Intro post

Hi there, I'm Duke, straight(?) he/she/they 19

I've got quite a few things going on with me so I've decided to make an updated intro post to better reflect who I am.

To start out, I'm currently questioning my gender identity. I know that I identify as a male but I'm certain that there's more to it then that. So far I've landed on Salmacian and leaning towards Gender Non-conforming but I'm not completely sure. I'll update this if I ever decide on anything more.

I'm planning on doing some things to experiment with what I like, namely cross dressing and fake breasts. I'm also going to talk to what little friends I think will be comfortable with it, as well as my ex girlfriend. The main problem is that I live in a red state and most of my distant family is Mormon so I have to be careful with who I talk to about all of this.

I'm also "technically" crippled. A little while ago, I found out that I had a tumor growing right next to my brain stem. Thankfully, I was able to get it removed with little issue. It did mean that I needed to go through radiation therapy and also had a few side effects from it's removal, (namely loss of control of half of my face, my sence of balance being functionally reset and slight numbness on half of my body) but none of that is really that much of a problem for me

Currently I'm going to physical therapy, as well as speech therapy to try and get me back to a baseline.

I'm also picking up longboarding, the ukulele and making vocaloid cover songs. Mainly because all of these sound fun, but also since they help with my recovery.

I have a lot of different interests and hyper-fixations which will be pretty clear if you look at my reblogs

As a chronic people-pleaser, this is my advice for success.

Offer as little as possible. Be terse. Get rid of all those exclamation marks and tidbits about why you want to take a sick day. State your needs clearly and concisely without reason. Start saying “No, I’m unable.” more often. Say Thank You only when the other party deserves it.
