"hephaistion made this" in a beautiful trompe-l'oeil piece of paper half unstuck by the wind still some of the rawest stuff ever put in a mosaic (2nd century bc, pergamon)

"Hermes is the god of thieves so he's fine with art theft!" No.
"Dionysos wouldn't mind it he's chaotic!" No.
"Hephaistos is a machinery god and AI is machinery so it's okay!" No.
"The gods wouldn't even care they just want offerings!" No.
There is not, and never has been, a reason to offer the gods AI art. It requires absolutely no effort or thought on your part as a worshipper, which defeats the purpose of an offering.
Do not support the use of AI art at ALL, much less as something given to Them.
"But it's all I can give!" Water. The Theoi fully accept a glass of water.

Please do not offer those you worship something so lackluster and thoughtless as a computer generated image that destroys our environment and piggybacks off the works of others.
Denying any connection between modern LGBT+ people and similar expressions from the past is erasure, actually.
Just because identities are constructed does not mean they do not refer to anything material or objective. And it does not mean there were never any parallel, coordinate, or related constructs to which they can be connected, either.
“That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.”

I love them so much!!
I liked this head of a Gallo-Roman statue of #Mercury, so I did some slapdash colorize / blur on it, and the effect turned out good enough I just kept going until He had a nose and stuff again...
I'm sure a more experienced painter could do a better job, and this isn't a technical reconstruction of polychromy or anything. I just like to see these cool artifacts we have come back to life in some way.
We so rarely get a stone statue with the face intact.
The subtle smirk or "cunning" look on His face is very on-brand for Mercury, and is what sells the piece for me.

psa hating monotheistic religions as a polytheist isnt cute. ur just as bad as those people you hate in said religion. its not tolerance, its acceptance we need. make it start with you.
"Acceptance" shouldn't start with the traumatized, it should start with the offender.
