I do not play about Jackie being a lesbian who experiences severe compulsory heterosexuality. That is 100% canon to me. She looks absolutely miserable when Jeff asks her to go down on him, she finds every excuse to avoid having sex with him, and when she finally does have sex with a man it’s when she’s passively suicidal, no longer believes in love, and wants to lash out against Shauna. The catalyst for Jackie’s despair and complete loss of hope is discovering Shauna’s betrayal, and when she learns that Shauna and Jeff slept together, her devastation is focused solely on Shauna.

Any time Jackie is with a man it feels like self-punishment or destruction. It’s something she’s doing to herself, not for herself. She is a character suffocated by expectations of perfection and social influence, forced to perform a version of femininity and romance that doesn’t actually fit her. Jackie as a closeted lesbian makes so much sense for her story and her tragic end. Those slumber party make outs were definitely happening.

i think about manorian an unhealthy amount of times during my day. i miss them so much :(

i would kill for a book about their lifes after the war. each of them rebuilding their respective kingdoms, meeting again after months for “diplomatic reasons”, and eventually starting to visit each other more and more frequently simply because they want to see each other. just them healing, falling in love, and cuddling a lot !!!!

also, everytime i remember that dorian wanted to heal with her i tear up. like. we all know chaol and yrene are going to be there for him, but after all he had been through, him canonically thinking ONLY of manon when healing and happiness cross his mind is so important to me.

i just need them to come back to me and then every single problem in my life would be immediately solved.

the idea of a post-rescue who shauna who doesn’t marry jeff, who goes to brown and majors in lit, who becomes a writer and dissects her grief and trauma through her work, who still builds a shrine to jackie out of her life— not by taking on the life that jackie would’ve had, but by writing about her, is everything to me. every novel she writes has a charcater who dies too young, whose death transforms the people around them in a profound way. every poem she writes has an undercurrent of loss to it, with a million different metaphors for death that her readers will spend hours picking apart and analyzing; but not as many hours as shauna spends bent over her desk weaving jackie into her words, killing her again and again while simultaneously immortalizing her in her work as she tries to write her way out of the grief, the guilt, the shame. god we could’ve had it all
