He was honestly surprised it took someone this long to call him out on it. Although his memories were a bit fragmented from the Fusion, he remembered both sides of that event perfectly well. Both sides of it, although the motivations were…. hazy at best.
Still, that wasn’t going to stop him from answering the question. Leaning back in the chair he was sat in, he sighed slightly at the phone.
Well. Yes. Also no. It’s complicated, and has alot to do with the Demon world. I’m technically both this sides, the other side’s, and neither of them at the same time.
Demon Fusion was something very complicated, that humans could only get part of a grasp on. Even if they understood the concept completely, they would never know the feeling, and what the result ended up being. Even a Demon couldn’t express it well to one that had never done so before.
To the army thing though I can really only say yes since both me’s had one. And I can’t say either really left things without harm.
Simon felt mildly conflicted on how to respond -- he couldn’t blame the guy for what his alternate version had done (God knows that he had done just as bad -- maybe even worse), and so he eventually came to the conclusion that there was no reason to base his opinion of the person Kaz was now off of the experiences that he had had with the alternate. His reply implied as such.
Is that so? We’re on the same side of things, then. Can’t say I blame you for whatever your otherside version did -- from what I keep on remembering, mine did...really crappy things, too.
The thoughts and images in Simon’s head that had been popping up from time to time ever since that whole fuss ended were...less than pleasant. It left him aghast to realize that someone who looked just like him could do the screwed up things that he had -- and he wondered if Kaz’s alternate had left him feeling similarly. He supposed the idea that popped into his head then wasn’t a bad one.
Hey, do you want to meet up? I hear that beach is pretty crowded, but it’s a good landmark if you wanna talk about everything that went on. I imagine we’ve both got a lot on our plate to think about, now that that’s all said and done.
