Brooo the news of the Elden Ring movie and the first set photos we saw of the set/actors make me nervous as hell. I don't even know why. It's just that I'm sooo afraid the movie might be trash/bad or cringey considering it might very well (and hopefully regarding the box office numbers) attract an audience, which isn't as familiar with the source material or maybe never even has played the game. The task of fulfilling fans' expectations and satisfying a more casual audience almost seems impossible to me, considering Elden Ring's complex lore. On the one hand I'm excited to see the world coming to life on the big screen but on the other I'm so afraid, it will flop and tarnish (lol) Elden Ring's reputation. Especially since I've come across a lot of people lately who feel like the lore is trash/convoluted anyway and that the movie might contribute to that mindset if the storytelling is not done correctly. I don't know man, I think we just gotta trust A24 and Garland. I don't want to question his abilities as a director and storyteller (especially because he directed one of my favourite movies) but this whole thing makes me nervous as fuck. (Ironically, I do not feel this way about the Sekiro anime or Jacksepticeye's Bloodborne movie project and I think it just has to do with the sheer amount of lore, storylines and characters Elden Ring offers. How do you push all of this into ONE 2 hour movie???) (The one thing keeping me a little bit excited is the fact that maaaaaybe, just maaaaaaybe we get a life-action Mohg but I'm not gonna set my hopes to high </3)
