I think more games with romance should include polyamory as an option. Not just because of inclusion purposes but also because a lot of these games are super long RPGs and I sure as hell don't have time to replay the game 5 times to romance everyone I wanted to.

Also even if I do play again I will feel bad not romancing my girl. Like come on I don't want her to be lonely.

I think it should definitely not be as simple as just doing the romance options for all the possibilities individually. The polyamory option needs to be like a puzzle where you do specific unique interactions so not only do they fall in love with you, but they also do with the others in the polycule (or at least tolerate their presence in the polycule). That’d actually be for some cool gameplay, like unlocking the Best Ending.

Hc: Harry and Justine are friends not just because of Thomas but also because of trauma bonding because of the red court they will call each other up when they need comfort or when Thomas tells them something that may have triggered a memory from it and they will just talk or sit together in silence just to know that they made it out alright-ish

More Dresden Files content- I made these for an instagram reel and I really like how they came out. Well, I like how most of them came out, ha, the soulgaze part was kicking my butt. Again, it’s a REALLY fun series to either read or listen to the audio book of.

there’s such a peculiar poignancy to saying “I miss [this fictional character]” or “I miss [this work of fiction/media]”

because you could always just pick up the book / rewatch the movie/TV show / re-consume the media again but it’s not quite the same. it’s not just “I miss discovering everything new about them” but also “I miss who I was when they filled my waking hours.” yes we joke about a character/book/movie/TV show living in our head rent-free but when they move out, you feel their absence. they haunt you, or perhaps, you haunt yourself with the memory of what it had been like, because there’s the bittersweet knowledge that you have also changed since you came into contact with this text or this character, that they have changed you with the revelation of some experience or identification or emotional truth, and you now carry them with you wherever you go but you will never be able to fall in love with them again for the first time

some loves are long-enduring but others fade to embers, and there is something particularly heartbreaking about wishing that you could love something again as much as you used to
