Hey, Shin-chan, looks like we're paired up again, this time for "drift compatibility." Let's give it our best shot!
Midorima Shintarou, dubbed Shin-chan by yours truly, and Takao Kazunari (me!), are two members of the Shutoku Highschool basketball team. We earned the nickname "light and shadow of Shutoku" because of our bond on the court.

You see, despite how devastated I was when my team lost to his team years ago, I didn't give up on my love of this sport. Actually, it kind of made me work harder. Could you imagine my surprise when the ever so talented prodigy Midorima also stayed back to practice? I mean, really! This guy's accuracy and range is already top tier, and he can only get better by practicing.
So we started practicing together. That's how we got here.

I should also mention that Shin-chan hates leaving things up to fate, which means he reads up in horoscopes and does "everything in his power" to make sure he can win. This includes getting daily lucky items to maximize his luck and practicing for long hours after school. I mention this specifically because... we worked hard together to perfect a move that relies on chance and trust where he preemptively gets into shooting position without the ball in his hands. It's then up to me to make sure I pass directly to his palms so he makes the shot. Heh, that requires a lot of trust from Shin-chan.
(By the way, I did end up making that cool pass. Check out our match versus Rakuzan if you want to see it! Beware of spoilers though.)
It took a long time for us to build that trust. I don't really believe in this whole "fate and horoscope" stuff, but it must mean something for me and Shin-chan to end up together like this.

Edward Elric and Alphonse Elric vs Ling Yao and Greed vs Lieutenant Riza Hawkeye and Colonel Roy Mustang

Frankly, the dynamic between these two is terrifying. Hawkeye is willing to kill Mustang if he ever does go bad and were he to die she would likely kill herself. Something that Roy can’t allow to happen because “I can't lose you too“. The two are so in tune, Hawkeye manages to communicate without speaking that Mustang shouldn’t give in to the temptation to commit essentially necromancy to heal her when she gets severely injured and is near death. The two of them are a strong enough team together that the government decides to separate them and hold Hawkeye as a hostage against Roy and they still manage to communicate and organise a coup against said government while also under surveillance. They also make an absolutely terrifying team together, with Hawkeye being an excellent sniper, almost never missing her target and Mustang as the famous ‘Flame Alchemist’, able to create huge and incredible precise fire blasts. Additionally, the have each others back, with Hawkeye preventing Mustang from getting killed by a serial killer, as his alchemy is useless in the rain and Mustang backing her up against opponents that can withstand her guns."
roy and riza are TERRIFYING. the code they can use and decide from each other??? next level stuff. i dont even trust my bestie this much but riza making an entire code and roy using it to find out who pride was??? insane. absolute bonkers. they work in complete sync in a way that cant compare to ed and al, even greed and ling took some time to figure each other out.

Huh. Me, Tetsu, and.. Kagami? Against Midorima and Takao. Hah. Gotta say, it's pretty interesting. Looks like this poll is about how well we sync up? Well... basketball is basically our bread and butter. And if we're talking about basketball, there's no one who can play better together than me and Tetsu. Though... Kagami is good too. this is a VERY interesting trio! it consists of the two main characters of kuroko no basket, kuroko and kagami, as well as another major character, aomine! now kuroko and kagami are both on the same basketball team, seirin, but aomine is on a rivaling school, touou, so how do these 3 form an ultimate trio?

first of all, let's start with the kuroko and kagami details! in basketball, kuroko's main specialty is passing. he can pull off the trickiest passes in his opponent's blind spots, making it seem like the ball is coming from no where to his opponents! this is known as "Misdirection" and its a very powerful tool that has helped kuroko and his team win games!
kagami, on the other hand, is an incredibly powerful player. his main ability is his absurd jump height, but he's also just generally really good at basketball! hes fast, strong, agile, everything youd need for a player! now combine his superb skills with kuroko's insane passes, and you have a duo that's virtually unbeatable (save for essentially the series's antagonists, who are also basketball prodigies of their own)!!
in fact, kuroko being so unnoticeable makes people call him the "shadow." a shadow that supports his team! and since kagami is paired with kuroko, hes known as the "light" because he shines so brightly while playing on the court! the series loves to mention how the stronger the light, the stronger the shadow. so the better kagami gets, the better kuroko can get too!
its this partnership that allows them to take on the "Generation of Miracles" (the antagonists i mentioned earlier)!! oh and not to mention that theres a little arc where they both realize they cant keep relying on each other to win games, and that they need to get stronger individually and THEN work together to become an even better duo!! since the series is about them theres SO MUCH MORE, but ill leave it at this

now lets talk about kuroko and aomine! the "Generation of Miracles" i mentioned earlier originates before the start of the series, specifically, when they formed when they were in middle school. some of the members of the GoM actually include kuroko and aomine! thats right! they were partners back in their middle school days!
aomine was an incredibly talented player with speed, strength, agility, game sense, and everything else a pro player would need! kuroko on the other hand, is rather unimpressive physically, probably one of the worst players in the entire basketball team.... and back then, he never had his misdirection, so there wasn't much he could contribute or improve on...
actually, kuroko was seriously considering quitting the team because he knew he couldnt do much, but it was aomine who encouraged kuroko to keep working hard!! because in aomine's eyes, kuroko was someone who loved basketball more than anyone else, and hes practiced more than other players on the team!! it would be disheartening to see someone so into the sport give up!
and its at this time that akashi (another member of the GoM) discovers kuroko and aids him on his quest to develop his misdirection!! with this tool, kuroko is able to join with the other members of the Generation of Miracles on the court!!
i want to note that in one of the games, murasakibara (another member of the GoM) comments how everyone seems to be scoring way more with kuroko around, ESPECIALLY aomine and kuroko!!! aomine loves to mention that he and kuroko play basketball so well together, and kuroko agrees!! in fact... the term light and shadow originates here! aomine was the original "light" to kuroko's "shadow!!"
ever since kuroko and aomine met, theyve become extremely close friends, and theres no one whos caught more of kuroko's passes than aomine in middle school!! they supported each other and were incredibly powerful players when working together!! again, theres more to share but ill cut it off

now for the most interesting part, aomine and kagami! they only met during matches against seirin and touou. however, aomine is fully aware of what kagami is, that being kuroko's "new light." in their first meeting, aomine is unimpressed by kagami, noting that "his light is too dim" to be playing with kuroko. but since aomine is a member of the generation of miracles, kagami has made it his mission to defeat each and every one of them! so this is where their rivalry begins!!
their rivalry is much stronger compared to other members of the GoM because their play styles are very similar! both speedy, powerful players with superb basketball skills! the only difference being that aomine is faster while kagami jumps higher! oh and it should be noted that part of aomine's character is that hes detached from basketball because hes TOO good at the game! he wants someone who can challenge him...
so to sum up the above in short, aomine looked down on kagami, but after facing him multiple times, he grew to respect kagami. seeing him as a rival more than kuroko. kagami feels the same way, as they understand that their styles are very similar, so they have A LOT in common (they even wear the same brand and have the same shoe size!!) so despite the two being enemies at first, the rivalry and bond they grew by playing against each other is something special
so yeah! thats my evidence on how all 3 of them could make a very synced up trio!! i know this is pretty long but i hope i got the point across!! thank u for reading!!!

And THEN bc Harrow is so unwilling to absorb Gideon’s soul she gives herself a fucking LOBOTOMY to preserve Gideon’s consciousness!! Lots of themes between them about control and protecting the other and tldr, they already basically have been drift compatible (kinda) as two souls inside Harrow’s body"
Propaganda for Palamedes and Camilla:
"Pal and Cam are a necromancer-cavalier pair that takes ‘codependent’ to the next level, but in the healthiest way possible? They love each other SO much. They support each other 100%. Each of them trusts the other one with their life and death and more. When Pal dies Cam scrapes together his shattered skull so she can bring him back from beyond death… when she manages this they share Cam’s body, taking turns piloting it and grieving bc the only way they can talk now is by writing notes and switching possession of the body. (They describe this with, “Life is too short and love is too long.”) Eventually they are able to do a perfect merger and both Pal and Cam’s souls merge into an entirely new person that’s the perfect blend of both of them—Paul. "The series starts with them being at odds with each other, but with Vice being Ikki's inner demon they have to work together, and the series is about them doing just that and learning from each other. Most of the "checkpoints" in their relationship are marked by them getting new armor that only works if they're in synch with each other. One of them has them working together in one suit , while their final form is based on magnets and all of their stronger attacks are them using opposite magnetic poles to propel/attract the other"
Propaganda for Ryuuga and Sento:
"the whole show is built on the ideal that through love and leave people can thrive in a world full of darkness where hope is removed. Banjou and sento have to go through countless trials and tribulations but at the end of the day they form a long last connection and trust each other and end up doing everything they can to save the other. Their bond ended up saying the world and created a new world (version of earth) without the darkness. They both weren’t supposed to exist in this new world but they did and found each other. They aren’t supposed to be compatibile as the show uses motifs of machinery and life forms to create different toku suit transformations ie rabbit and tank. However at they end they are able to combine their motifs (rabbit and dragon bottles) to create rabbitdragon form which consists of both of them and their minds together."
Propaganda for Emu and Parad:
"their connection to each other was a large part of ex-aid's story, as Parad was created from Emu. They share a mental and physical connection with one another, so the Drifting Mind Meld would be as easy as breathing to them."
Propaganda for Shoutarou and Phillip:
"It's literally the gimmick for their series! :D They can transform into Double *only* by working together! They are a two-in-one Rider! >:3 Shoutaro controls the left side of the body, while Philip controls the right side, but they're so in synch that they both control the body as one most of the time, without disconnect. The driver was made for Philip to work with someone, and Shoutaro ended up using it for an emergency, but they were compatible with each other from the start. Also one of the arcs of the show is Philip's mother trying to have him form Double with another person that she thinks would create a more powerful Double, but Philip refuses and says that Shoutaro's "weaknesses" (aka being kind and wanting to help everyone) is part of what makes Double so strong (this arc leads them to unlock their super form too, which is the two of them actually fused together, instead of using one body and having the other share his consciousness with it)"
Cure Melody and Cure Rhythm vs Cure Ma'Cherie and Cure Amour vs Cure Black and Cure White
Propaganda for Cure Melody and Cure Rhythm:
"Like several other Pretty Cure duos, they cannot transform without each other and their powers require them to be in harmony with each other. This being a music-themed season, there is an extra emphasis on “harmony” here!"

"There’s no bond like that of a young girl and a robot! They managed to beat the odds by transforming into Pretty Cure together even though there was only one transformation item left. In addition, they are a direct shout-out to the original Pretty Cure duo of Cure Black and Cure White."
