A D&D Campaign Summary Chapter 2 Terrible Travels
Before leaving, the group speaks with the owner of Ol’ Bessie’s Pub & Inn to see if she will come with them. She instead offers to send a letter to her former gang guild in the city of Grey Coin, but warns the party to be careful with their money, as the city is known for counterfeit currency.
The group travels by foot, walking around The Three Sisters lakes and see a large strange statue at the edge of one.
The statue is a tall hooded figure that has no face, but has a pouch full of dust and a scroll at the base. The curious Elf Wizard, inspects the items to find that there are giant spiders with trap doors hunting in the area.
The Dwarf Fighter finds out his new Trident is connected with the water, guiding it to his enemy as he attacks near the lake.
The Drow Rogue who fears spiders cleanly slices one in half with her blade.
The group takes their prizes and wanders off to find camp away from the spider nests and to inspect their treasure.
The Wizard casts Identify on the pouch of sand, and sees a vision of invisibility when it’s tossed overhead.
The group decides who will keep watch at night while the rest sleep, however, a strange drowsiness comes over the group as they all pass out, despite the elves natural resistance to slumber magics.
They all dream together of sitting in a strange dark room where the cloaked figure appears, proposing that they play a little game to entertain him as an exchange for the items they took from his altar.
Each character is then thrust into their greatest nightmares as a test of their mental endurance.
The winners of the first round are The Human Cleric, The Drow Rogue, The Drow Ranger, and The Human Barbarian.
The four then pair up into teams of two and must answer personal questions about the other.
Turns out, they don’t know each other very well at all and it’s a tie. So they all move onto the final round: A Battle Royal.
The Drow Rogue is the quickest, able to hide behind the obstacles the Traveler had dreamt into the arena they fought in and get sneak attacks on all her new allies, killing them one by one while they attacked each other.
The group then awakes, the Drow Rogue now with a strange dagger made of a multi-colored rainbow, like an oil slick.
In the morning, the group continues on to Grey Coin where they do some shopping and head to the Rotten Mongoose Tavern where they are to meet with an escort.
Outside of the tavern are a variety of that collect coin for performances. The Elf Ranger, unused to seeing such things, is fascinated by the Mime with flaming red hear, appearing to be trapped in an invisible box.
The Drow Rogue drags him away and into the pub where they find out, using Theive’s Cant, that the Mime is supposed to be their guide, they simply need to pay him 2 Gold.
The group then meets with the Mime Bard who points them towards the Ashen Forest where they will search for the next Elemental Portal.
