Daeron was smarter and got hair dye and proper peasant clothes so when he ran away with Egg he did not get discovered, man did not want to participate in the tourney. Egg still runs away but this time with his hair dyed with Dunk.
Maekar can not find his babies and is stressed and pulls Aerion out of the tourney to help find the rest of his kids.
Valarr offers to search with Aerion only for Aerion to get shot with a crossbow during there search by a blackfire sympathizer.
It was not a planned attack but one made because they were there was an opportunity.
The shooter gets killed so they only know he was a blackfire loyalist
When they return Maekar is horrified but he is afraid that something may have happened to his other kids since they can not be found.
Maekar is now desperately searching for his other sons because in his POV this is a calculated planned blackfire attack.
Daeron does get attacked and gets several hits to the head but it was a robbery, he makes it back to Ashford just in time to reach Maekar and say sorry that he lost Egg and then collapsed.
For Maekar the stress is simply to much at once and get a a stress induced heart attack.
Egg is causally living his best life with Dunk who was not able to meet the princes so no one was able to vouch for him leaves Ashford to go on to be a Hedge Knight with his squire Egg.
Maekar wakes up only to be told Prince Daeron has slipped into a coma, Prince Aerion condition is still unstable as he lost a lot of blood he needs to be watched closely, and Prince Ageon is still missing.
Baelor too is not having a good day his brother is not okay and his nephews are in a precarious situation.
Later Prince Aerion succumbs to his wounds and passes away Maekar receive another heart attack that he doesn't survive. Prince Daeron wakes up with amnesia because of a brain injury.
Baelor is watching Daeron like a Hawk with his son Valarr because Aerion got struck with the arrow, pushing him out the way.
Baelor is determined to makes sure Daeron survives his wounds and makes a full recovery while still searching for Aegon.
Thinking about Stannis being born a generation earlier and being the light of Grandpa Maekar's life. Gets fostered at Summerhall. Every time he unhorses Robert in the lists Grandpa Lyonel loses a year off his lifespan but then remembers to celebrate because Stannis is his grandson too.
i think my love for the âdied and came back wrongâ trope in media is that it feels like a very accurate representation of severe trauma where you are alive now, but you died once and you came back and you came back so different that you arenât anymore. youâre something else.
Part 1 is here. I got away with myself and a side plot accidently took over. Warning: Character death.
Dunk may have spoken too soon when he sent Baelor that last voice message.
Daisy caught a mild case of the sickness but iscolated and came back fine in 5 days.
Then Dunk caught it.
It came down hard and fast, he has the cough, fever, shivers and headache all associaed with the sickness. However the public hospitals where passed capacity and he was more likely to get worse at the hospital than at home.
Dunk was iscolated in his room. With Daisy, covered from head to toe in PPE (personal protective equiptment) trying to get him to drink fluids and helping him have cloth bed baths to attempt to cool him down.
Now Ella had never been away from her daddy for this long.
Although sheâs been told not to, when she sees that Daisy had locked the door (temp lock to stop Ella from getting in) She took the oppertunity to get into the bedroom to see her daddy.
Duck, barley lucid sees Ella enter and try to come up to him. Dunk tells her through a pained voice to stay back. Ella doesnt listen and keeps coming forward.
Dunk, stressed at the idea of his daughter getting sick; especially since shes so young, ends up roaring at her to leave.
Ella freeze and begins to cry, but shes so used to seeing Dunk as her primary source of comfort that she runs up to him for a hug, apologising to him for making him mad.
Luckily Red comes through and scoops up Ella before she can make contact with Dunk. She screams as sheâs taken out the room, begging for Dunk and saying she sorry for being a bad girl.
After he is left in silence Dunk ends up having a break down, his body already hurts beyond belief and he's having these terrible coughing fits, but he feels horrified by the idea that that may be his last interaction with his daughter.
Dunk pulls through.
However Beony does not. Due to how fast the sickness spread, the Reach closed down all public transport rather quickly so Beony had to stay in her studio alone. She still needed groceries though and on a simple trip to buy some basic supplies she ended up getting sick.
She was able to drag herself to a hospital when things started to take a turn but there wernt enough staff and the place was heaving. She ended up having a bloody coughing fit before siezing up. dying on a bed in a cramped hallway of the hospital.
Dunk and the girls find this out nearly 4 days later. Because although they were her emergency contacts the hospital was so inundated that it took them a long time to reach out to the families of the deaseced.
By then Dunk has gotten over his sickness he feels so horrendusly guilty about shouting at Ella that he spends all his time surrounding her with his scent and affection.
Raymun is staying at their house on the sofa because his arsehole cousin Steffon forced him out of the house theyâd been sharing because he didnât want to âcatch anythingâ from having more than one person in the house. Only to open the door allowing a load of his frat bros to ride the sickness at his place.
Raymun is just lucky he met Dunk at somepoint before the sickness and became fast friends with him. He was allowed to stay with them, at which time Red finally met him and boom! a lockdown romance.
With Beony dead it crushes the family of 4 (5 with Raymun). Especially since she died alone without any of them around. Daisy feels especially guilty because when Beony phoned her when she was getting really bad Daisy encouraged her to go to the hospital for treatment.
In other news Baelor has his first few wins in quite a while.
Itâs decided that once they find out if Valarr and Matarys are going to survive Baelor is going to try to reach out to Dunk. Itâs a delaying the inevitable futhur but knowing Dunk and his daughter are safe Baelor focuses on the immediate issues.
The family get the news that Myriah and Matarys are ready to come home. Both significally weakended but they believe that keeping them in the hospital longer wont help them any futhur. Valarr has finally woken up but is kept on oxygen as his lungs have been damaged from the sickness.
Vaellaâs fever has broken and is ready to come home after a few more days of monitoring. Unfortunately there was some bad brain swellin so they wonât know how bad the fever effected her until sheâs developed futhur.
Baelor, Kiera and Maekar go to the hospital to pick up the family. Maekar will stay in the car with their mother while the other two go into get Matarys and Vella. Kiera also being able to pop in and see Valarr. Showing him Vaella through the glass of his room.
A man busts through the entrance of the hospital and seems to be being persued by the hospital security. Maekars military training seems to come in and he sidelines the man to stop his escape.
In doing so the mans phone drops and is playing a video of the assailent going into someones room to video them. Then they see the person fitting and as their heart monitor blears out they are forced from the room while staff try to save the patient.
The camera then zooms in from a distance showing a blurry sceme of the patient being worked on; untill ultimately they die.
That person is Maekars son; Daeron.
This having all just happened, with Daeron being slated to come home in a few more days after some extra monitering as his cough came back a bit heavier a day ago, nothing too bad but Maekar insisted he stay in to be checked.
Baelor comes out with Kiera, Vaella and Matarys to find his little brother wailing into their mothers arms as they both are hugging kneeling on the floor . Security seems to be dragging the yound man near them away in cuffs, waiting for the police as the person yells somthing about police brutality and sueing the hospital.
As they walk nearer Baelor goes to speak but Kiera lets out a sudden gasp. frozen on the screen of a broken phone is the zoomed in dead face of his nephew Daeron.
Baelor tells Kiera to get Vaella situated in the car as he walks up to the security staff and the perpurtatior.
Baelor asks if their are any other copies and/or if heâs uploaded them yet. The person reluctantly admits that the thing they see on his phone was a screen recording and heâd actually been recording live on Roar (Lanister version of twitch/kick).
Baelor nods, finds out the boys name, Walder Frey, who says hes just a prankster and was just seeing how far he could get into the private hospital before he was caught.
Baelor hears his mum shout Maekars name as he rushes over to beat the shit out of this âpranksterâ
Baelor is barely able to hold him back and tells him to go into the hospital instead to see his son one last time before they cremeate him. (they tend to cremate the bodies fast because of the sicknesss)
Baelor and family go sit inside the car and wait. Baelor calls Brynden to pick everyone up so he can stay here and wait for Maekar. Myriah tries to fight to stay but it obvious that recovery and the sudden news of her first granchilds death has exhausted her.
The others leave easily. Kiera wants to get Vaella home and settled and Matarys wants to go see Aemon and their child.
After sitting alone in the car for another hour Maekar comes out stone faced. As he gets in the car to drive back neither of them speak a word until Maelar realises heâs not heading straight for the house but taking a side road that leads them into woods.
Which Baelor pulls of into.
Maekar canât get himself to speak. He knows why Baelor has done this. Brynden or Myriah will tell the children so Maekar has this time to process as much as possible before he has to push aside his grief for his childrens.
Maekar just pulls out a chip from his pocket and tells Baelor that Daerons 1 year sobriety chip had been sent to the house and heâd wanted to give it to the boy. He said he had a whole speach prepared to tell Daeron how proud he was of him. Somthing his therapist has told him to do. Maekar tells Baelor that the doctors suspected that although heâd been weaned off alcohol before having a year fully sober. His body had already been damaged by his drinking which could have made him mor suseptable to having that sudden health relapse.
Maekar is furious because in his mind what was the point of Daeron getting sober, trying, getting better, just to die before he could even starts properly living his life. Maekar had planned a camping trip for all his children once lockdown had finished, just like they used to have with Dyanna, but now how could he. He begs Baelor to say anything to distract him.
Baelor just blurts out how he accidently knocked up a teenaged (technically legal but morally dodgey) 5 years ago when he disappeared for those few months. He jsut found out a week ago when he charged up the burner phone he used to a dozen messages and voicemails. He admits he doesnât know what to do because he wants to meet her and have a relationship with Dunk but everything happened all at once and now he doesnât know what to say to Dunk.
Maekar just looks at him stunned, before telling him thats the stupidest and most insane lie Baelor has ever made up.
Baelor pulls out the phone (He keeps it with him at all times now ) and plays the recording for him. He even found a photo sent on Ellaâs first birthday of her, birthday hat tied on her head, hand full of bright pink cake smilling with only a few teeth. She has drool and cake around her mouth.
Maekar just bursts and starts to rant at Baelor for being so fucking irresponsible and a pervert. Baelor tries to defend himself by stating he didnât know he was 17, to which Maekar says that âthey all say thatâ.
Baelor snaps back and suddenly theyâre having a full on argument in the car. Voices cutting through the quite of the forest. A moment later they both stop and stare at eachother before breaking out laughing at the obsuidity of it all.
Baelor watches as his little brothers laughter turns into sobs. He starts saying how young Daeron was and how he was his first boy, the one who looked most like Dyanna. His haunted, drunken, sweet boy who decided to do better. Who tried to make him proud and Maekar canât remember the last time he told Daeron that he loves him.
By the time they get back Maekars red eyes are the only indication heâd been crying. As soon as the car door opens Maekars two youngest Aegon and Rhae are running into his arms, wailing and demanding their father tell them itâs not true about Daeron. Baelor and the rest of the family leave Maekar alone with his children while he tells them what happened.
Suddenly Aerion, who hadnât been at the entrance, comes storming down the steps raving that heâs going to skin and burn whoever thinks they could cross a dragon. Baelor is a bit too tierd for this and tells Aerion that his brother has just died and canât he stop being like this for like one day.
Aerion just turns around and shoves his screen in Baelors face. Horrified Baelor realises itâs the recording of Daerons death, being shared around by thousands. Brynden comes to speak to Baelor but sees Aerion waving the video around and threatening bodily harm, realising that they all now know its been spread. Even the Targaryens, with all their power would never be able to wipe this video off the internet.
They are already getting phone calls asking for statments on the event but Baelor is too tired and says that Brynden should talk to Maekar and work out how best to deal with this in the morning.
He knows Maekar will be pissed they didnât tell him immediately but he needs the night with the kids.
Baelor goes to his office, gets himself a glass of pear brandy and makes the decision to send Dunk a voice message.
After a moment of hesitation Baelor hits record.
He talks about how he never ment to ignore Dunk and that the card was not a bribe. He just wanted to help Dunk pay for his rent as heâd told him so much about he and his friends circumstances. He explains the phone issue and the mess everything has been.
He says heâd love to know more about Ella; not just Ella but Dunk himself.
Baelor thanks Dunk for his kindness and hopes Dunk will forgive him enough to allow him to someday meet his daughter. He signs off by saying heâd do anything to prove to Dunk that he is serious and he will be keeping his phone on him, fully charged, whenever Dunk wants to call day or night.
About 20 minutes later theres a flurry of pings. Baelor looks and sees that Dunk has said heâs suprised to hear from him. That for now heâd like to just talk through voice messages and texts if that was ok. Futher up are about 60 photographs that Dunk has sent him. Baelor quickly downloads them but before he looks through them he sees Dunk has just sent him a voice message.
Dunk seems more nervous now that Baelor is now replying. Dunk speaks a bit about his lockdown experience and what happened the weeks after Dunks last message. He tells Baelor his friend Raymun had just told him about the Daeron leak and he hopes heâs ok. He even offers a friend of Reds up as a lawyer if Baelor needs any help. The Targaryens has an army of lawerys they keep on retainer but the sentement is charming and genuine, reminding Baelor of how easiy it was to start to fall for Dunk in the few years theyâd spent together.
At the end of the voice message Baelor hears Dunk shuffle around before whispering away from the phone.
Suddenly he hears the voice of a young girl; she has a slight lisp and the volume of her voice fluctuates like the the mountians in the Vale.
âHello! My Names Ella, Daddy says you wanna know stuff me! I like blackberry tarts but they tend to fall on my dress so Auntie Daisy got me a fancy knapkin to ware when I eat âem like a propper lady. My favorite colour is blue like Daddys eyes but I like my eyes too!!! I got a cat that daddy says isnt my cat but he comes round to see me and lets me pet himâ then sayin in a way to loud whisper voice â l call âim Vermithor cause hes bronze like the dragon, Beony says hes just brown but hes not! heâs extra special. Iâf Daddy says you can come over Iâll let you meet him. But you have to be careful! Heâs very grumpy some times. Iâm his favouite.â There was the sound of smugness in her tone at the end. It reminded him so much of Maekar when his brother was much much younger.
Ella went on for a few minuites longer, flittering from topic to topic either such enthusiasm that she barely took a breath.
Before long it was over.
The vocie message stopped with a loud and cheerful bye-bye.
Baelor sat there in silence not realising he;d been crying until he noticed the dampness of his shirt. His hand holding the phone shaked as he placed it down. Taking another sip of Brandy Baelor picked the phine back up and started to make his way through all the pictured Dunk sent him of Ella.
Iâm not rewatching Obsession because the movie scared the shit out of me, but something thatâs different between the trailers and movie is the wording and intention of Bearâs wish.
Trailers have him almost calmly saying âI wish Nikki freeman loved me more than anyone in the worldâ
But in the movie, heâs much more charged in his tone; its almost spat out in anger instead of said. He uses the word âfuckingâ as well in his wishâ I wish Nikki Freeman loved me more than anyone in the fucking worldâ
Thereâs violence in his wish. And then heâs shocked when that violence manifests.
Obsession asks the question of âman or bear but what if Bear is actually a man and youâre stuck in your own mind as youâre coerced into loving the man and getting raped by him because heâs just a niceeeeeee guy pookie whoâs too scared to confess to you and get friendzoned. Wouldnât that be fucked up?â
Ok just to give some time to things + change a couple of things round for the next chapter
1. Rhaegal is had the twins Aelor and Aelora are about 3 months older than Ella.
2. The Matarys-Aemon thing happened about a year and a bit after that so their child is around 3.
3. Idk but my love for forcing the souls of past Targaryens into these children so they hopefully have a better life continues
4. That is to say Ella is reincarnated Rhaella and Aemons daughter Myriah (they got grandma on side to support them when shit hit the fan so they named the baby after her) is Helena.
5. Iâm retroactively ignoring killing Myriah. I think having her, although left permanently weakened, keeps Baelor one step further away from that ledge.
6. One of Baelors sons is either going to die or be left disabled from the spring sickness I canât decide which. If anyone has a suggestion that would be great.
7. Daeron was just about to get his one Year sober chip before he ended up in hospital :)
Also donât worry Dunk is also having a horrible time during the sickness it just hasnât happened yet :))))
So Omega Daeron has been kidnapped by some Blackfyre sympathisers. He's been gone for almost a year and with no ransom or 'ha ha we have your son' letter to Maekar; the realm is like rip in peace Daeron the drunk.
Maekar, Rheagal, Egg, and a few Dayne relatives believe he's alive. Baelor is tries to be supportive but Maekar can tell he doesn't believe it so he decided Baelor is mocking him and it creates a rift in their relationship.
Omegas aren't the most common of genders. Female Omegas are seen as an a double blessing of the Maiden and Mother; while male omegas are seen as the children of the Smith and the Mother. (Female alphas are Mother + Warrior and Male Alphas = Father + Warrior )
Egg decides on his own that the smartest thing to do is shave his head and run off to find Daeron because he thinks everyone else is doing a shit job at it. (also Aerion had gotten 10x more unbearable/unhinged)
Que Maekar's breakdown part 2.
O!Dunk is on the road, traveling around. Arlan is gone but Dunk has made moneys through small guard jobs and small tourneys as well as getting new clothes or his horses rested for the odd job here and there.
He find this obviously lost, haggard looking small child who is mainly bald but the patchy hair; the nicks on his scalp show he did it himself. Egg is just there, curled up, looking like a wet cat in the rain sobbing because he's tired, hungry, alone and scared. He feels like a failure for not finding Daeron.
Dunk just looks at this lad, goes into mother hen mode. Although the boy is hissy and untrusting Dunk, he doesn't mind. He expects it. Honestly would be weird if he didn't.
Only after a few weeks together Egg reveals who he really is and what he's trying to do. Dunk is furious and a bit betrayed but thinks about how desperate the poor lad must be. Egg promises Dunk lands and gold if he would help him find his brother (Dead or Alive).
Dunk just shakes his head and says he'll just do it. No rewards or bribes needed. Daeron is going through what would be Dunks nightmare if people realised he was an omega.
Meanwhile, going through his own nightmare is Maekar.
The family won't even let him put out a bounty or do a proper search for his son as knowing that the royal family had 2 members kidnapped would look real weak and it could help the Blackfyres out.
They say they will send scouts and men under Brynden to search but Maekar thinks thats bull shit and they're doing this because they hate him and consequently think his families disposable. He even straight up says so at a family dinner and everyone is shocked.
Myriah and King Daeron never thought about how they treated Maekar as distant or less than. In their heads he was the most targaryen looking one of the lot without the issues Rhaegal had. He seemed so independant and constantly in Baelors shadow that they just let it be. Not realising he's become independent because he couldn't depend on them.
It's a very emotional time for the family and now they're trying to awkwardly deal with the fact that their son sees himself more as a weapon for the family than their actual child.
Back to Dunk and Egg
They've been traveling for some time when a really bad rain storm happens. They decide to take shelter in a bastle house that looks worse for ware but will keep them sheltered from the storm. Before they get they're tough they're attacked by what they believe to be some bandits. Dunk is told by them they'll give him some silver and some time with the 'bitch' if he keeps his mouth shut.
Dunk keeps his mouth shut. Because you don't need to speak to kill a man.
Or several men.
They make it inside the dark, damp room. the fire inside is low, it's just a bit warmer than outside. There is a lot of traveling gear and what seem to be letters, which Egg realises have the Blackfyre seal on them.
While Egg's distracted the letters Dunk is immediately drawn to the smell of a distressed omega trying to dampen his scent. It reminds him of the wives of drunkards or abusers back in Fleabottom.
In the corner is a shaking figure, long matted hair that you don't know if its blond or brown because of the dirt. There are the soft sounds of desperate muttering and the sound of soft, broken wheezing by whatever the figure is hiding.
Egg turns his head as Dunk starts to slowly approach the figure. With as much self control as a kitten, Egg launches himself towards the figure crying out for his brother.
Daeron flinches badly and starts panicking thinking his brother has been stolen or he's in a dream.
He turns and looks at Dunk and is like, fuck another one.
Realising Daeron is panicking Dunk rubs off the balm he has on his glands to disguise his scent. That seems to relax Daeron enough to listen to him. Although Egg shoots him a look of absolute betrayal because Dunk never told him he was an omega!
Daeron asks how many they killed and Dunk tells him. Daeron freaks out and says there's more of them + some lords own men who will be coming soon for their 'due'. It doesn't take a maester to know what he means.
Egg start scrambling about, getting rations and letters from the room so they can skedaddle off.
As Dunk gets Daeron up he's confronted by the thing that has been making the wheezing noise is an incredibly weak baby wrapped up in rags.
Daeron begs for them to let him keep his baby. The only one who left his womb whole.
Maybe as a sign of luck from the gods, the storm has stopped and after getting Daeron situated on Sweetfoot they are able to head off.
Knowing that the lord of this area, let's say the Peakes, would most likely either recapture them or kill them Dunk is unsure of where to go and who to trust.
Although it takes them further away from King's landing they are much closer to Dorne and the Daynes. Who would definitely not sell out their own kin.
It takes longer than it should have to get their but:
Daeron is incredibly weak from the torture he went through
They have to travel lesser known roads only occasionally stopping of at tiny villages in the middle of nowhere for the barest supplies they can get / afford
Daerons baby, who he named Maegelle, is very weak and they are not really sure if she will make it but no one says that to Daeron as she seems to be the only thing holding him together.
By the time they get to starfall Maegelle is somehow still alive. Some would say it's a blessing from the seven, but Dunk thinks it's because she loves Daeron so much she couldn't bear to leave him.
Daeron and Eggs uncle sees them and immediately calling for the maesters and demanding the servants get food and rooms prepared.
Dunk is shocked when the Lord of Starfall drops to his knees and thanks Dunk for bringing them here, alive, when all others doubted.
Lord Dayne is very emotional and his voice breaks. That's his little sisters babies, his nephews, how could he be anything but heartbreakingly greatful that Dunk is a man of honor and didn't try to sell them to the highest bidder.
Dunk is offended by that. it never crossed his mind. People in need are people in need; princes or not.
While this is happening Maekar gets a coded message from his good brother telling him to come to Starfall. Knowing what he now knows of Daerons condition Lord Dayne does not know who is in this conspiracy and now believes Summerhall may have sympathises.
Bringing his remaining children with him. Under the guise of a trip to his wifes home land for the anniversary of her death Maekar makes his way to Dorne.
When there Lord Dayne tries to break Daerons condition to his good brother but Maekars hearing none of it.
Where is his boy?
He storms into his room and is frozen in shock. There is Daeron, his first child, the one that took most of Dyannas features. Emaciated (though he looks waayyy better than before) face scarred, missing half an ear, imprints of rope faded, but still there on his neck.
His fingers are crooked, as if snapped and left to heal wrong.
But the thing that feels like someone has stabbed through his heart is the small baby in his sons arms .
Dunk is interrogated by Maekar about what happened and what he found. Dunk explains all he knows and says that Egg took some letters from where they found Daeron.
Maekar is furious at Egg for what he did. Egg says that if he didn't he wouldn't have found Dunk who found Daeron. Maekar begriduanly tells Dunk he's glad it was him an Omega hedge knight who found his son rather than some kind of alpha knight who could have easily rushed to get him back to King's Landing for his prize rather than think of his son and first grandchild's health.
Dunk just awkwardly accepts Maekars praise, red from the sun but also embarrassment at being praised by a member of the royal family.
Maekar leaves the letters to his good brother, which is a surprise to all of the, instead he spends all his time with Daeron. Occasionally letting the others see him but he has had to kick out Aerion for calling his brother 'tainted'.
Rhae is enamoured with Maegelle.
She probably is the one who asks him why Daeron named her that.
Daeron admits he named her after father because he wanted her to be as strong as him.
Rhae says thats soooo cute and gives Maegelle a kiss on the head before running off to play 'climb the giant'. Maekar is just there, eyes wet but refusing to fall.
Daeron then admits that he had another motive for naming her after him. Apparently the kidnappers kept on telling him that everyone had given up on him except his father. Trying to break him by asking him how ashamed his father would be of him, that he was still waiting for his son, who'd now become a whore.
Whenever they came with news from the outside world they always mentioned how desperate Maekar was as an ongoing joke. Saying how weak the Anvil turned out to be if he was worried about losing a drunkard.
Knowing Maekar was waiting for him became his only thing holding him out of trying to kill himself until Maegelle was born. Then he had another reason to live.
At that Maekar just grabs his son into his arms and sobs. Saying how scared he was for Daeron and how proud he is that he held on through all of that.
In the end the room is just filled with the muffled cries of a father and son who had never given up on one another.
All the while Maegelle sleeps soundly in the crib next to them.

The carvings at Abydos arenât modern machines but recarvings over old carvings. Sure they look like them but if you can read hieroglyphs and know that Ramesses II will even usurp the carvings of his own father just to be a little shit

While the Egyptians were fine-ass astronomers they didnât align any of their enormous and/or important buildings to modern star constellations, because constellations look very different now than they did ~5000 years agoÂ
The pyramid is the simplest, sturdiest shape with which to build and many different cultures discovered this in their own time. There were never any weird fish humans/aliens involved
While they had feline deities throughout their history, Egyptians didnât actually worship cats themselves. This was a later Greek/Ptolemaeic addition

Okay another time travel au! But this time with Maekar. He travels all the way to the ending of red grass field (so he is like physically 18-20) after he died. After freaking out a bit when he sees Baelor and sees his young body again, Baelor decides to have them stay a bit longer in camp to give his brother a chance to calm down. This causes Maekar to one night take a walk while contemplating his next move (save his brother, change Aerion, etc) where he overhears 2 young voices on the field. Normally it wouldnât faze him as much and just think itâs just 2 young squires messing around but the name that one of the voices said stopped him in his tracks.
Dunk. Duncan. Ser Duncan the Tall. Aegonâs hedge knight that got roped into his familyâs madness.
Not a knight currently in time but a baby giant on a field filled with corpses.
Long story short, Maekar forcibly adopts him (and Rafe) at first as squires to keep an eye on Dunk but seeing how soft his family is around him makes him acknowledge that he wants to keep him for himself too. Daeron and Aerion will have somebody to help them be good, Aegon will have someone to look up to (and Maekar couldnât bare to separate his baby boy from his hedge knight in any life), Daella and Rhae have another protector, but Dyanna takes the cake. Maekar did not expect that he would be fighting over a not anymore! Hedge knight with his beloved wife and brother and his other squire that bites. Baelor wants Dunk as his squire/sonâs playmate and Dyanna wants to be Dunkâs favorite.
