I canāt not reblog this. I tried⦠impossible.Ā
LIL BABBY
U CANT SCARE THE OCEAN
GO LAY DOWN
IT LOOKS LIKE TOOTHLESS
I like to believe that all the dragons in the world were magically cursed and turned into cats. But cats have never forgotten where they come from, hence the attitude.
I nearly didnāt reblog this but the above comment makes more sense than anything Iāve ever heard.
Soft things my dad has done
One time when he was 18, he was fishing and found a baby salamander someone had tried and failed to use as bait. It had a huge gash in its side and didnāt look like it would make it. He put it in the bucket he was going to put fish in and took it home, then performed āsurgeryā on the little guy to mend the gash. It couldnāt move, so my dad fed it and nursed it back to health until the gash was healed. Since heād taken it in as a baby, it wasnāt equipped to stay alive in the wild, so he kept it in a giant aquarium next to his bed. It stayed alive until my sister was born six years later.
His dad took him deer hunting once when he was in middle school. They hunted all day and never saw a single deer. At the end of the day as the sun was setting, they found one, and my dad yelled at my grandpa not to shoot it because it didnāt deserve to die. He hasnāt been deer hunting since.
Two people I used to be best friends with donāt have stable parents. My dad takes them out for lunch and out fishing regularly, and even though I am not friends with either of them anymore, he still makes time for them as if they were his own kids.
Sometimes I catch him crying at videos of dogs on the internet.
One time he was crying and I asked him what was wrong and he gave me a hug and said there isnāt always a reason. Iāve held on to that.
He told me that if (if) he dies, he wants to die by being drowned in a horde of puppies because otherwise, whatās the point?
He makes sure to say āI love youā to my mom and me every day, because he once told me he never once heard it from his parents as a kid.
Saw my mom looking at a bird, so he found out what kind of bird it was and drew a picture of it for her.
Heard me crying after a hard day and brought me a box of milk duds, because even though Iām lactose intolerant, it was an occasion on which they were needed.
Shows me every day that men who feel allowed to be open, vulnerable, soft, and emotional are so much happier than men who are told to keep it all inside.
You know what I think is really cool about language (English in this case)? Itās the way you can express āI donāt knowā without opening your mouth. All you have to do is hum a low note, a high note, then another lower note. The same goes for yes and no. Does anyone know what this is called?
These are called vocables, a form of non-lexical utterance - that is, wordlike sounds that arenāt strictly words, have flexible meaning depending on context, and reflect the speakers emotional reaction to the context rather than stating something specific. They also include uh-oh! (thatās not good!), uh-huh and mm-hmm (yes), uhn-uhn (no), huh? (what?), huh⦠(oh, I seeā¦), hmmn⦠(I wonder⦠/ maybeā¦), awww! (thatās cute!), aww⦠(darn itā¦), um? (excuse me; that doesnāt seem right?), ugh and guh (expressions of alarm, disgust, or sympathy toward somebody elseās displeasure or distress), etc.
Every natural human language has at least a few vocables in it, and filler words likeĀ āumā andĀ āermā are also part of this overall class of utterances. TechnicallyĀ āvocableā itself refers to a wider category of utterances, but these types of sounds are the ones most frequently being referred to, when the word is used.
Reblog if u just hummed all of these out loud as you read them

Why do the movies never show us this Spider-Man?
Fun fact Spider-man once beat the Hulk by telling him a joke that was so funny he turned back into Bruce Banner to laugh

A group of rough looking boys walked past me today and all I heard of their conversation was āheās got that anxiety disorder bro so I went with him so heād be more comfortableā and it made me realise the world isnāt all that bad

The pet store I worked at had a pen with rabbits near the front door. On every side of the pen were huge signs saying āYou can pet me, but donāt pick me up!ā One day two absolutely huge guys came in and one immediately reaches into the pen to grab a rabbit. Before i could say anything his friend grabbed his arm and asked him ādid you see the sign?ā He said āyeah! it says that you can pick them up but donāt pet them!ā Then he went quiet for a moment and softly said āI didnāt read it right did I?ā And his friend just puts his arm on his shoulder and said āits ok, i know youāve got that thing where words get mixed up. Let just pet these cute lil shitsā And I still havenāt gotten over that interaction.
I was walking my dog through Boston bc he likes the likes car rides. Heās a little thing tbh we call him short and long. So this huge scary man with a full beard approaches me like āhey can my buddy and I pet your dog? He gets nervous around dogs but yourās is so small I think itās a good place to start.ā Ofc I was like āyes heās very friendly!ā So this guy brings his equally big friend over and they sit on the floor while this man looks terrified of my tiny dog so big man number one asks ācan I pick him up?ā And i say yes so he picks him up and puts him on man number twoās lap and man number two is abt to freak out and his friend straight up just goes āhey man, itās okay just relax Iād never let anything hurt you. Heās a good boy.ā Iāll never forget it ever bc I know that man looked at me (5'3 , glasses, probably wearing a sweater vest) and my dog (kinda goofy looking little thing) and was like āah yes the two least intimidating living things Iāve seen in Boston all day heāll feel relaxed around themā and went out of his way to help his friend. It makes me so happy
A good post, pure.
Another adorable story has been added.
can I have these posted right under the politics section in the newspaper? I feel like we need that kinda positivity rn.
