Philosophy:
Mystic Flour Cookie’s goal is to grant all cookie enlightenment after the destruction of her cocoon and the revelation she received that Apathy must be the solution. Apathy, in her mind, detaches cookies from greedy, worldly desires, and will make cookies feel at peace and prevent suffering. Due to her being abandoned and betrayed by the very cookies she used to serve, she feels as if she needs to grant enlightenment to all cookiekind, even if her methods are not the best to achieve this. She thinks she is doing all cookies a favor by essentially ending their lives early so they may not suffer, but she is taking away cookies' individuality and wills as a cover up for her own pain and loss of status as a saint.
Instead of moving forward, she instead retreated into her own world, citing Apathy as the only way to release cookies from the pains of the world. Mystic Flour Cookie not moving on from her moment of weakness, her Volition slipping away, her legacy of helping cookies forgotten by cookiekind, is a contrast to Dark Cacao Cookie, who despite fearing that all his actions and suffering will have been forgotten, realises that even if he is forgotten his determination and Resolution to move forward and protect his kingdom no matter what is what will be remembered and succeeded by his son and subjects. His individuality is what allowed him to make it this far, his suffering and fighting is what made him stronger, so falling to Apathy could never be an option for him. He finds meaning in his suffering because in the end, what he does now will have an impact for generations.
Burning Spice Cookie needs no introduction, he went insane due to seeing his kingdoms rise and fall over and over again, never able to make them last (at least a significant portion of time anyway)? We don’t really know how long they lasted but assuming it was the average length of 300-400 years and he had a lot, it makes sense he would eventually go insane. His desensitization of cookie lives comes from a broad perspective, much like Mystic Flour Cookie
I may add, of seeing his possessions get destroyed. Forced to watch as everything he did became meaningless in his eyes, watching History unfold the same way over and over again without any true change. Losing track of how many kingdoms he created, probably interacting with his subjects I assume because it would be dumb if he didn’t, stuck in this perpetual cycle.
Reaching his breaking point, he turned to Destruction as he saw it was the only way to create true Change and alleviate his boredom and stagnation. He goes around decimating nations, creating a culture of oppression that culls the weak and praises the strong. Power and strength are the only things that matter, and without it there’s no use in you even existing. This stems from his failure to make his kingdoms last, and is clearly being insecure in that fact. He literally includes the source of his power for everyone to see because he thought he wasn’t strong enough to save his treasures, if that’s not insecure I don’t know what it is. He ravages the land, ruling through fear and thinks granting those that he battles death as a mercy. This persona that he put on for himself, a hulking figure of power, strength, and a brute that only wants to see death and destruction, is only half of the truth. On the inside, he’s a grief-stricken figure, who after being stuck in this cycle for so long, longs for his own demise, a victim of his own immortality. His lust for destruction doesn’t hold him for long, as it’s a temporary fix for the emptiness in his heart. To contrast with Golden Cheese Cookie, who lost everything during the war, who thought she also needed strength to continue to protect her treasures. Her greed causes her to make foolish decisions while it also being her greatest strength. In the end, something happens where she realizes that she will do everything to protect her cookies or something. I am not sure, the writing for the episodes were really bad.
Both Mystic Flour Cookie and Burning Spice Cookie are:
1.Set on the end of the world due to their mental breaks that caused them to come to a single conclusion
2.Both view cookie lives as individuals as meaningless
3.Both have a theme of forgotten legacies, Mystic Flour Cookieuses her Apathy as a means to forget about her legacy of granting wishes and Burning Spice Cookie wants to erase the legacy of his failures
4.Both are have suicidal tendencies in the sense they see death, in the case of Mystic Flour Cookie returning to flour, as a means to end suffering, or in the case of Burning Spice Cookie for himself, the cycle of change. Mystic Flour Cookie expresses awe in her defeated quotes and Burning Spice Cookie in many of his regular quotes, and wonders what it will take to destroy him.
5.Both also are set on erasing the world through indiscriminate means, that being Thanos snapping and just destroying stuff
6.Both have a tie to individuality in their stories, Mystic Flour Cookie thinks getting rid of it will lead to peace and Burning Spice no longer sees cookies as individuals but just things that will eventually get destroyed
7.Both want to speed up the process of life, that being they’re trying to end things early in respect to their own beliefs
8.Both suppresses themselves and use their newfound virtue to take it out on others (applies to the rest of the beasts but I’ll put it here anyway)
9.Both deal with the feeling of, in a lack of better words, “tis’ but a fleeting moment” Mystic Flour Cookie says as such in her quotes and Burning Spice Cookie, obviously, has issues with impermanence
10.Both are 2 sides of the same coin. They both think nothing matters, but Burning Spice Cookie is an Absurdist and Mystic Flour Cookie is a Nihilist. She thinks, “Nothing matters so lets turn everyone to flour,” while he thinks, “Nothing matters, so let’s have fun causing the end of the world!”
So, thematically they are similar in their philosophies with individuality, meaningless in life, and legacy being core themes.
Inspirations:
As we know Burning Spice Cookie is inspired off of the Hindi god Shiva, its also commonly known Mystic Flour Cookie is inspired off of the Mahayana Buddhist Bodhisattva Guanyin, BUT two things can be true at once as seen in White Lily Cookies inspirations, she is both based off Snow White and Saint Mary, so this could apply to Mystic Flour Cookie, Mystic Flour Cookie and Parvati have many similarities, with this i’ll name a few
Isolation: To win Shiva, Parvati retreated to the mountains and performed many years of meditation, severing her ties to all worldly comfort so she can achieve a higher state of consciousness. This is similar to when Mystic Flour Cookie retreated to her cocoon to achieve enlightenment.
Multiple Arms: While Mystic Flour Cookie’s visual design is primarily inspired by the Buddhist Bodhisattva Guanyin, her use of multiple limbs introduces a fascinating cultural subversion. In Buddhist iconography, Guanyin’s thousand arms represent omnipresent compassion, functioning as tools to peacefully alleviate human suffering. Conversely, as seen in Beast-Yeast Episode 14, Mystic Flour Cookie manifests her extra limbs exclusively during moments of intense wrath and aggression. This aggressive depiction directly mirrors the iconography of the Hindu goddess Parvati, who physically grows multiple arms to wield weapons when transforming into her warrior avatars like Durga. Whether this parallel is intentional or coincidental, It is still interesting to see this.
It can be noted too that Mystic Flour Cookie is seemingly able to calm Burning Spice Cookie down just as Parvati can do to Lord Shiva.
Mountains: Mystic Flour Cookies Ivory Pagoda is on top of a mountain, her beast raid form is a mountain. Parvati is also associated with mountains through, as stated before, her meditation to win shiva.
Interactions:
The two of them interact frighteningly little, but when they do, it is a wellspring of information that proves why it's canon. While interacting, Burning Spice Cookie comments on how quickly Mystic Flour Cookie left, meaning he was actively observing and interested in why she left. This is very important. He also states before that HE found HER, meaning he was LOOKING for her!
Not to mention, in the Wind, Vanquisher of Darkness update, Burning Spice Cookie was the second to awaken and leave AND one of the Beasts had already left, this assumed to be Mystic Flour Cookie. This can only mean that he was actively watching her in some regard and piqued his interest enough to seek her out. Literally, because he’s diagonally across from her and definitely saw her break out of the tubes they were in.
Mystic Flour Cookie, simply stating the order of their departure is not important to her, teaching Apathy is her sole focus. Burning Spice Cookie then tells her to not get in his way, specifically, “Whatever you say. Just don’t get in my way!” Now, why would Burning Spice Cookie, the guy who loves to fight, tell her to stay away from him. Unlike the other beasts, he either asks them for a fight, or provokes them into one in the case of Eternal Sugar Cookie. He specifically tells HER to stay away, which speaks volumes.
Mystic Flour Cookie, in a display of non-Apathy if you ask me, says she pities anyone who doesn’t see the merit of crumbling before his hand. GANG, SHE AGREES WITH HIM! Mind you, Burning Spice Cookie is the only other beast that she can have a shared philosophy with about her Apathy towards the world. She says there’s no place for it in Shadow Milk Cookie’s heart, she doesn’t have an answer for Eternal Sugar Cookie, and she and Silent Salt Cookie don’t even talk. It makes sense for the reasons I had in Evidence 1. They both see crumbling as a mercy, something that allows freedom and escape, so it makes complete sense that they would share this twisted sense of liberation.
She also acknowledges that, much like her time granting wishes, Destruction is a cycle that’s inevitably pointless. Why else would she say this if not to relate to the fact that she understands his position to some extent?
The battle quotes may be a source of contention with this, BUT I’d argue it still works because I classify it as witty banter between people who like each other.
Hotel Subtext:
Frequently both Burning Spice Cookie and Mystic Flour Cookie (also their minions) are able to smoothly transition into each other's dialogue without much pushback. Such examples lie here:
Also notice how neither of them interject at all to say who’s the strongest? They do get interrupted by Shadow Milk Cookie, but who knows.
Quite interesting that it’s Cloud Haetae Cookie interjecting
Like I said before, they both smoothly transitioned with each other. He literally finishes the sentence, what else do you need?
It’s also interesting how, again, they both seem pretty ecstatic (maybe content in Mystic Flour Cookie’s case) that someone has crumbled themselves. Perhaps it’s a bit morbid, but at this point it’s a normal occurrence for the two of them.
Pure Saffron Theory:
The saffron is the world's most expensive and sought after spice, the saffron flower also has a long history of being used as dye, while it was most frequently used as orange, yellow or red dye the left over petals of the saffron could also be used as dye. The saffron is a very vibrant purple but when the petals produce their dye it is a light lavender-ish color.
Hmm.. It's in the realm of possibilities that the Herald of Change had dyed her garments as a gift….
Her Symbol in His Temple
If this isn’t the most damning piece of evidence for this ship, I don’t know what is
Like what else do you need? It's so clear.
Promotional Images:
In image one Burning Spice Cookie is seen gesturing or reacting to her shivering, then summoning fire, warming her up. Then in image three because Mystic Flour Cookie is cold she sees Silent Salt Cookie drinking hot cocoa, then picture four Mystic Flour Cookie is leaning into Burning Spice Cookie while sipping hot cocoa as it seems she got him to share hot cocoa with him, side note: Mystic Flour Cookie and Burning Spice Cookie are the only ones wearing a santa hat meaning they chose to be matching.
Then in another promotional image they are by each other once more.
Promotional Videos:
Here in Burning Spice Cookies’ promotional video we see her video in his watch later, not only that but her other video pops up in his recommended, quite interesting.
AND in Mystic Flour Cookies promotional video when she reads tweets when asked what she thought of Shadow Milk Cookies’ video she said “His bad TAKES” not “his bad take” plurrel.. So not just herself… and Burning Spice Cookie is the only other person she knows on the tier list.
Loading Screens:
As seen in the loading screen of “The One of Darkness Absolute” Mystic Flour Cookie is seen LOOKING at Burning Spice Cookie.
Then in this loading screen Burning Spice Cookie is looking at Mystic Flour Cookie, which is odd because We all know Burning Spice Cookie LOVES war, conflict and carnage so why would he be looking at Mystic Flour Cookie(to which he doesn't fight in the war) before the war, it wouldn't make sense unless he was checking on her to make sure she was okay before battle..
And they chose to be next to each other here because they weren't standing in release order.
Minigames:
Ore mining game:
Mystic Flour Cookie and Burning Spice Cookie are the only beasts to have a combo together in the Ore mining game.
The season that they were introduced in is named after them, volition meaning will, and herald of change being heavily involved with history.
Abyss of the four:
Burning Spice Cookie is immune to apathy.. Almost as if she wouldn’t wanna hurt him.. Hmm
And they are right next to each other so they wouldn't have to walk downstairs if the other one was in trouble.
“Shes apathetic she couldn't possibly love anyone!!”
Yes she's so apathetic she was angered on two occasions,
She laughed and almost cried in the game too. I could go on but there's really not much more I need to show for my point to stand.
Silver Tree Placement:
Again it is not going in release date order but Burning Spice Cookie and Mystic Flour Cookie were sealed next to each other for THOUSANDS of years which might've been their only comfort.
Death Pictures
With the way the beasts are placed when we see them die, Burning Spice Cookie is shown on his knees looking downwards to the left and Mystic Flour Cookie is laying on her side looking slightly upwards to the right.
Even without considering this construction, the original image can convey the same thing if we consider Shadow Milk Cookie to be in the middle and the rest of the beasts are surrounded in a circle.
Dark Cacao Cookie’s Legendary Costume Theory:
As we know Dark Cacao Cookie is NOT associated with orange-red or yellow.. But you know who is?? Burning Spice Cookie. In the costume story this is basically an AU of if Dark Cacao Cookie surrendered to Mystic Flour Cookie meaning they are basically gonna tag team the whole world and turn it into apathy, so what if Mystic Flour Cookie projected Burning Spice Cookie onto Dark Cacao Cookie because then again Dark Cacao is not associated with these colors(except for purple) there's no one else she knows that wears these colors(except for Dark Enchantress Cookie but who are we kidding.) It might just be a stretch but it's interesting to think about.
Cookie Calenders:
I’m sure everyone knows Peach Blossom Cookie is apart of Mystic Flour Cookies domain and that Nutmeg Tiger Cookie is Burning Spice Cookies general so placing them here especially after Fount of Knowledge had mentioned the two right by each other as if they are trying to warm us up for something between the two before the hareld of change update.
Shadow Milk Cookie’s Soul Fragment
In the River of Tartarus update, it was mentioned Herald of Change and Flour of Volition both aided in the research of the Witches souls’ whereabouts. Herald of Change was asked to create a space of perpetual destruction and creation, and it was observed that the souls of desert creatures have a faint bridge between the living and Tartarus when brought back from the brink of death by Flour of Volition.
Both are shown to have control over the cycle of life and death in some way which furthers their connection to each other.
Flammable Flour Theory
Both are based on powdery ingredients and, fun fact, flour is very flammable when airborne. Gee, guys, it’s almost like they were made for each other because one of them is flour and the other one has pyrokinesis abilities but Idk.
Minions
Both Mystic Flour Cookie and Burning Spice Cookie have animal sidekicks and based on Cloud Haetae Cookie’s and Nutmeg Tiger Cookie’s dialogue about which of them is the strongest, it is notable that neither Burning Spice Cookie or Mystic Flour Cookie interject. Also of note, they both talk after the other in the story, much like Mystic Flour Cookie and Burning Spice Cookie.
Both of them, the sidekicks, are also pretty quick to show off their power and will not hesitate to kill a motherfudger if it serves their master. Cloud Haetae Cookie isn’t innocent, they tried to kill Peach Blossom with a steamed bun and indirectly lead that cookie in BY 12 to their death.
This is speculation on my part, but Cloud Haetae Cookie likely wants to come off strong and protect Mystic Flour Cookie because of the Pagoda being raided. They couldn’t do much and hid while they had to see their mother die and Mystic Flour helpless. Lowkey like Burning Spice Cookie in that regard, but that’s a discussion for another day. Nutmeg TigerCookie and them are really similar too. If you compare their dialogue, they both talk about strength a LOT, and their claws but that’s a given because they’re both animals. Both also talk about their lineages/ancestors, this can’t be a coincidence.
Nutmeg Tiger Cookie’s Dialogue (claws out lol):
Cloud Haetae Cookie’s Dialogue:
Their dialogue is pretty difficult to distinguish if you take out Cloud Haetae Cookie’s parts, and with the two of them even arguing about strength leads to some pretty interesting reflections about what their masters think…
Speech Patterns
Coinciding with their philosophy, it would make sense that they would also talk similarly to their Ancient counterparts. This is most apparent with Mystic Flour Cookie in Dark Resolutions Glorious Return, where she talks in a manner similar to Burning Spice Cookie.
Here she talks about kingdoms rising and falling…sounding pretty similar to a cycle someone might’ve witnessed. Then she goes onto mention History specifically, Burning Spice Cookie’s original Virtue and that it’s proof nothing lasts forever, almost like she’s witnessed it up close and personal, so to speak.
The following lines, while relating to the raid that happened in the Pagoda, could also be in line with all the wars that happened in the Spice Lands, and as we know now officially, the Spice Wars.
She has realized the hard truth of a kingdom only lasting but a fleeting moment, and that eventually things will be forgotten with time. Sounds awfully familiar to Burning Spice Cookie who recognizes that the Tides of Change eventually consume everything.
At the very end she talks about remembering the efforts of the ancients, which is again similar thematically to Burning Spice.
Why his behaviour differs from how he treats others:
First with Golden Cheese Cookie, he is bored with life, he's seen many things die, that's why he destroys other living things so they can just be ended quicker and not have to suffer grief like he did, he believes his destruction is freeing them from the endless cycle of ruin and rebirth, of course he is too prideful to just crumble himself, he wants to go out in glory, he wants an opponent who will finish him off for god, he neither hates nor loves Golden Cheese Cookie, he views her as strong enough to finish him off, that's why he was so excited when she awakened, he finally thought someone had the power to kill him.
With the other beasts he's just pretty aggressive or annoyed with them so why is it so different from how he talks to Mystic Flour Cookie?? Maybe they were friends or he still has a soft spot for her after corruption but we really don't know.
