“Aang and katara is weird bcuz she’s like his mom”
Excuse you, but Sokka is obviously the mom friend.
The show literally makes jokes about Katara being like a mom. Sokka literally says that Katara is like his mom.
Katara also literally pretended to be his mom when he was at Fire School.
Yeah lol that didn't make kataang look weird at all. I mean, you can like a ship without blatantly mischaracterizing all the characters. Especially if you're trying to take away Katara's traits and give them to Sokka, of all characters.
To start, I don’t really like Kataang, they’re fine and all but this was about people insisting that Katara is like his mom because she’s bossy sometimes. I prefer the show for its themes of friendship.
I’m aware of Sokka saying Katara was like his mom and I rather think that makes what I said better. Sokka plans their routes, makes food, tells everyone when they’re going to sleep and when they’re getting up, if you prefer to look at that as a commander rather than the ‘mom friend’ that’s fine but I see a lot of affection behind his actions. I think he mimics Katara’s attitude towards him growing up when he’s ordering the group around.
Katara can absolutely have motherly traits without being the mom friend but if you disagree feel free to make your case.
Saying I gave all of Katara’s traits to Sokka in a post with two sentences, neither of which were “Katara’s traits are now Sokka’s” is an overreaction at the least.
And lastly, Katara pretended to be Aang’s mom, that much is true, but she also pretended to be her brother’s wife.
