Doc and Sam | 3.14.15 | sam-guerra | Headcanon
Itād taken Caleb not very long to get himself ready. After all, it was just a simple tapas bar. With his keys in hand, slipping his wallet into the back pocket of his trousers, he sent Samantha a little text to assure her that he was on his way.Ā āOn my way. Hope youāre decent.ā By decent, he meant dressed. Hopefully she wouldnāt take that as an insult. It took him perhaps twenty minutes to make his way over, and once there, he took the liberty of knocking, waiting... waiting, and waiting some more. Caleb truly didnāt mind, though. As laid back as he was, he never really minded much. Besides, who could complain about dinner with a gorgeous, spontaneous woman?Ā
Finally, sheād made it, and after a quick and slightly forced hello was exchanged, Caleb lead Samantha towards his car, one hand in his pocket, the other tossing his keys up in the air before catching them with the sound of a jingle. Opening the door for her to his sleek, black sportscar, he allowed her to situate herself before walking around to the driverās side, getting in and briefly checking his phone for directions.Ā āSo... You like tapas and wine?ā A slight grin appeared upon his face for only a moment.Ā āYouāll love this place, if thatās the case.
All in all, the dining experience was nice. Good atmosphere-- not too romantic, or too blinding. The food was to die for, and the wine... well, Caleb didnāt buy just any wine. Heād always go for the most expensive bottle, no matter where he was. Small talk was exchanged, and of course Caleb, being the charming, yet flighty man he was, did attempt to get a few flirts in, though his eyes did wander a bit to their waitress each time she came to fill their glasses or take a few plates away. It was simply in his nature.Ā
Once back, Caleb felt that it had been a successful night out-- but did Samantha agree? Well, only one way to be sure.Ā āWhat a wonderful time... Letās do this again, but next time, weāll go for something more recreational. Perhaps bowling.ā Caleb squinted and bit his bottom lip as his sentence ended, though the corners of his lips turned upward in the slightest. By the end of it all, heād lean in to give her a harmless hug, having to lean down just a bit due to the inconvenient height difference, but he found it rather adorable.Ā āAre you alright...? I mean, I could come in if you like for a bit, but I do have work very early tomorrow. Another 24-hour shift.ā The exasperation on his face was very real. Sure he loved his job, but sometimes it really was overbearing what-with his family badgering him all day at the same time as prepping for surgeries.Ā
Deciding against it, Caleb grinned crookedly.Ā āI should go... Yeah... but bowling? Iām holding you to it, Patient Sam.ā With a wink followed by a slight wave, he made his way back to his car. Successful date? Caleb certainly thought so.Ā
