the eternal dragon squints, assuming the worst, and slowly slinks back from where he rose up. he hopes now that maybe the wisher will go away and pretend that none of this ever happened. he rather avoid these kinds of questions.

the item wished for by the greyface gently drifted down onto the ground in front of them in spite of the weight it carried.

“Happy flying.”

shenlong do you like music? if yes what kind? i mean, you can't just sleep or eat when you're lazing around without wishes to grant right?

“You’d be surprised”

he lowered himself onto the ground, swallowing what food he had left in his mouth from dinner. Per usual, the three star spirit was unreadable as the tone they used when they asked the most profound questions. the dragon simply learned not to question it, but always took note of their word choice.

he stared down at the other, body still shifting around in the sky from his grant entrance. it was still uncomfortable to be summoned by one of many enemies, especially when they were of the immortal, super powerful variety-- the ones that could easily one shot him if he said something wrong. then again, as weak as he was, he wouldn’t be surprised if yamcha could kill him with his wolf fang fist or something.

his face remained expressionless, but he could feel the aforementioned orb grow two sizes in his pocket. it wasn’t surprising that someone would come for the wish it granted, but the last words that fell from his mouth felt like a warning.

“It’s a usual occurrence, but for it to work the others need to also be present.”

shenron made a mental note to prepare himself for the possible visitor, which included keeping the wish granting object as lose to him as possible. people had tried to steal it only to realize that even as a paperweight it was useless. it always returned to the shop, no matter how far it drifted away.

The Fourth had little reason to be here, besides sating a personal curiosity of his. There was an object here that he felt the need to check on after all this time, but that was only a side point. He lowered his hood, letting his - perhaps oddly - dull eyes casually examine the store a bit better.

“But I’m looking for a new chess set.”

No point in explaining why, as this man most likely did not really care for such petty reasons.

he grunted, setting down the feather duster next to the porcelain figurine he return to later. his eyes glaze around the shelves that line the walls before ducking into the back of the shop blocked off with a violet curtain.

shenron emerged moments later with three chess sets, each with varying degrees of wear on their wooden surfaces. they all looked very much the same except for one with a nasty, chipped-off corner.

“I don’t have any new ones, but these are the best ones I’ve got. They’re also the only ones with a full set of pieces. Many of the other ones I’ve got are missing knights or pawns.”
