lovely and darlin are such an underrated duo. bc like, if u think abt it, darlin was probably the first friend lovely made after turning. there was a good year between them dying and meeting the rest of the pack, but sam and vincent were already close. pretty likely that darlin and lovely got pretty close as well in that year because lovely didn’t really have anyone else.

Fred and bright eyes the best characters to ever grace the redactedverse and then some sensitive ass bitches in the fandom didn't know how to just don't watch what they don't like
long story short: bright eyes was a flawed listener, who didn't fit the picture perfect, who did something wrong and ended up in a shitty situation, the fandom didn't like that, attacked erik for it so much so it started getting to him and his mental health so he deleted them and made them into background characters.
short story long because I'll take any chance to talk about them↓
fred and bright are like 2 college aged kids, bright decided that for Halloween,they should go and explore wonderwold,the abandoned amusement park! (aka the solaire clan HQ)
fred is uneasy about going there but bright insists and so they're there
while they're walking around in there, bright tells fred to take a picture of them near i think the collapsed ride (the one Vincent died in) and the ground underneath just collapses under them,fred running over to check on them , also comes down
underneath the park they saw a skull and a bloody mattress (from lovely's kidnapping)
realizing that this is not "tehee old amusement park" and is moreso "murder scene" they get out of the underground room and start rushing out, hearing zipping sounds in the distance
only to be stopped by quinn who attacked fred, bright realizing that they can't do shit to help him since this guy literally showed outta nowhere, they keep running, but Quinn captured them n killed them too
Sam caught him,he turned fred and fought Quinn , making him run away
fred with his new found vampiric powers didn't want his best friend to die and he recklessly turned them (vampires can't turn more than one person at a time that's why sam didn't turn bright,,and newborn vamps can barely handle it and sometimes it kills them,but fred went ahead despite sam's protests and turned bright, all his knowledge about turning from his own that happened not even 5 minutes ago)
so bright eyes is already off to a bad start, because the older and vampire is the stronger they are, and the stronger your maker is the stronger you are as a newborn vamp, and Fred wasn't even 5 minutes old when he turned them
the second episode starts with bright eyes just waking up from their death , oversensitive and with heightened senses from being turned into a vampire and not knowing it yet, they didn't even know vampires existed, and the first thing they are met with is Sam
and instead of Sam understanding the position they are in because of his own history and turning story no, Sam Spence the next 30 minutes scolding, berating, and lecturing them, he went as far as trauma dump on them about his own turning
(mind you this is a kid who woke up from literal death and is feeling everything ramped up to a hundred)
later on as Sam is basically their maker as well (because Fred doesn't know shit to teach them, so Sam basically has two newborn vampires to take care of but he can feel what Fred's feeling but he can't feel what bright is, only fred can do that)
Sam was around 10 years old as a vamp, so he might not have a lot of power when to give to Fred ,but compared to bright fred is a powerhouse now, and it shows
Sam, instead of acknowledging this power and balance between someone who was stand by a 10 years old maker VS someone who was turned by a 5 minute old maker, he makes fun of bright when they're practicing their vampiric speed,and shames them for being slower than fred
again he scolds them about that how this is their fault and Fred is now dead because of them and the entire shindig, because he can feel what Fred is feeling and that makes him upset and he just dumps all that negative emotion at bright
the very last episode we had of bright eyes n fred, they got into a fight, and bright was doing all the screaming at fred
and the fandom didn't like that, they didn't like that the listener wasn't just some weakling who can do no wrong, they didn't like that the listener is actually at fault, they couldn't handle a flawed listener who isn't just perfect
and so they attacked erik constantly and too much to the point that it started playing at his mental health, the existence of their storyline the existence of their videos started playing at erik's mental health so he just scrapped their story off
they are still Canon, they still exist, just in the background and in mention now, they are main characters no longer
