Dragnet Mag now on indefinite hiatus

Hey pals, if you missed the news at the launch party, Issue 9 (up now at http://dragnetmag.net) is going to be our last issue, as we are going on indefinite hiatus. Our website is going to stay up for the forseeable future, so you can still read all the issues for free and you can still order print copies of Dragnet Anthology 1 through it (and Dragnet Anthology 1 is available as an eBook on Kobo). Thanks for a wonderful three years, everyone. Huge Props for Andrew F. Sullivan

Sister Ray 24:03 11-7-69 The Velvet Underground's 1969 Lineup (John Cale & Nico had left the band): -Lou Reed -- vocals, rhythm and lead guitar -Sterling Morrison -- lead and rhythm guitar, backing vocals -Doug Yule -- bass guitar, organ, backing vocals -Maureen Tucker -- percussion, lead vocals on "After Hours", & "I'm Sticking with You" These recordings come from audience tapes recorded by Robert Quine, then a fan of The Velvet Underground. Years later, Quine came to prominence himself as an admired guitarist in Richard Hell & the Voidoids, & eventually got to play guitar with Lou on two Lou Reed albums, "The Blue Mask", & "Legendary Hearts", & he toured with Lou as part of his band in the 1980s.

We here at Dragnet are pleased as punch to have our hands on a copy of contributor Mike Blouin’s new book, I Don’t Know How to Behave, and also pleased, maybe not quite as much as punch but maybe as much as a like really refreshing vodka soda, to see that he listed Dragnet in his author bio!

(Adam has read at a launch for an author who was unable to attend, Illya has art and design work for Dragnet in the past, and Illya and Math together created the music video for Math Rosen's song "Dragnet," which featured members of the Dragnet editorial team.)
