“If the subject reads remember to maybe it is an important matter that you should take a few extra seconds to bother to read. I mean, why would people email you reminder emails with important information if they could just called? That makes no sense.”
“if it says remember, i’ve probably already done it. i’m great at getting stuff done.” one day she was going to get herself into bother but she was quite happy with where she was and where she was going. “some people can’t be as organised as the top one percent, i’m sure. all important information creates discussion, and i happen to hear them. i wouldn’t worry about how i’m staying on top of things, focus on yourself.”
“I like the words coming out of your mouth. We should go out for some tequila shots sometime,” Cristina mused, seeing a lot of herself in the other doctor. “I literally look at my inbox, curse at it and close it. I should get an assistant who solely works with deleting my e-mails.”
“i work hard so i can play hard.” sora wasn’t the most approachable people but she knew when to take the stick out of her ass and have a good time. “that’s a really good idea. great minds think alike.” the fact that her ego was big didn’t worry sora; she had been brought up with winning in mind and she would never want anything less.
“Hey, you never know. Something might fall in there that you think isn’t worth anything, and it might change your life.” Nathan said with a small smile, finger gesturing towards her phone as he spoke. “It might be ‘remember to attend my super duper once in a lifetime surgery’ that you got rid of just because of the way it started.” He was teasing of course, but he couldn’t help himself.
sora’s eyes widened as she looked back up from the scene. “do they email you if you’ve won the lottery?” raising her eyebrows, she shook her head. “pretty sure that’s not how it works.” did her parents know her email address? she really hoped that wasn’t the case. “thanks for the tip, i’ll be sure to remember that one in my next life.”
Alyiah sighed. “We’ve been over this. The interns need help if you don’t help them they will walk around like lost ducklings. You don’t always need to help them.” Alyiah shrugged. “My day has been good. Drama? Nope. At least I haven’t heard much.”
“i’ll be happier when i’m higher up, maybe then i’ll give them an extra bit of attention.” sora knew she wasn’t the mentor type so wanted to steer away from it. “i’ll help them with actual words, not in an email, they can make notes if they wish.” she shrugged before sighing. “damn, not that i care for gossip...” she was quick to try and save herself from that. “people air their laundry out at their workplace, i really don’t understand that.”
“Exactly. Or we’d be called into a meeting where they give us any information necessary or whatever,” Cristina added. “We’re surgeons, how are we supposed to have time to sit down and read e-mails? Please.”
“thank goodness you work here. everyone’s trying so hard to become servants that they seem to lose all self respect. do people really think that all 500 unread emails need to be read.” sora scoffed. she really was thankful for cristina’s presence. “that’s what admins are for...”
“I mean – you should read them. What if you miss something important?” Nancy was not one to shirk the rules, not all the time anyway. “I really wouldn’t suggest deleting emails before reading them, it’s a little bit rude to just delete something someone sends you.”
“i’m pretty sure that if it were important, i’d either have someone calling me or hear some important information from others. it#s not like people here are that secretive...” sora was the opposite. she was fine being cold but also being the partier, just didn’t want to broadcast everything to everyone as she was taught to be shameful. “i don’t know. most of them aren’t important.”
“I’m not a doctor but my wife is and I couldn’t agree more.” Henry chuckled. “Better make sure you don’t miss anything important though, that could be a mistake you can’t take back.”
“usually you can tell whether something’s important or whether someone in hr has told management to send out an email to cover something up.” sora wouldn’t put it past anyone in her workplace to take drastic measures; she would pounce on the opportunity if she found herself compromised. “i’m sure if anything really urgent comes in, someone will either page me, or simply pull me in for a telling off. i really don’t need it in an email, it’s too distracting.”
“I never read e-mails,” Cristina stated. She understood where the other doctor was coming from. “I always get updated one way or another, anyway. Unless I know something important is coming, it’s usually a waste of my time.”
a sigh of relief escaped the woman. “thank god it’s not just me. if something bad happens, i’m pretty sure someone would page me instead of sending me an email... some people just don’t seem to get that.” sora nodded in agreement with cristina’s words. “why are the staff here so preppy? like, nothing’s going to happen if you never respond to some interns email once. it’s ridiculous. they should look it up for themselves before emailing me.”
Alyiah looked at her. “Yeah, I mean not the entire message but if I think it’s important yes. You should probably at least first line of it.” She shrugged. “But I get a bunch of junk as well.”
“please tell me, did i, at some point, approachable? i have interns emailing me for advice and i thought i made it clear that i’m not here to help them.” she she chuckled. “guess i’ll have to try harder with that one. how’s your day been so far? any dramas that are worth knowing or the staff gossip that i need to block out once carol in hr tries to talk to me about it?”
“i don’t think anyone really reads their email anymore.” amelia shrugged, offering her opinion since it was technically asked of her. “i think most of the time you can be a pretty good judge of which emails are and are not important. i guess that’s why some people have a work email and then a personal one so you don’t get mindless junk mixed in with your business.”
“that’s my outlook on it. however, people are even trying to lead me on with RESPONSE REQUIRED in the subject line but it just means they’re bothering me about something.” sora sighed. “i do have a personal one but i feel as my email address has been leaked and i’m getting useless junk that i just don’t need, from both strangers and my co workers.” pulling her eyes away from her mobile device, sora sighed once more. “they really need to figure out what is important and what they can actually do themselves. interns should know by now that they’re going to get no response from me if they have a ‘quick’ question.”
“does anyone actually read all these emails we get through?” sora raised her eyebrows as she scrolled through her cell phone. “i take one look at the boring subject line such as sign up for or remember to and it goes straight in my trash. or i actually click into it so people think i’ve read it and then trash it. if it was important, i think people would call me. i get such junk in my mailbox, it’s unbelievable.”
“Alright, who hate my pizza?” He asked, looking up from the fridge from the attendings lounge. “That sauce was shipped from Italy, so whoever took it, owes me,” He sulked back into the seat. “Do I try to eat what they call a cheeseburger in the cafeteria or eat a salad?”
“if you’re shipping from italy, deluca, you can never complain to me about your finances ever again.” sora looked up from her nails and sighed. “i didn’t take your pizza, it’s unfortunate someone beat me to it.” the resident laughed.

sora fell pregnant in her teens. as her parents didn’t want her to bring shame on their family, they raised her daughter as their own (telling everyone she was adopted). some had their suspicions as the child resembled mr. park.
after this, her parents put on the pressure that she had to prove herself to them and being successful in the medical field was the best thing to do that.
she’s quite harsh but can be humorous at times. she’s disciplined but knows when to relax and has a good time.
sora wants to tell eva the truth but she’s afraid that it will ruin her family and cause none of them to speak to her ever again.
she was also given a lot of money by her parents so isn’t in any debt and her finances look healthy compared to othe residents. she sees it as silence money so she best take it and keep quiet.
she has the ambition to become a plastic surgeon.
sora does hide things and manipulate situations to get ahead and it doesn’t bother her one bit.
