(THIS post reminded me of something i talked about once so here here)

I was thinking last night about how Toki being into building model airplanes or coloring books, to me, serve well to the sentiment of Toki trying to escape being infantilized and associated with childlike things.

And you’d THINK i’d feel the opposite since… coloring books? Considerably a childish thing. First off, characters are allowed to be multifaceted, thank you. Second off, i think him being into those things could take the idea further and say these hobbies aren’t inherently childish. And a grown man can be taken seriously while engaging with these hobbies and it could’ve been utilized as Toki, rather than alienating himself from these things that he enjoys since they’re considered childish, accepting that these things aren’t an indicator of immaturity or a reason for him to be taken any less seriously than the rest of his bandmates.

More related to the post that reminded me of this itself, Toki can be a violent person and have “childish” interests simultaneously. Neither of these are end all be all and it’s definitely taken to a weirder extent when you use his childish interests as a way to infantilize him

I talked with a friend about this but there is like genuinely no nuance when it comes to fan portrayals of Toki I noticed. He’s either some sweet innocent baby who never does anything wrong and needs his alpha boyfriend (usually Skwisgaar or eughh ew Magnus) to protect him from the world OR he’s a cold hearted super buff evil dude who hates everything and wants to kill everybody. Like there’s rarely people who can acknowledge he has an interest in things that are childish, but is also an adult and in a death metal band. These statements can coexist it doesn’t have to be one or the other. I think what a lot of people forget is that Toki is a complex dude, he doesn’t fit into just one box! He can be and act different ways at different times, nothing wrong w dat.

Anyway. Nathan is 39, Murderface is 40 and I think their birthdays aren’t too far apart from one another so Nathan clowns Mf for turning 40 when he will be in the same position mere months later

Toki is 34, Skwisgaar is 36; Toki goes Haha Skwisgaars yous gonna bes an old mans soon! Skwisgaar is completely sure he’s gonna be a silver fox so he doesn’t care.

Charles is 46, Pickles is 45 and their hairlines are definitely telling of their age!

The version of Magnus Hammersmith in my head is the lamest of lame

He frequents r/dethklok, curled over his computer typing away a tangent about how he should be credited and compensated for any creative crumb he provided Dethklok during his time with them.

He’s pestering randoms on public transport about how he was in the worlds biggest death metal band, but they’ve wronged him inconsolably, or so he claims, and throws in a “you should buy my solo music” for good measure

There is no bone in my body, no neuron in my brain, that will ever let me believe he is some menacing-badass-broken-soul of a man, he is simply just a loser and I love him that way

We obviously know they’re both into sci-fi and superhero comics, especially considering the whole mandalorian action figure situation. But HOW OFTEN do we even see Bill talking about comics.

Of COURSE there are instances of him taking a liking to sci-fi with the Captain Kirk journal logging thing he does while he’s grounded I’m totally sure he’s super into that as well.

IN MY HEAD I totally believe Bill just wanted to be the comic guy and snatched the role from Josh before he got the chance to claim it like he would Totally do that
