[16:37] sighing loudly, you looked over to boyfriend!jaehyun who was invested in the video game he was playing. headset on and chattering away fastly to taeyong. this meant he spared you no attention. at first it was fine but he had been relentlessly playing for the last three hours meaning you had been scrolling through social media for the last three hours also.

as nochalantly as possible, you stood your phone against the coffee table ornament piece. jaehyun laughed at something said on the headset, hands diligently playing over the controller.

you stood next to him, pulling at his arm and he released the vice grip he had on the controller, shooting you a quizzical look which soon softened as you rested your weight on his lap and wrapped your arms around his neck.

you heard a muffled voice from jaehyun’s headset. “jaehyun? are you there?”

“sorry, taeyong... i gotta... i gotta go.” and with that he cancelled mid-game, dropping the controller beside him and pulling you tight to his chest. “has someone been missing me?” he hummed, placing a chaste kiss to your cheek.

you nodded, giggling into his neck.

“hmm...” jaehyun started twirling a piece of your hair between his fingers. “wish you interrupted me earlier. this is much more fun.”

you set up the camera discretely, just out of view of boyfriend!lucas not that he would notice as he was enthralled by the video game he was playing. he sat on the edge of his bed, eyes glued to the TV screen and dark eyebrows furrowed in concentration.

softly, you plodded over to him. tugging at his arm and automatically, without even sparing you a glance, lucas opened his arms to give you space to wriggle in.

as soon as you were comfy, cuddling into the soft material of his grey hoodie, he giggled by your ear. “what’s this for, baby?” gently nosing the side of your neck and placing a delicate kiss- eyes still trained on the game.

victory music played from the screen followed quickly by the rustling of the game controller being shoved somewhere and his hands finding purchase on your waist “look at that, i won even when you tried to distract me.” he teased, pulling back to kiss you once. twice. smiling widely.

and with that, he flopped back on the bed, pulling you with him and entangling your limbs as you lay against his chest.

[08:14am] watching husband!jaehyun combing your daughters hair ready for school. Standing behind her as she patiently sat cross legged on yours and Jaehyun’s shared bed. Gently tugging the pink detangling hairbrush through the knots in her hair and her eyes drooping slightly from how relaxing it felt.

“What do you want to do with it today?” He asked softly, smoothing down any fly away hairs.

“Hmmm...” she paused, tapping her small fingers against her chin consideringly. “I want it plaited, please!”

Nodding, he got to work, running a finger down her parting. “You’re going to be the prettiest one there.” He boasted, tickling the back of her neck as she let out a squeal of joy.

And as you studied the scene in front, you couldn’t help but notice how similar her smile was to her father’s own.

1:16 the tension was unbearable. the numbers flashing a knowing red. everyone held their breath.

1:17 another second, the cage wasn’t visible. completely hidden in thick toxic smoke.

1:18 a crackle and a sound similar to an explosion startled you, this was the moment of truth.

1 minute and 19 seconds. from behind you, ghosting the shell of your ear was a voice you’d know.

“boo.” illusionist!jeno appeared from behind your seat, flourishing his arms that were previously cuffed. he smiled knowingly, watching the thrilling shiver run through your spine.

jeno was an illusionist and that made him a wonder at mind games too.
