This is my third and final (for now) set of Wall-E gifs. I liked this set the most of the three, partly because I find it humorous, and partly because I feel this is an exercise in futility that any parents or pet owners can relate to. I will probably do some more gifs (Wall-E and not) but this was a good stopping point because I was just testing out some new Photoshop skills I learned.
Gifs of Wall-E turning in for the night.
So, this is my second set (but was actually the first set created) of Wall-E gifs.
(Again, they are over 1mb, but, at 500px x 213px it is hard not to be over 1mb without substantial quality loss)
Gifs of Wall-E waking up in the morning.
Made by me.

(edit: apologies in advance, as these are a touch over 1mb... I didn't want to sacrifice the quality as much as was necessary to get them under 1mb)
(edit 2: for the curious, made using Windows Live Movie Maker, Format Factory, and Photoshop CS3)
Turn signal, blinker, indicator. Whatever you call them, use them. They are installed on every vehicle. Not using them is just being lazy and a bad driver.
I know I am guilty of this next one from time to time, but hey, at least I use my blinker when I'm doing it. ;)
The left lane is supposed to be for passing. Now, on busy city streets, I can see this traffic rule being thrown out the window. There is no 'passing lane' in those circumstances when traffic is that heavy. But on the interstate? Especially a large 6 lane interstate? There is no reason, except when slow-pokes refuse to leave the left most lane, that you should ever have to pass on the right side. This really applies more to 4 lane and 6 lane highways, as 8 lane and more have multiple "middle lanes"... but really I'm just bitching about a pet peeve, even if it is a traffic rule.

As I was driving back to the hotel from work, I again saw police officers of all types, sheriffs, unmarked, state troopers, sitting along the median of the interstate. Now, this was a different interstate where the happenings earlier in the day took place. I saw the first one, and again, I was going the speed limit as I decided after the mornings escapades that I don't trust the law enforcement officers here so I will not be going even 5 over the speed limit. Again, this started with just one car sitting in the median. I passed by him, again going faster than the other cars, but going the speed limit. About 1/8 of a mile past that car, I see another on the horizon. Two cars not even a mile apart. And then another. And another. And another. And so on. Total, there were 7 of them in under 5 miles just on my side of the interstate. Add the two that were on the other side giving tickets to people, and that brings us to 9. Nine officers in under 5 miles. Really? As I passed by the last one, I looked to my right, and there I see the police station for that particular town the interstate travels through. What a coincidence right?

Today: Apparently this is a daily occurrence.

So it's my second day in this state. I'm driving down the interstate on my way to my first day on the job. Speed limit, as is normal for interstate's, 70 MPH. I turn on the cruise control, set the cruise somewhere between 70-72 MPH (you can only get so accurate without a digital readout on the dash). I see a sign coming up ahead: Work Zone Ahead, $250 Minimum Fine, Speed Limit 60 MPH. Okay. I can do that. Set cruise control to somewhere in the area of 60-62 MPH. It seems like I am flying by everyone else on the road. I think that's quite odd, but hey, I'm only doing what the signs say. I can't control what the other people do or don't do on the road. As I'm driving in the middle lane of my side of this six lane highway, I pass a County Sheriff sitting in the median. I am not bothered by this, as I am going the speed limit +/- 1 or 2 MPH. So I keep driving, pass another police cruiser (unmarked) sitting in the median. Again, not worried. About a mile down the road, one more cruiser. Really? Three of them in just under 3 miles? Isn't that a little bit excessive? Oh well, if that's how they want to conduct business, whatever. About a mile down the road, I happen to look in the rearview mirror, and see the first cruiser I passed coming flying up in the lane to my left (the "fast lane") and think, oh man, he must've gotten someone or something. Then he gets up to about my rear fender and slows down to match my speed.
Now, it doesn't take an expert to know that with the distance between myself and when I passed him in the median, with him being at a dead stop, he had to be bookin' to catch up to me. Anyways, as I said, he started matching my speed. I happen to glance in my side mirror and see there are two officers in the car, the one in the passenger seat busy typing away, what I can only assume is my vehicles info (Indiana tag), into the laptop. We ride like this with them at my rear fender for about 5-6 miles. After about the third mile I started to get just more than a little bit annoyed with this, but I kept my speed constant and just tried my best to ignore them. Finally when they got all the info back saying that I am not a criminal and that I don't have any warrants out for me, they sped up and flew by me (still in the 60 MPH work zone). It's like they were trying to find something to pull me over for.
This is why people have problems with the police force. They are supposed to be there to serve and protect (I know this is technically not the mottoe of all PDs, just making a generalization), and there are plenty out there that do that. I know quite a few even. But instead of serving and protecting, it seems like a lot of them out there are out to frighten and harass. However, because of this, the way the public views the police force is negative because of the individuals that act in that way. Now, I can understand, if I was swerving, or on the cell phone, or speeding excessively... but I wasn't doing any of that. I was literally going the speed limit. But because I have an out-of-state tag on my vehicle, I got chosen to be 'randomly screened' without any sort of probable cause. Now, maybe there is another car out there that they are looking for and my car matches that description down to the Indiana tag... but I doubt it, especially at 7AM. On a Monday morning.
Again, not saying that all police officers are like this or even that all police officers do this. Just saying that if you want more people to respect you and what you do, get your brothers and sisters on the force to stop acting this way.

(To be fair, this takes place at a hotel, and as such, is very unlikely that the people of N.C. are to blame.)
I walk out to my car to get ready for my drive to work... I just happen to glance over at the grass near where I parked, and I see a cage. This is a little cage, the kind you might have a hamster, mouse, guinea pig, or something of that size and type in. I look and think 'I really hope that someone didn't leave an animal out here last night when they were unpacking their car'. So, I get closer, and what do I see but a poor dead animal inside the cage. Now, I'm sure that whomever left the cage out there was trying to rationalize this action by saying 'Well its meant to be out in the wild, it will survive. I'll just leave the cage door open and that way it can go and be free because I'm not allowed to have pets here in the hotel.' Well, that's not the case is it. Animals, no matter the type, can grow domesticated and not be able to survive in the wild. Obviously the people cared for the animal at one point in time, because they left a blanket in the cage so it could stay warm. But in the end, that poor animal was abandoned and left in the cold to die. And it did. There are many people out there that are not 'pet/animal people' but even those people would probably have issues with this. If you have a pet or animal, no matter the type, it is a responsibility that you took on. If you can't keep it, it is your responsibility to find a place for it to go, even if it is back to the pet store. At least then it has a chance.
Of course, there is always the possibility that this animal died on the trip to the hotel, or maybe they even had the animal in the hotel even though no pets are allowed here and it died while they were here. But if either of those was the case.... is that any way to dispose of your pet? To just take its cage out into the parking lot and leave it?
I recently saw a post on a social network that had a picture saying that Mattel should make a Barbie doll with no hair so that every little girl fighting cancer feels beautiful. It goes on to say name her Hope, put her in pink, and send the proceeds to St. Jude's.
Here are my thoughts on that: How do we know that the Barbie's that are out were not, at one time, fighting cancer and survived? The sad truth is, if there was a Hope doll, she would be perpetually sick, would never get better, and would always be fighting cancer. It may help little girls feel more beautiful but in the end, where is the 'Hope' that the doll was named for? It isn't there. At best you could make wigs to go along with Hope, but the again, the sad truth is that there wouldn't be any included with Hope's package. They would be separate kits. 'Cancer survivor Hope' accessory kits... 'Cancer survivor Christian' would be along not long after. And before long, there is a whole new line of Barbie dolls that started as a good idea with noble intent, but turned into just another money grab. More than likely, the company would not donate more than 25% to the hospital, because that is the nature of the beast. They aren't going to make something that they don't profit off of, at least for an extended period of time.
That, in my opinion, is why there hasn't been a doll for cancer fighting little girls. Because someone in that company knows that it would soon turn from something good into something not so good, and as such, has either not brought the idea up, or has blocked it from being put into action.
WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL BETTER WHEN YOU ARE IN A BAD MOOD?
Brooding until I can process what put me in the bad mood in the first place. My wife. Eating. Playing with my pets.
