to this man - and Akira had been willing to carry him back to the cafe if the need had there. His temperature had been rather alarming, that he'd half thought about taking him straight to Takemi, but those two interacting felt like another source for an additional headache.

"Do you enjoy being this stubborn?", he sighed, trying not to let it show just how relieved he was as his rival finally climbed into the bed, "You're lucky I was on that train", he finished as he stormed off back down the stairs, Morgana poking his head out from his bag and gazing at Akechi in confusion.

"Here", Akira sighed, pulling a stool over to sit by the bed as he handed over the glass of water, "This will help. Take these too", he added, passing him two tablet, "It'll help drop that fever".

"It would be rude to dismiss a gift - besides I don't know if I do like it yet or not". He was worried that he may have made the other uncomfortable, though he couldn't understand what about their conversation may have caused any confusion. Was there something about the gift of this candy that he was perhaps missing? Maybe Klee would be the one to ask about such things - he knew she enjoyed her sweets. Reaching out, he pulled one of the sticks, examining the colour for a moment, before biting a small section off, "Indeed - it does match my hair. Thankfully though, the taste is a lot better".

Sometimes he could forget the circumstances of the child that he spoke of. It wasn't as though over the top violence from a child was anything new to him either - he'd been rather...reckless as a child himself, but he still found himself a little unsure on how to handle someone that he cared for, being so darn destructive in nature. Port Mafia really had a lot to answer for. "Maybe one or two", he smirked ever so slightly, leaning up to accept the offered candy, "Honestly, I was trying to avoid more fighting though - so injuring them too much might just lead to even more...I hate this city at times". Despite his words he let out a bitter laugh. He may hate the place, but that didn't stop him from staying here, did it?

Well, if he'd been hoping that their answer would help improve him mood any, he was to be mistaken, Shirase frowning as he leaned against the nearest wall for support, "...you do all that work for that bastard and he just locks you back up again? What the fuck is the point in that?". He shook his head slightly. There had to be some kind of way to get them away from this place.

Having absorbed all this light... It's too much. What was she thinking? Why did she agree it was a good idea? Was it because of everyone thought due to Hydaelyn's blessing she could handle it? Here she is having to relax while everyone else scurries around to find a way to help her. She feels useless lounging around.

One would think that with all the relaxation she's been told to do, she'd feel less tired. But the truth is, she was completely drained, especially after any battle. But she still wanted to assist her friends in this endeavor.

"But all I've been doing the past few days is sleeping." She objects as she is already being guided towards her chambers in the Crystarium. It's a tad irritating to be told to always rest. Each time it's happened, light begins to crack in her skin. Especially from the scar across her chest. "I want to help. Let me help. It's me you're all looking for a 'cure' for. I should be involved."

As soon as she got annoyed, the light started to build up inside her and caused a few fractures on her skin, causing her to lurch forward in pain. That draining feeling washed over her again. Now accepting the need for more rest. "Okay, you're right. I need to rest." She reaches out for some leverage, anything to help her stand up straight again. "Will you help me get back to my room?"

It pained him to see her have to suffer like this - but soon enough he would free her from this burden. Still, asking her to hang on for just a little longer still felt cruel, so he was glad when she finally gave in and agreed that more rest was what was needed. He was one to talk, of course. Whenever he made it back to his own chambers he knew that he was in for the lecture of a lifetime for being gone for as long as he had - but this was his fault. His dearest friend was in a world of pain because of him.

This was the very least he could do to help aid her.

"You have been helping. Look at all that you have already acheived. But you know as well as I do that to burn out now will only lead to all that effort going to waste". He hoped he didn't sound too cold as he wrapped an arm gently around her shoulders, "Lean on me if you have the need to".

And he meant that in more ways than he could ever express. All he could do was hope that one day she'd be able to forgive him for all that he had caused her to go through.
