I find Bolaire's lines about 'belonging' to Thimble or Hal so jarring and strange. I don't think he actually thought that, he was just being passive aggressive. Like, why are you mad a dead guy was uncomfortable with a serial killer god killing mask around his brother and his partner? Some of the table didn't know you were even a mask until this episode, and while Misha had a great time, you certainly didn't treat your other hosts well? It hasn't been said how it was found out, but he killed a bunch of Falconers in his sleep and continued killing afterwards for more bodies. Being scared and wary of what someone like that could or would do is reasonable?
As for looping everyone in, no. People were contacts and were doing favours for him but werent truly going to get involed. If all had gone well, everyone would have continued with their lives and jobs, and the risk would have remained on Thjazi trying to make a way to the Tenebral Reachers.
It's almost a strange mix where Bolaire wants to be more important than he was, outwardly resents he wasn't, and covers it up by blaming everyone else.
it really pisses me off when adults sit there and drill it into kids’ heads that their youth is fleeting and tell them things like “enjoy your childhood while it lasts because this is the best it’s gonna get”. why are you telling children that adulthood is the worst thing they can experience? seriously what the fuck is wrong with you, why are you trying to make them feel like growing up is a fate worse than death? trying to convince them their life is over before it even begins? i’m tired of that shit. because tell my why my 12 year old cousin told me when she turns 30 she’ll be so depressed she’s just gonna cry all the time. what the fuck. kids don’t need to hear that their already stressful and overwhelming lives are never going to get better, that the abuse and lack of autonomy they face is apparently the highlight of their lives. they need to hear about adults who are happy to be alive and happy to have made it to their age. they need to know that growing up rules, it’s a gift and life does not have to suck for them, that they have a future that’s worth sticking around for. this rhetoric is so damaging mentally and i’m about to start hitting the adults who parrot it. i’m sorry you hate your life but you don’t get to dump your issues on these kids. don’t piss me off and leave these babies alone!
Oh how I love my chaotic pathetic demon girls.

Many lgbt teenagers and young adults growing up on the internet today have socially conservative beliefs that they voice at all times that they got from their conservative parents which they’ve never challenged because they think the life experience of being gay or trans makes them politically progressive
This is why I hate it when people say something homophobic and then go “so you’re really accusing me, a whole ass lesbian, of being homophobic 🙄” like yeah
Camelot where Merlin came back after Camlann
I have nothing respectful to say
And then you can’t even say shit about bc people start trying to put you in a jacket and shit. Like omg it’s so strict???

reading a historical romance novel and reflecting on the way these stories often present woke nobility for the contemporary reader. a big thing is servants. you can’t not have servants in those times but many modern readers think “but I would never have servants. it would be so weird to have servants” and in order to make the protagonists of the story more relatable they are actually friends with the servants. but flip your perspective and think of it from the side of the servants. wouldn’t it be so awful if your boss was always trying to be friends with you. a really common thing you’ll see is the woke baronet having tea in the kitchen with the servants bc he’s not like other baronets. but what if your boss wanted to hang out and talk during your lunch break every day. not so charming when you think about it that way
Y'all.
I did some digging.
The word that led to all this was "scry".
Shit be wildin on threads this week
You should also be able to figure out what a text is saying without understanding every word. 90% of the time you'll do just fine even if a word is unfamiliar. You should be able to understand the meaning of a word through context, or at least the meaning of the sentence or paragraph. There are some rare instances where the specific word is crucial, but most of the time it's not necessary to understand the text.
This is a skill you are taught in foreign language classes btw. When you get to a certain level, they give you texts with words you probably don't know yet, and you have to summarise the text without looking any of them up. It really helps with your literacy skills. I can really recommend picking up some books with unfamiliar vocabulary and trying to understand it without looking up words
