Well the post I made earlier apparently vanished, so take two: welcome back to the last Show and Tell Saturday of May! I'm on the hunt for quilting inspiration as I design some wall hangings for my bedroom. What's new in your world this week?
we finished the project we started last week! that being a small plush moth for our partner which we made the pattern for!
we're very happy with how it came out!
prev asked for more info so:
it is approximately 7cm from antenna to the end of the wings (near the butt) and 10cm across the widest part of the wings
the materials are felt, sewing machine thread (it goes through felt better than embroidery thread in my experience), and stuffing for inside the body
we can totally make an actual pattern for this! or at least a usable-to-someone-else pattern, since this was the prototype version! we'll share it here when it's done.
and tada!
we've never made a sewing pattern before, nor do we often use them, so we're not super familiar with how they are typically done. i hope this is useful to anyone interested!
some additional notes:
"attach" just means sew it on. maybe that's front stitch maybe that's backstitch i don't know.
ladder stitch is probably not the best stitch but it gets the seams on the inside so that's what i used!
put stuffing in the body! i realise that that is not on there. um. yeah.
upper and lower wings should overlap
you may just need to use your best judgement for some of this. i believe in you.
feel free to ask us for clarifications!
