GW2 Inktober, Day 8. Metal

so of course Metal Legion comes to mind.  Really hope someday they can do more concert things because this is a very fun series of events or just even sitting there enjoying it, all the hard work going into that event really paid off!

no one but professional trainers has a full team of 6 in the pokemon universe because it would be a fucking gigantic hassle to deal with 6 animals, let alone different types that need different things

some people don’t evolve their pokemon because imagine having a fucking cat and then you can choose to make the cat five times as big and strong. would you do this if you weren’t battling.

Technically if your cat isn’t battling it doesn’t evolve.

That does however give cat owners a strong incentive to not let their cat outside, because realistically any cat that is allowed to roam free is gonna rack up exp until it evolves.

Important to remember:

Do not try to reproduce the pyrotechnics in your home or office.

Please only practice when your neighbors are not likely to be sleeping (if you are a charr IRL this doesn’t matter as much for safety reasons but is still polite).

You can still sing it if you’re not a charr and in fact it’s pretty wicked to watch a five-foot-tall sylvari jump into the pit while screaming the lyrics.

Lady Wisteria is not a safe substitute for the pyrotechnics, but if you put her on a drum she’ll usually stay there and fall asleep.

 ■ The so-called “blood explosion” which punctuates the conclusion of Akira Kurosawa’s 1962 movie Sanjuro remains one of the most memorable and influential special effects in film history. Production designer Yoshiro Muraki would later recall this scene was filmed in a single take. No such effect had ever been attempted before, as movies of the time rarely showed violence with graphic detail. Filled with uncertainty, Muraki worried the blood spray he’d rigged up wouldn’t impress Kurosawa, so he added an extra 30 pounds of pressure to the fluid pump. At the moment the pump was activated, the additional pressure caused the compressor hose attached to actor Tatsuya Nakadai to blow a coupling which created a slight, unintentional delay before the fake blood began to spray, and caused a much larger gush of fluid than planned. It sprayed so powerfully Nakadai claimed it almost lifted him off the ground. His heart sinking, as he believed the delay and over-pressure had ruined the effect, Muraki nervously glanced at director Akira Kurosawa, but Kurosawa only nodded in approval.
