I feel like pro copyright people overestimate how much companies want to steal art in the traditional way. Disney legally owns everything their workers make on and off the clock. Disney can take a character designed by a worker, lay that worker off, then make 10000 times as much money of that character than what they original paid that worker. Big companies like Disney don't need to steal random small artists (and, to be clear, they still to do but good fucking luck suing Disney for putting your fan art on a shirt) because its far more lucrative to steal from your workers.

But like genuinely. "humans have an innate need for spirituality" should be pretty transparently a reactionary opinion. It's simply not true and equates something that some people get benefit from with it being a fundamental aspect of being human (and one that is missing it most people today). You gonna start arguing "children *need* fathers or they grow up broken" next?
