#All Lost Ones’ Home

A deadtired au in which Tim runs away! But this runaway’s got a secret. A secret boyfriend that is. It’s been years! So why is family only now reaching out?

tldr: Tim runs away to Amity to live with his boyfriend and two step kids. He only told Tam, so she could cover for him at WE, and YJ, so they could cover any outside Gotham stuff and inform JL that Tim’s leaving. Permanently. Except, they made a whoopsie! They made it seem like he fell off the flat Earth!

#A Creep is A Creep

No ships au. After the destruction of their home universe, Danny and Vlad have come to this new universe to start over. Isn’t it so fun to look at the similarities? The difference? Not that there are a lot. Vlad, or rather Ra’s Al Ghul, is a creep every time.

tldr: After the dp world falls apart for (reasons I’m still working on!!), they reincarnate in the dc world. Danny, or well Dante, is missing his kids dearly. So he asks for help from his dear old godfather. And uh. Who knew how weird it looks when a cult leader known for being a bit mean, is really nice to you. And your kids.

#Beans For Me

Deadtired au. Danny’s got a new job! A very nice, shiny paying job called being a contractor. As much as he hates the way it affected his parents, engineering is fun. He loves it. He especially likes the cute guy he met along the way..

tldr: Danny’s a contractor/free lance engineer. He creates what he wants and sometimes gets contracted to work for big companies. Because of this, he travels a lot. Great for Ellie’s obsession! Bit hard to adjust to for Dan, but it’s going good! Til one faithful night, in which Timothy Drake-Wayne changes his world. Chpt.1

#The Case of The Marine

dead on main au. Jason got a problem he needs dealing with, except he doesn’t really got a lot of information on it. While asking Barbara is an option, he’s doesn’t really want to have to deal with Bruce, or any of the others for that matter, trying to but in with this. So instead, he heads off to an old contact of his. Danny Fenton; Information Broker.

tldr: Danny is an information broker, Jason is well Jason, and the Batfam is trying real hard to bond with the guy. Oh and there’s maybe a gang war on the rise-

tldr: I wanted Bart hurt/comfort. That is all it is. A bunch of Bart realising his hurt and getting comforted by friends, family, and everything in between.

Chpt. 4 Oh little wolf, you’re far from your pack.

prev. He doesn’t like Ra’s. He really doesn’t like him. He barely tolerates his little spawn, and Damian’s okay when he feels like. Every time he thinks about the Bruce Quest, he gets sick thinking of everything that could’ve gone wrong. The one little difference that could change everything. 

Not even in the way that he could’ve fucking died, really it just comes with the job, the weird shit that happened.

The things that haunt his mind that he needs to call back the therapist for.

…

He’ll get to it.

It’s just, Tim knows Ra’s. In a way far deeper than he ever wanted or knew he’d ever have the chance to.

He’s a fucking creep and a weirdo, and despite what all he says about not crossing lines, he certainly feels like he does. He won’t stand close to you, but he always assume he knows best for you. He’ll let you say no when he assumes you will, but he pressure you to do what he truly wishes. He lets you feel in control, like you can make your own decisions while getting into your mind.

He may not do anything, but he certainly feels like a predator.

It’s why this case has been on edge. He knows nothing will happen. He knows nothing has happened. At least, not in the usual way things do. Tim trust that Ra’s will keep secrets secret, but it doesn’t mean he won’t hold it above Dante’s head.

He knows the game, and he doesn’t want anyone else to play.

Tim really doesn’t like seeing his cousin in his shoes. Especially considering he doesn’t know for how long this has been going on. Since high school? Since Europe? Was during his short stay in Egypt? When he was in the Himalayas for a week? 

And the other question, is why? Why Dante? Why him? Why anyone at all? 

With all his kids and grandkids and heirs and whatever else Ra’s Al Ghul has under his thumb, why is he still chasing others? What’s the goal? Because it is Ra’s he’s talking about. He doesn’t do anything without an objective.

What does Jason have that Nyssa can’t have? What does Tim have that Talia doesn’t have? What does Dante have that Damian didn’t have? 

 He’s heard rumours, of course.

A lost wayward son, whose blood was not layed in the Al Ghul line, but another. A son Ra’s was desperate for. He search for him in his every child, deem none great enough to replace him.

He’s heard rumours, nothing concrete.

He knows Ra’s knows no love.

“Ra’s.”

“Detective.”

It’s a stand off, one he isn’t prepared for. Yes, he was aware that Ra’s fucking Al Ghul is currently in Gotham hanging around his cousin. It’s a very different situation to have to fight him(again).

Barbara been on his ass for this entire case. Actually, everyone has. They don’t know their history, but for some reason they think Ra’s is going to kill him. Unlikely, he’s still useful alive. 

“Red, what’s your position right now?” she asks almost immediately. Whatever chatter was left on the comms shuts down, everyone standing ready to defend him.

Which is stupid, he didn’t need them then, he won’t need them now.

Still, he hates making people worry. Tim is strong, capable and a wet cat. So he replies, “It’s Ra’s. He’s just staring at me, don’t know what he wants.”

Ra’s fucking Al Ghul places a hand to his heart like one of Jason drama telenovelas as he makes a fake wounded sound. He sighs,  “You wound me, detective, I have no ill intent whatsoever.”

Yeah like he fucking believes that.

“What purpose does Dante Draco serve to you?” Risky question, but Ra’s always enjoyed hearing him ask questions to get to the answer he’s alluding to. If anything, Tim can almost ignore his family’s complaints of wrong questions, wrong wording, and be ready for anything. Yeah, yeah. He knows how to deal with weird creepy musty guys.

Ra’s looks amused. It’s kind of hard to see if he expected the question or not, but he looks amused. Yeah, maybe they were right.

Wrong question.

“It has nothing to do with his relation to you,” The demon head grins like the bastard he is. It was pretty clear seeing how he interacts with Danny, far more comfortable than he is with him. Hell, more comfortable than he is with his other favorite detective!

Tim shifts his stance, ready for an attack that might or might not come. His bo staff is in his hands as quick as lighting, prepared for anything. “I know that,” he grits while trying to hold the disdain out of his tone. Ra’s things it’s fucking funny when he gets mad. Because he’s a bastard.

“Then I don’t know what you are asking, detective,” he says blasé, shaking off his questions despite knowing exactly what he’s asking.

Alright, if Ra’s wants to be a dick, then Tim can be a dick. He’ll fucking attack him if he needs to, even if it isn’t wise. There isn’t much he wouldn’t trade for information. “Fine, when did you decide that Dante was somehow so important?”

“And if I said far before you might think?” 

That, strikes ice in his blood.

He knows that Ra’s believes in a lot of things. And this type of implication is much deeper than it should be.

Tim steady himself, readying the attack and ignoring the calls of his family. “And that would mean…?”

“Oh I know you know the rumours, detective. You must simply learn to separate the truth from fiction.” 

Fuck. He wasn’t expecting to do rumour hunting again. Ra’s just loves to test his patience. 

Maybe this will get his family off his ass?

WIP! The Case of the Marine

He awoke with a gasp, a screech, a cough hanging just off the tip of his tongue. He floated down the stream, far too tired to be. They tried to drown him. Emphasis on the tried.

When he finally came to, he found himself at a harbour.

Danny was forced to break and to steal, but as he wandered he overheard so many things that should be revealed.

They say dead men tell no tales that the living can hear. Every wall has an ear and two sets of eyes. Every set of eyes has a mouth to speak so loud. Most importantly, every ghost has a story.

It’s how he made his big break. Not through taking over with crashes and loud sounds, but through taunting. Danny dug his fingers into the ground and pulled at the seams. He looked at the wiring hidden underneath.

First, he didn’t ask or confront, he allowed the ghosts to be heard for once. Then, he poked around. He looked to see what bent and what twisted. And finally, he played the game.

The people he heard out weren’t stupid, no. They were the ones that fought to survive through every way they could. The ones who knew the game longer than him and were willing to teach.

Danny knew what he was getting into. The question then became, what would it mean to continue? What would it mean when something goes wrong? When someone decides to play unfair?

Well, the one thing he learned from his parents, may they rest in piece, is that losing is not the end of the game, but the new beginning.

Chpt. 3 Young Star, Don’t Lead Me To The Well

prev.

He sees them. He sees the little bastards in white and he can’t breathe. How did they get back? Why did they return? Wasn’t destroying the world enough?

He sees his kids in their hands. Their little bodies are so small and pudgy. Don’t they feel like monsters? Can’t they see their wrongs? Would they be so cruel to take them away from him again? So, so cruel?

He tries to move, but he can’t. He’s trapped. Again. He pulls and pulls and pulls at the binds and cuffs, anything to get to his kids. 

He can’t let them down again. He pulls. 

He can’t let them hurt again. He screams.

He can’t let them die again. He cries. 

He can’t let them down again. He pushes.

Dorian and Diara are his gifts, his little special blessings. He can’t live without them, he can’t. Don’t take them away, please. Please…

Danny wakes with a start. His breath quickens and pushes against his lungs painfully. Dan is crying. He must be hungry. He picks up the little one, holding his close as he moves to go make him a bottle. Then grabs a second one since Ellie might wake up soon.

The motions are easy enough for him to do it on autopilot. He’s not really sure that he’s really here right now. Life is kinda dull when you’re not fighting for your life at every second.

He’s tired. Not from the little ones, no, never them, but he knows Ra’s Vlad’s hiding something from him. Something that has to do with his cousin. Who is a civilian, or at least should be.

The microwave beeps right as Lavender messages him.

He didn’t mean it. Danny just gets lost in his head a lot. Living two traumatising lives will do that to you. And having two young children.

Which he should tell people about. Vlad Ra’s used his many connections to make them legal identities, so that isn’t something he needs to worry about. However, he should probably tell the people in his life that he has kids.

Dan whines about not getting his food, making the choice for him. Danny sighs fondly, moving his son to his feeding chair. Dan grumbles, the permanent frown on his face seems to transcend universes. Especially when he’s not in his arms.

He grabs the bottle, temperature checks, and then hands it to his baby. Dan’s face softens meagerly as he receives his food. Adorable. He’ll be a riot when he’s older, Danny just knows it.

He doesn’t want to ruin what he has now. It’s not perfect, but it’s better than before. As long as he keeps saying that, he’ll believe it. It’s better than before, he’s safe yet alone. It’s better that way.

Danny has had to endure a lot. 

From the fall of his old world, to new, even more neglectful parents. He’s lived the world, and he fucking survived it. Don’t get it twisted. He’s endured all he could, and he’s going to continue enduring all he can. Don’t get it twisted.

So he knows when someone is trying to trick him.

“You're hiding something from me.” Danny stares blankly at the fucker standing in his house, holding one of his children. 

Vlad’s face may not give anything away, but the minuscule twitches give him away. He shifts Ellie up, closer to rest her little head against his shoulder as his hand rubs gently against her back. His angel snuggles closer to her technical other parent, gurgling softly.

Yes, Ra’s did make up documents for a nonexistent daughter to make him his son-in-law. Something, something, can’t let the past go even across time and space. He is their grandfather on paper, but their other genetic donor in reality.

Whatever, not the point right now.

His expression hardens as he stares at the vampire. (No. he does not care that he isn’t actually a vampire.) Danny glares at his godfather, letting his disdain show in full. “You’re hiding something from me,” he spits with venom.

“Yes,” he agrees with the same aloofness he always has. Ra’s is fucking lucky he’s holding his little girl or he’d throttle him. Then he adds, “It’s for your own good.”

“My own good? The fuck you know about that!” he growls. It’s hard not to scream at this asshole. He has to though, his baby is sleeping. 

Danny huffs and puffs in an attempt to cool down. Why did he let him back in his life again? He moves off the living room where Dan is sitting in the playpen, watching some type of offbrand Batman show. He doesn’t really know what it's about, Ra’s put it on. 

There’s a joke somewhere there.

Ra’s places Ellie next to her brother, allowing them to curl up together as they are both enamoured with Batman: World’s Greatest Hero. Ra’s stands off to the side, standing as if he didn’t just admit to lying to him again. He sighs as if he’s the one troubled and pained.

“What are you keeping from me,” he sighs out. Danny is tired. He’s been tired. He was tired enough before welcoming the vampire back into his circle. Just a second later he adds, “And why?”

“A selfish reason, I’m afraid.” 

He knows what ‘selfish’ is with this asshole. He’s lived through fucking ‘selfish’. He doesn’t want to have to deal with that again. Not after what happened last time.

Danny grit out, “What right do you have?” 

Ra’s sighs, looking away once more. He stands straight, that posh behaviour entwined into his DNA. He stands like this is an interview for a job he’s about to get kicked out from. His eyes shut as he frowns, letting out a sigh that matches his age.

“None.”

Chpt. 1: Well met, I say!

Danny would like to start out saying that it is not his fault.

    It is simply that his problem children want to see him fail. That must be it! There is no other reason for why they have decided they had to sneak out the hotel every. Single. Night.  Without fail too! It is all for the simple reason of wanting to give him gray hairs.

    Tonight, they have chosen to bother the café right across from where they’re staying. He walks in to find them in a very animated conversation with one of the customers there. Ellie is waving her hands around as if to put across some kind of point as the guy simply nods along. Despite the fact that it’s clear he came here to work, evident by the laptop and copybooks in front of him, he is listening carefully to her speech.

    It is cute, heartwarming, and does a funny little thing to his heart. Yes, Danny does in fact have a competence kink. No, he will not speak on it. He’s just here to grab his kids and go. Completely ignore the cute guy being nice to his daughter.

    “Look, I get you guys don’t like Gotham, but we’ll only be here for a week more.” he starts with the soft voice. His kids might be causing him multiple sleepless nights while he’s working, yet he can’t find it in himself to be mad. Dan may have lived until he was 20 or something, but now? He’s back to being a young child that has poor regulations of his emotions.

    As expected, Ellie whines about being interrupted. Dan turns to glare just for a moment before the realisation kicks in. His arms are crossed but the rest of his body softens, completely untenses in his presence. He huffs in defeat, rises from his seat, and comes to stand next to him. It’s such a nice, kind gesture, Danny almost wants to pick him up and squeeze him.

    “How’d you find us so quick?” he asks as seriously as a 6 year old can. Dan looks up at him as if he ruined game night. Or Taco Tuesday. Or whatever it is they hold sacred these days.

    Ellie finally turns towards him, moving to her knees as she leans against the back of the chair. She makes the obvious move of showing him her large pout. She lets her arms dangle off the chair during her attempt at using puppy eyes. “I don’t cannot believe this,” she huffs just like her brother.

    The cute guy they were talking with obviously looks conflicted. His confused face is adorable in the way Danny kinda wants to squish his cheeks. He raises an eyebrow as he asks Ellie, “Ellie, who’s this?”

    The effect is immediate. She instantly inflates, spinning around towards him, and slamming her tiny, tiny hands on the table. “Dandy!” she says with a gummy grin. 

    “I’m, uh, their dad. My name's Danny,” he introduces awkwardly. Danny sticks his hand out and he shakes it in a nice, firm grip. There’s a small ‘Tim’ and then they’re both letting go. He then realises he should explain more, “Dandy like Danny and Daddy mixed together. Her nickname for me.” 

    Dan looks at him disappointed, but he’s not sure for what, then wraps his arms around his leg. It’s nice and very comforting to feel at least one of his kids close. He rests his hand on top of his head, and Tim finally untenses. Which, wow, he didn’t even notice how tense he was until now. It makes sense to check that the random dude that just came for the random kids you met is actually related.

    “They’re adorable,” Tim offers up with a smile. He flashes a smile right back at him, a bit more focused on checking his kid is okay. Seriously, Danny can’t tell if Dan decided he just really loves him, or he’s trying to punish him for something, because he is gripping his leg, like, really hard.

    Eventually he loosens his grip and Danny releases a soft sigh. One child sorted out. “Come on Ellie-bean,” he calls out to where she seems to have engaged Tim into another conversation. “We got to go, Els.”

    When she hears him, she flops onto the table. Ellie pouts, oh so very clear she doesn’t want to leave. She mops, making very clear movements of dragging herself down from the table and chair. She sighs loud, so everyone knows her displeasure. He almost thought he’d have to pick her up, but then-

    “That might just be my new favourite bean.” Ancients bless this man. Whoever Tim may be, he kinda wants to kiss him now.

    “I thought you really really liked coffee beans?” she asks with her brows furrowed. Ellie seems to be thinking about it so hard and it’s just so darn cute. He’s not made to be a father. He just wants to squeeze his kids all the time.

    Tim leans in close, like he’s sharing a secret, and whispers, “Even more than coffee beans.” Her face brightens immediately and he looks so proud. Like that was the goal. Oh dear, there goes his heart. “Ellie-bean is better than every bean,” he says so matter-of-factly that he kinda wants to kiss him.

    “Really really?” she grins, standing on her tippy toes. She leans close to him, completely ignoring all boundaries.

    “Really really.” he confirms with a soft smile. Ellie twirls around for a moment with a squeal. She turns towards him and runs to give Tim a big ol’ hug before he can process. She mumbles something against his chest, but it was probably something sweet since his face softens even more. 

    When she lets go, she marches straight towards Danny. Ellie grabs both his and her brother’s hand, dragging them with her. She leaves with a quick call out of, “Bye bye Mr. Bean man!” and then they’re finally heading back to the hotel.

    His kids are never letting him forget this guy, are they?

Chpt.2 What we do in the dark

Prev.

While it isn’t unusual to see League assassins sneaking around Gotham, it is surprising to see Ra’s Al Ghul himself there. Without making it known, no evil plots, just there... In a normal apartment, being completely normal, around completely normal people.

Or maybe there is an evil plan, because the apartment belongs to Dante Draco. Aka Tim’s cousin.

“Holy shit,” he whispers under his breath but Barbara hears him loud and clear.

Her panic is loud and clear. Look, even if he didn’t explain what happened between the two of them, Tim at least told her Ra’s is on his shit list. “RR? What’s happening? Has Ra’s done anything?”

“No. It’s just- I know the person who the apartment belongs to.” Wow, way to under explain.

There’s a pause, very clear that Barbara is searching whatever she can find on Dante. Not that there's much, Dante really doesn’t do much with his life. Besides hanging out Ra’s Al Ghul apparently! “Oh shit,” she whispers in the same tone as him. Clearing finding the family connection.

“Yeah,” he breathes out. Not to say that he’s close to Dante, seeing as he is 7 years older than him and was the black sheep of the family, but he was nice. Kind even. Made a really quiet off hand offer to ‘sneak into his house if Bruce turns out to be bad.’ 

So excuse him for wanting to make sure Ra’s isn’t going to do anything to him.

“Do you know why Ra’s would target him?” Barbara’s tone would sound interrogative if it wasn’t so clear she was trying to get him to go from ‘Omg I need to do something’ to ‘Omg I need to do something’. Think through, make plans and such. Don’t go running in head first without informing her. Don’t do something stupid.

Tim shakes his head, trying to get his thoughts back on track. He’s had bat training for years to help with this! He can’t lose all that progress just because Ra’s fucking Al Ghul makes him a bit upset. He digs his nail into the back of his neck as grounding, taking deep, deep breaths. He’s going to put Ra’s in the fucking ground one day.

He looks back to the binoculars at just the right moment to see Ra’s hold a tiny, pudgy baby. The closer he looks, the more the little one looks like Dante. The jet black hair is at the cross road between wavy and curly, their nose turns at just the slight angle that out of everyone in the family, only Dante has. Which…

“Since when did Dante have a kid?!” 

“Two kids,” Oracle corrects, which is not much better. He makes a point of checking on his remaining family. Lavender Draco moved out the moment she hit 18, spent 4 years in Indiana where she met her current husband, Paxton Parker, and they moved to Illinois. Madonna Nightingale-Draco and Jack Draco moved to Chicago shortly after the death of Janet Drake. 

However, Dante was a bit harder to track. Dropped out of high school at 16, went on a spiritual journey around Europe before settling down with his two close friends, Olive Richardson and Sayer Smith, in New York. Occasionally, he makes visits to wherever he pleases, but never for long. He had flings with both friends at separate times during high school before breaking up not long after. No other partners he could find after those.

He knows that Dante Draco does not have children, let alone even have a partner. So where did two tiny babies come from? And another good question to ask, why in God’s Green Earth does the demon head want with them?

“I’m going undercover,” he says quickly and swiftly. He might not know his cousin well; however, he does know Ra’s. He doesn’t like the picture this paints and is itching to get his hands on some type of information.

“What?!” He knew that Barbara wouldn't like that, but he wasn’t expecting her to sound so outraged. Maybe because Ra’s is on his shit list? She doesn’t need to worry, he knows how to deal with the demon head.

So he pleads. “It’s our only lead.”

Hook, line, and sinker. “Fuck.” He’s going to fuck with Ra’s if this is his attempt at fucking with him.

It’s awkward to do undercover work as Tim Drake-Wayne instead of another alias. It’s weird to have to pretend to be himself yet not himself. Rubs him the wrong way, just a little. He knocks just like Dante taught him. Two dashes-dot, four dots, three dashes, three dots.

Dante peeps through a crack in the door before brightening (with excitement..?) as he closes the door to undo the latches properly. He opens the door wide, beckoning him in. Tim follows in quickly because what else is he to do?

“Timothy! Welcome!” Dante doesn’t grin, but it’s close to one. He closes the door behind him before looking around for someone. Seems like Ra’s got the hint that they were onto him. Shit. “Where’s that vampire gone…”

What. Dante knows what and who Ra’s is really? Is this a trap? It’s starting to feel like a trap. What the fuck. How does he know?

“Vampire?” Tim asks, a little choked up. Hopefully it can be written off as him being superstitious or whatever. If this isn’t a trap.

“Ah, an inside joke with an asshole/guy I know.” he waves him off just a bit too easily. He looks gleeful to describe the demon head as an ‘asshole’. It’s a correct statement but he looks downright manic about it.

Tim is trying to unscramble the riddle that is most certainly right in front of his face. He’s missing something, that much is clear. It then becomes a question of what is he missing. So he asks a question, “Why are you friends with someone you don’t like?”

“I knew him long, long ago,” he says cryptically. Almost worse than Bruce. Dante cackles almost evilly as he remembers something? Bad vibes, really. Then he adds on offhandly, “I hated him then, kinda hate him now, but I guess he’s growing on me.”

What.

Tim must’ve made a face since Dante just waves him off again. 

“Come meet Dorian Dan Draco and Diara Ellie Draco,” he says with the soft look Tim has ever seen on his face. He didn’t think he could make a face like that, seeing as he’s always scrawling, pouting, and the likes. Dante says it like it matters, like it’s a special moment not to be broken. “My gifts, my blessings, my children.” he whispers, voice breaking at the last word.

There’s a riddle here. The question stays as what is it supposed to be? And what can it mean?
