Damien saying "I know a guy" but it's just Marinette in various costumes

I have this idea that won't leave me alone, so I thought I'd share it so that others may be cursed with thinking about it too.

(This can be read as either sibling or dating Daminette)

Damien is all grown up and joined the Justice League as a permanent hero. Everyone knows he was Robin, so they think there won't be any surprises. Until there's a big mission and they need to infiltrate somewhere and plant cameras for evidence (or something). However, this place is a fortress (like the best anti-hero security money can buy) and the only way in is through the vents which are too small for humans to fit through.

The Justice League meeting turns into one big loud argument. Until Damien says, "I know a guy."

Obviously, he's very dodgy about his contact, but he says they can be trusted. Since, he's Robin, they let it slide.

The Justice League is all waiting at the contact spot when Marinette pulls up. They're confused, Damien is light-tipped, and she's in her multimouse ensemble looking all cute.

Marinette pulls off the mission then dips and Damien is stubborn even when Batman questions him. (Could be either good parent or bad parent Bruce Wayne).

Eventually, they let it drop. Until another big mission happens and they need a specific skill set and Damien says, "I know a guy." Cue Marinette with a different miraculous.

This keeps happening.

The Justice League assumes all the girls are different people and they're very confused like, "Robin, where do you keep finding these girls?"

Cue lots of half thought-out shenanigans

arranged marriage Daminette . . . but make it more realistic and angsty

you know how in arranged marriage tropes with Daminette it's basically love at first sight with each other?

we're serving none of that

the two just forced into a marriage bond while going through Shit™️

like maybe Damian was in love with someone else like Raven or Jon but it was unresolved and unrequited

or Marinette had just gotten out of a breakup or is too busy with Guardian duties to ever commit to a romantic relationship

first impressions could've gotten better because again,,, they were strangers, forced to meet with each other regularly or some sht or else the magical bond hurts them

they keep it a secret from others ofc

and maybe they know each other's identity. and hate each other more because of it

she doesnt like him bc he's Robin, and part of the justice league that ignored paris in the past or were trying to get into the city at the risk of being akumatized

and he knows she's the guardian but doesnt like that she's too 'incompetent' against hawkmoth, and hasn't figured his identity after so long

but each other's company is inescapable and with the power of forced proximity they understand each other more. it's slow, but there's progress

oh! and lets say one of them gets hurt and the other basically has a realization that the idea of losing them doesnt. feel. good.

strangers to reluctant spouses to sort-of friends to friends who somehow found comfort in each other to lovers

yesssss, give me slowburn daminette. Give me pain and angst as they have to work to even tolerate one another. How they would not be together, if circumstances were different. Because it makes it all the sweeter when they do fall for each other eventually. That they wouldn't end up trading their bond for the world. Have their love be earned instead of just at first sight.

So many different ways to play this:

Professional respect but personality clash

Or working relationship friction like mentioned above

Maybe shes mad at his team for overstepping. Maybe she fails to protect his family member during an akuma attack because she has to look big picture (family member is fine now but it *hurt* to see them die). Or maybe one or both of them is *right* and its annoying.

Or for super angst, one or both of them was already in a relationship that was going well. (Maybe Damien's mother is sabotaging behind the scenes and that adds extra complications)

Also, why are they getting married? Because thats another layer of shenanigans and can drive the angst or comedy as well.

Not forced marriage exactly, but one night stand to pregnancy to well I guess we should get married pipeline - maybe for legal or safety reasons (possibly with weird league stuff as a backdrop)

I like the idea of Bruce still being squeamish around bats. Like he’s chill with them staying in the bat cave just on the roof and away from him.

Until one day, Damian finds as baby bat that’s fallen and injured. And of course he demands that they nurse it back to health (and also because he feels the need to repent for the bat that he killed). And Bruce lets him, but he also doesn’t want the others to know that he gets the heebie geebies from them still. So whenever Damian shows him the pup he’s just like.

“Oh… that’s so great, son. No, I would not like to pet it… I’m going up to my office.”

Like he’s so glad that his son so caring but get it away from him yk?

I think he would fail, but his kids would have enough sympathy to just slitghly tease him and then get the pup away themselves. They don't want to upset him after all.

Bruce is right tbh. Always be cautious with sick or injured wild animals, because of the risk of rabies or other zoonotic diseases.

If Damian had come into Bruce's custody the moment he was born, you know he would have still be trained from the moment he could walk, not by Bruce though... No. Bruce wants his innocent little baby to be normal, to live a good, safe life away from crime fighting. But Dick 'I toddled on a tightrope' Grayson thinks that trapeze training and potty training start at the same time and he is not about to let Bruce neglect his little brother.

And if Bruce isn't looking, Dick totally uses his cape to make a papoose and takes Damian on gentle patrols with him... Damian loves it.

And Brucie, smiling, responds 'You gotta understand that in those days in Gotham a bribe was just an additional admin fee. A bribe paying millionaire in Metropolis will be doing something illegal but a bribe paying millionaire in Gotham is just doing something.'

omg??? idk if i agree that the organ the users of the broken peacock valued the most are what pass on to their children as a prevalent trait (the sentibeing concept still largely confuses me personally but wouldn't that mean that piece of the user passes onto every single sentibeing they create even if it isn't an offspring? i just don't know if we have evidence of that and astruc isn't addressing that aspect of the theory here) but it is fascinating to think about. when he says "emotion that is at the origin of the sentibeing" it probably is related to what the user values and their reason for creation, so that organ being a kind of "exchange" for using the (broken) peacock in the first place makes sense, and if the organ affected ends up being a vital organ it leads to death (so in emilie and colt's case, the heart and brain, whereas tomoe can survive without her eyes). interesting. (what was nathalie's vital organ that was failing?)
