@dmgdstar from here
The Italian gave a slight nod before letting out a bit of a hum.
"Well, it is tourist season, and there is a gang in the area. So, pickpocketing will be more of a worry. Though, the local gang isn't too bad, really...as long as you don't get into any fights with any of their members..." He trailed off, looking ahead while he spoke. Jonah almost hesitated before resuming, "most of them seem to be...well...haunted by something."
He was quiet for a moment, blue eyes studying the young man before him. There was something different about him. Something that felt familiar, almost. His thoughts didn't touch his expression though, which remained neutral for the most part. He'd mentioned a gang in the area. And that happened to be one of the reasons why he had come here in the first place.
Jotaro's contact to this case had gone dark. Which left him no choice but to set aside his own investigations elsewhere to travel here and find out for himself what was going on. The increase in stand users was alarming. Ever since Dio was spreading the use of those stone arrows. It could be dangerous if left in the wrong hands. Even more so came the rumors... rumors that some of Dio's descendants had made it out of Egypt. That was just another liability to consider.
Although as it stood right now, they shouldn't be more than teenagers. Which meant that identifying them and keeping an eye on them for now was all that would be necessary.
Jotaro had noticed something since his trip to Egypt. And even more so in Morioh, stand users were always drawn to each other. It was as if they could sense one another's power. The familiar feeling he got from him could be just that. He was a stand user. As to what his intent might be or if he was related to any of the current reports he'd gotten, it was unclear.
"I'm not necessarily worried about gang activity. What do you know about these.. hauntings?"
“ You don't say much, do you? ”

"...." He was quiet for a moment, his expression unchanging while he took his time to dig out a cigarette. Slipping the end in between his lips, he finally spoke up. "Japan.. What's it matter to you, anyway?"

"How do you know where I live?"

"Do you always make this good of a first impression?"
"You don't say much, do you?"
"Oh good, I'm not the only one who's late!"

"You have an interesting accent. Where are you from exactly?"
"Perhaps you'd like to know my name?"
"I got here by accident. How did you get here?"
"You're pretty cute, you know that?"
"Is small talk a way you deal with your anxiety?"
"It occurs to me that I don't know the first thing about you."
"I've been warned to watch out for women like you."
"Seeing as you let yourself in, forgive me if it's forwards to ask, but who the hell are you?"
"Who are you to tell me what to do?"
"You don't know me. You only know of me."
"How do you know that name? I haven't used that name in years!"
"Oh, hello! I know you, don't I?"
"You know, it is a little bit strange that we hardly know each other, right?"
"Hey, I immediately don't like you."
"I don't think we've ever been alone in a room together, have we?"
"Odd as it may seem, I don't feel you to be a stranger."
"I think your name is beautiful."
"You know that feeling you have that we've met before? It's the same with me."
"I was hoping we could talk a little business. Would you like some tea?"
"I'm not sure we've ever properly met."
"I didn't want us to meet like this."
"I hear you've been looking for me. I'm flattered."
"Hello! I love your work!"
"I have the strangest sense we've met before. Do you think that's possible? In another lifetime?"
"What are you doing sitting here all by yourself?"
"I've heard so much about you that I feel I almost know you."
"If you know so much about me, then perhaps you would like to say who you are?"
It's been a long time.. If you had a previous thread with me - I wiped it out. It's been so long. I am looking for a fresh start. So that means I need all new threads. I'll be going through my mutuals to see who's still hanging around. Get myself back out there. I may be a tad rusty, so bear with me. You're welcome to reach out to me as well, if you're interested. This is an official come back post.
The sky was clear, mostly, save for a spattering of fat white clouds. The contrast between the sky and the bright golden sand was a pleasing one and long lashed, whiskey colored eyes stared at the horizon as the helicopter ate away at the miles. In the grand scheme of things, it wasn’t that far, Italy to Egypt, but it had to be done carefully. One never knew where the darkness in the heart of men lurked.
It was part of the reason Dario Zeppeli had been gun-ho to join the crusade to Cairo; to do as his elder brother did and put a stop to the chaos. But Dario was an old man, now, not quite as quick as he used to be, not quite as steady on his feet. It was the reason Bianca Zeppeli was the one in the helicopter rather than her grandfather. She was young, strong, and more than willing to go in her grandfather’s place, even if he and the rest of the famiglia were against it.
She was Don, now, the Baroness, and she did what the hell she wanted.
As they began their decent, she nudged the small dog who slept on her lap. “It’s time, Iggy.”
The dog grumbled. A foretelling of this adventure.
@dmgdstar
“...” Jotaro stood next to his other Crusaders, his hands shoved into his pockets. Beside him, his grandfather had been going on about the help that they would be receiving. An expert stand user. Someone who was supposed to serve as some sort of trump card in their journey to Egypt. At this point, Jotaro wasn’t at all sure what to expect. His grandfather was proving to be quite the crazy character and unlike anyone he had ever met before. Not that he would ever admit that he was actually getting used to having people around that were a little bit different than the ones he were used to back home. They were in their own way, all still annoying to him, but also much more tolerable for him to be around. And that included his crazy grandfather, who always seemed to have some trick up his sleeve or some other plan that he pulled out of nowhere. So, if he insisted that this would be someone that would up their odds, he could only imagine it was going to be the exact opposite of what everyone was expecting. When the pair finally stepped out of the helicopter the Crusaders met up with, it came to no surprise to Jotaro that the ones who got off were a girl and a dog. Yep, he had been right. It wasn’t at all what anyone was probably imagining. For this reason, when Polnaroff and even Kakyoin expressed their concerns and disagreement to allowing the two to join their journey. Jotaro simple dug into his pocket and fished out his pack of cigarettes. He had nothing to say on the matter nor did he have much of an interest in arguing with it. He wouldn’t say he totally trusted Joseph’s word on the matter, it just didn’t matter to him either way. As long as they all made it to Egypt in time to save his mother, that’s all that Jotaro was concerned about. Again, something that he would never admit to.
“If that’s all we were waiting for, let’s go already. We’re wasting time.” Just like that, he turned his back to the new arrivals and started away from the group. Lit cigarette hanging from his lips and his hands in his pockets. Maybe it was rude of him not to greet the girl that had come with the dog or even stop and wait for his grandfather to introduce them or something of that nature, but he could care less. Jotaro was on a mission and there wasn’t anything that was going to stop him.

The world had shifted somehow from what he knew it to be. And something told him this wasn’t related to just the Priest he had been hunting down. While at first it seemed as though only gravity had changed itself in Cape Canaveral, it become more than just that soon after he had arrived to the location. Jotaro had rushed over there as quickly as he could manage once he had woken from his coma. The message had come through loud and clear, his daughter was in trouble and he needed to get there before things got worse. After all if she were to be exposed to the world, there was no reason for him not to step in when he should have form the very beginning. He wasn’t expecting things to take another turn once he got there, though.
It was like the complex itself was starting to come undone. Gravity had been turned on its side but now the threads that held the world together started to come undone. It was like someone had torn the sky opened and uprooted some of the sideways buildings. It was true in itself that he wasn’t sure what all abilities Pucci might be capable of now, he didn’t feel that this kind of change to the environment was from his stand alone. Which could only mean that there was something more at work here. Something likely behind the scenes and the worst part of it, was that when he had arrived Jolyne was no where to be found.
Not wanting to jump straight to conclusions, he resolved to try and get further into this warped reality. There wasn’t anyone else he could think of that would be capable of drawing this much power. No one except for the one person he knew who’s stand had been ever evolving during battle. But that was impossible, he reminded himself. That enemy had long since been defeated and Jotaro had made sure of that, personally. He had even gone to the trouble of burning the journal he kept that described his thirst for power and a way to change the world into his vision.
Shaking off any uncertainties he had, he focused on the task at hand. He had to find Jolyne. That was his objective and the reason he had rushed here in the first place. Figuring out what was going on could come later once he was able to confirm her safety. (sorry this is a short start, I am admittingly a little rusty ;;)
The young woman wandered around, trying to figure out where she was. With no memory of how she got here, surely there had to be a good reason as to why she was suddenly in such an unfamiliar place. Otherwise she would think that she was a victim of a random occurrence.
Pinching the bridge of her nose, she groaned in frustration. She initially wanted to find someone to help her make sense of what was going on, but so far she couldn’t find any other signs of life. This was going to be a real pain to get through with no one around to guide her.
Putting her hand into her pocket, she took out a cigarette and just when she was about to light; she caught someone in the corner of her eye. Guess she wasn’t alone like she originally thought she was. For some strange reason, she felt some sort familiarity yet she couldn’t figure out why. Either way, she flicked away her cigarette and yelled out to get the stranger’s attention.
“Oi! You there! Can you help me out?”
With the sound of the call, he turned to its source. Blues landed on a young woman dressed in a fashion that was familiar to him. Brows came to knit over an intense gaze. There was something about her that he just couldn’t place. It was almost like he had seen her before or maybe they had met somewhere? That wouldn’t be possible though, he thought. By the looks of her, this girl couldn’t be any older than his own daughter. He would have remembered meeting someone around that age. Not to mention, Jotaro had been busy as of late with his own work and tracking down all the pieces that connected to Dio. His work hadn’t finished even in the years after Dio had been defeated. Not as long as he still had children out there that could pose a threat if they were able to unlock the power they might have. What was worse was that now, Jolyne had been wrapped up in all of it. Something he had ended his marriage over to prevent. There was no way he would have been able to cross paths with her before. Still, he couldn’t shake the draw he felt from her. It was the same kind of pull that he felt towards anyone that wore the Joestar birthmark. A natural feeling that they were somehow related in one way or another. Another thing that didn’t seem possible, given her age. Jolyne was the last of the Joestar bloodline and as far as he knew, she didn’t have any children. So how could this be possible? The only thing that made sense in his mind was that something strange was going on here and not just the fact that gravity had been warped. It went far beyond that, just like he had suspected when he arrived. This girl had somehow confirmed that there was more going on in this place than met the eye.
“Sure. But first I want to know if you know anything about this place?” Jotaro asked in return. His voice was stern but lacked the harshness it would have in his younger years. For now, he thought he might see what he could find out from her. And if in the event that she didn’t know anything, then he would suggest that they move further in to try and find out. That is if she could be trusted. The first task was to figure out who she was and what side she stood on. Because whatever was causing this wasn’t anything good. That much he had already figured out given the urgent messaged he had received upon waking from his coma.

Just for you - with love.
from Jotaro.
"'Cuse me, will you grab that cookie packet for me? On the top shelf, the carmel chocolate ones, please!" Kaos pointed up, past the reach of her finger tips.
Blue eyes were directed upwards at the point of her finger in silence. For a brief moment, Jotaro thought of just turning around and walking away. The ask of the favor was trouble enough for him, he thought. But at least she wasn't doing anything that might come off as annoying to him at least not yet. So after a long pause, he finally decided he would go ahead and do as she requested.
In silence, he reached up with ease to grab the item that she had requested and then handed it over without flinching. His stare was intense while he waited for her to take said item from his hand. Once the deed was done, he would replace his hands back into his pockets and simply just turn on his heels without a word.
It wasn't like Jotaro to have an interest in making small talk and this encounter was no different. He had done what was asked of him and now in his mind, it was time to move on.
“...Can I?” // I think I will cause trouble on purpose hehee
"...." Jotaro eyed the red head from the corner of his eye. The question had come abruptly and so at first he wasn't sure what to make of it. Surely he couldn't have been serious, right?
While it was true that their journey thus far had done well to bring the two of them closer together, Jotaro had never considered or even thought of Kakyoin in any other light. But that wasn't something that he typically focused on either. He had a habit of pushing fawning girls away because they got on their nerves and seemingly no interest in anything remotely romantic. Whether or not that was just because of the task at hand or just because he didn't have the patience for it was another question. Of all people, he never would have considered, Kakyoin was one of them. He had become one of the few people Jotaro had been able to tolerate for long periods of time. Kakyoin had shown time and again that he was more sensible than most and this had made it easy for Jotaro to adjust to. So when the silence lasted between them after his initial question, he finally turned his full attention over to the red head. Blue eyes locking onto him from beneath the brim of his hat.
"Is that a joke?" While the question wasn't meant to be harsh and more of an uncertainty, Jotaro indifferent tone left it hard to read.
I'm just saying, it's a very challenging thing-- both the field and academia in general. I certainly wouldn't be able to do it, not for all the world. I think I'd turn absolutely green while presenting my thesis, make an utter fool of myself, and want to go become a hermit in a cave somewhere. Anyone who gets through grad school is practically a magician, or a rock star!
"I guess you could say I learned how to deal with difficult... situations over the years." He spoke as he looked, stoic as ever. "The bottom line is, trusting your instincts and maintaining confidence in your work. That's all there is to it."
