I relate to this, though I’m aware not all people on the spectrum experience this. For me, I can’t socialise in groups, in person or online. It is too overwhelming for me. Though there is always that feeling of watching groups socialize and enjoy themselves and thinking to myself “why can’t I do the same?”

Even tonight when I was on a gaming server voice call with a friend and then one of their friends suddenly joined, I instantly froze and couldn’t even find my voice to speak to them. No words could come out. Not even a greeting. They weren’t even bothered by it anyway, since they just spoke to my friend.. but it is still something I wish I could do.
