Hello Lovelys, I've been using tumbler for a little bit now so I figured I should probably make an intro post just so there's a bit about me somewhere here on my blog!!

I hate that i had no one who tried to help me when I was stuck in an abusive relationship for 2 years. My friends didnt care enough about it and my ex more than me so they would never say anything too bad ablut him. They did acknowledge that he was mean to me, treated me poorly, and that he wasnt the best boyfriend but no one ever tried ro talk to me about how I was obviously codependent and how I should try to leave.

My family is transphobic, so they didnt like him but not because of any of the bad things he did it was because he was trans. So I never spoke to them about my relationship because why would I? Any crisism they had was due to transphobia not concern for me.

I only got told to leave after I moved countries and had an entirely new friend group. They all told me that the bad things he does are bad and that I shouldn't have to put up with it. All of them treated me way better than I had ever been treated in the past and it made me realise that I deserve love and what I had been experiencing before wasnt love, care, or affection, I dont what word to use to describe it.

I owe it to those friends that I now know how to have self respect for myself and for my boundries. I just wish I could have realised that sooner because even after he raped me I still never left. I guess my point is support systems are really important and everyone deserves people who love and care about them.

Hey does anyone remember when a transgender adult man with cerebral palsy got top surgery of his own accord and then posted about it in celebration, and then transphobes:

Lied and said he was non-verbal

Lied and said he was incapable of communication

Lied and said he had not gotten the surgery of his own accord

Lied and said his "guardians decided [he] was trans"

Got MGT to call a procedure done on a consenting adult "criminal" just because he had cerebral palsy

Mass reported his video and his account, which he ran, until facebook terminated his account for "child exploitation" despite it being his account, him being an adult, and him not being exploited

Ableism and transphobia are inseperable. Just like ableism was used to prop up bigotry throughout history, now it is being used to deny transgender people bodily autonomy the same way it is used to deny disabled people bodily autonomy. It's not a coincidence that so much of the rights transphobic rhetoric is focused on labelling us as "mentally ill". They don't think any disabled people, let alone mentally ill people should have independence or liberation.
