Every time I play Origins I get horribly blindsided by how often Wynne will tell the Warden to seek martyrdom and constantly self-sacrifice. It hits a lot especially playing a female mage... how much of that does she actually believe, and how much of that are the lies she desperately told herself to make life in the Circle possible? They took her freedom, her child, her life, and so Wynne is convinced that you have to be willing to sacrifice yourself for some "greater good". It's just safer for the warden to believe now, so that anything later won't hurt them as much. Wynne makes me so unwell...
Vallaslins aren't for beauty
I'm 17, and I haven't gotten my vallaslin yet. That's not too bad, very few people have been judged ready this young, anyway. Except Adahlen. He's undergoing the ritual, right now. They waited far too long for him, if you ask me. He's always been ready. Always mature, focused, judicious. And here I am, painting my face as if I were playing with dolls.
I'm 17, and even if they hadn't declined my request for a vallaslin twice already, it wouldn't have mattered. I still don't know what God I should choose for myself. All the other girls and boys in the clan have chosen theirs. Adahlen has been saying he wanted Dirthamen since he was six years old. And here I am, painting June's symbol on my skin only because I think it might look pretty on my features.
I'm 17, and despite it all I can't wait to get my vallaslin, whenever that may be. My mother says I'm a late bloomer. That I just have to be patient and everything will come at the right time. Well, surprise! I'm very bad at waiting. At this very moment my best friend is suffering through one thousand needles to become officially an adult. And here I am, hidden in the dark, because I haven't even had the patience to wait for him outside the Keeper's tent to see what he looks like once the ritual is done. How can they hope I'll have enough patience to wait for my own time to come?
I'm 17, and maybe they are right. I am not ready yet. I wonder if I'll ever be.
btw I’ve found these stretches from the WAK blog very helpful when knitting a lot:
Plus make sure to take breaks regularly - and stop if anything starts to hurt!
especially with gift knitting I know it can be tempting to push through it for a deadline, but it’s really not worth causing long term injury. (And anyone knit-worthy should be understanding of that, imho.) Stay well :)
Also good for artists drawing with pencils/on a tablet/with a pen!
Also good for writers
And crocheters (that word looks wrong)

Comment on fanfics
A few days back on AO3 I found an unfinished, two chapter spideypool fanfic that was cute and had lots of potential and was also last updated two years ago. Two whole years! And it had only three comments, all of which on chapter one, none on chapter two. I enjoyed the fanfic, despite it being far, FAR from being finished and the chance of it ever updating again anytime soon was just about zero. So you know what I did?
I wrote a damn comment. On chapter two.
And I made sure that fucker was long and had a small theory of where I think the author would take the fanfic in the future. I let the person behind the fic know that I friggin LOVED the two chapters I got to read! That I would LOVE to see more! That I’d jump out of my skin in happiness and virtually hug them half to death if I saw that they updated it.
Let me remind you this fic wasn’t updated in two YEARS! I was the first to comment on it in a year. And the first to comment on chapter two! And you know what happened today?
I got a reply.
From the author of the fanfic. And the author said how I gave them life for a project they had loved (still did) and that they were now working on a third chapter. After two YEARS of not updating. Of not writing. And it makes me so friggin happy seeing what I did. What I caused.
With a single. Damn. Comment.
All that it took for me was to think a bit about what I wanted to tell the author and the comment it. All it took was one comment. And suddenly this person was inspired to continue a fanfic they had abandoned for TWO YEARS!!
I couldn’t be happier. I couldn’t be more proud.
Comment on people’s fanfics. No matter how few chapters there are. No matter how many years have passed since their last update. Comment. You like a fanfic? Comment on it. It’s that easy.
Or, also, reblog. Cause if you loved it enough to share it with other people? Woah. Knock me over.
Reblog if you write fan fiction
Doesn’t matter if you write in a frequent basis, or once in a blue moon, just how many of us are there?

Simple Asks no. 3 and 6 if you like?
Also, happy new year!!🍀🎊 i hope it welcomed you gently!
3. What are you looking forward to?
My travel buddy and I are going back to Scotland this summer and I'm training to be able to hike Arthur's Seat!
6. What is your hair routine?
I always have colored hair so I wash it in cold water twice a week, sometimes more if I actually manage to do 4 workouts in a week. My scalp along my hairline has been annoyingly dry most of this year so I've cut back on blow drying it to like every other wash. I use a leave in conditioner after the shower and heat protector when I dry it but I'm mostly kinda lazy.
Oh and I use a rosemary serum on my scalp before washing my hair! It's helped with growing it out, although I'm ready to chop off a few inches for sure.
I have unfortunately spent this evening fighting off a cold that can't decide if it's going to set in or not but I hope you had a lovely evening and that 2026 is kind to us all 💖

Fiercly Protective Dialogue
“Do you really think a mere prophecy would stop me from saving you?”
whispering “Are you okay?” in a crowded place
“I don’t need you to coddle me.” “No, you don’t. But I need to protect you, you understand?”
“If only they knew what I would do to keep you safe. Maybe they’d behave then.”
“I’ll follow you to the bitter end. And beyond.”
“You’re gonna get killed protecting me.” “Gladly.”
“Don’t apologize, not to me. Never to me.”
“I haven’t felt unsafe once since meeting you.”
“Rather me than you.”
“I wasn’t kidding when I said I’d kill for you, you know?” “I’m starting to get that.”
“It’s gonna take a lot more than that to stop me from keeping you safe.”
“I will shield your body with mine any day of the week.”
“May I ask for a favor? When I tell you to run… Run. Don't look back.”
“Why are you so determined to keep me alive?” “You know why.”
“Do you want me to kill them?”
“Your protection is not my duty, but my destiny.”
“One word, and they’re gone.” “Not yet.”
(guy whos doing normal mentally) I need to replay dragon age 2.
(Girl who’s solidly grounded in reality) I need to replay Dragon Age: Origins.
