me: charlie, i want you to take point. you're the most important for the early phase so you gotta make sure to nail this. remember we only have a limited time to pull this off, so the sooner the better
safecracker: youre not really gonna kill yourself if we fuck this up right
me: [putting on my badass sunglasses as smooth bossa nova music plays] i'm definitely going to kill myself if we get this wrong
like I mean this very seriously as writing advice. the character should experience events and make decisions that make them different at the end of the story. they should be changed. they do not have to be improved.
they can get worse. they can make decisions of an increasingly terrible nature. they can stop taking risks on kindness. they can discover how much they can get away with. they can find religion, or abandon it, with negative effects on their moral creed. the character has to develop. the character does not have to grow.

And the reason why he looks so insane in a lot of my videos is because I'll open my, blinds for like, natural lighting, and I have a birdfeeder, so he like, gets locked in.

sometimes I regret having "USA" in my filtered terms because I just clicked on a filtered post out of curiosity and it was about rehoming a polyamorous peacock. in my endeavour to spare myself from a constant barrage of US politics I am missing out on Peacock Polycule Drama. a sad day indeed
at this point Iām tired of putting āprefer not to answerā on my job applications when they ask me my gender. Remove the question. I will never answer. Happy belated one year anniversary of my dumbass shitpost that somehow went absolutely insane with over 100k notes. We bees are doing quite well and did find employment in teaching small human children to swim. The children did not mind the buzzing as it kept the other Hive Insects from bothering us during lessons. One of the children is convinced we ate a man, which the collective cannot confirm nor deny at this time.

Your dialogue is stiff because everyone is being too honest
Great dialogue can come from radical emotional honesty. But in most real conversations, people
dodge questions
answer indirectly
lie (badly)
change the subject
crack jokes to avoid serious answers
lie (convincingly)
say half of what they mean
tell the truth but get so anxious/angry/defensive others now think they're lying
If your dialogue feels unnatural, it might be because everyone is saying exactly what they think, or articulating their thoughts too well. Try letting characters hide things instead.
