shang qinghua and shen qingqiu are on the elevator to the parking lot after they have decided to buy christmas gifts together. out of nowhere, shang qinghua makes a weird sound similar to a quiet shriek, startling shen qingqiu. apparently, he has forgotten to get his car keys.
"i'm gonna go get my keys!" shang qinghua pushes shen qingqiu outside the elevator to quickly push the buttons again. he immediately goes back up after arriving to the parking lot, leaving shen qingqiu to go to the car first.
shang qinghua does not really want shen qingqiu to find out that his car keys are in his neighbor's (mobei jun's) apartment, and not in his. besides, shen qingqiu is not that considerate to accompany his bro back up.
not that he has a secret to hide, no. that is not the case. that is absolutely not real. the thing is, mobei jun has borrowed his car yesterday and forgot to give the keys back. shang qinghua feels his legs wobble the tiniest bit while remembering last night's event. he does not even register mobei jun opening the door, his brain cannot even process how he instinctively enters the apartment. shang qinghua can simply tell him what he needs without having to go inside the big guy's territory, right?
"my keys," he remembers saying.
mobei jun pulls him in, his eyes trained on shang qinghua's face.
that's not really important. everything is a blur in shang qinghua's mind at the moment. right now, they are having a full blown make-out session and shang qinghua is going insane.
mobei jun has misunderstood shang qinghua's words. or has he? shang qinghua has asked for a kiss, and who is mobei jun to decline?
another probable thing is that mobei jun's ears purposely choose to hear what they want to hear. that happens sometimes, especially when he has a very bullyable hamster boyfriend.
okay. so maybe shang qinghua is dating mobei jun. no one else knows but them. yet. but he does not really care much, when all that shang qinghua wants is already in front of him. he will deal with shen qingqiu later. that guy is completely erased from his mind.
this is also true at the very present, as shang qinghua has forgotten that he is only supposed to retrieve his car keys.
he reluctantly pulls away from mobei jun, who clearly shows his disapproval. mobei jun lets him go, regardless of his initial reaction, and waits for shang qinghua to explain himself.
it takes shang qinghua quite a while as he has also made sure that he looks presentable when he goes back out. he does not want any taunts from shen qingqiu so early in the morning (it is already late afternoon).
"bro, what took you so long? did you get the keys from mobei jun?" interrogating is of course the first thing that shen qingqiu does.
except shang qinghua does not process all of the words that shen qingqiu has said. "what are you talking about? i dont know what you're talking about, cucumber bro," he dodges, blushing.
shen qingqiu looks puzzled at the averting eyes, finding this extremely strange. "what? didn't u go for the keys?"
shang qinghua ignores him and enters the car, starting the engine way before shen qingqiu opens the door to the shotgun seat.
meanwhile, in shang qinghua's brain, he has heard shen qingqiu say, "took you long enough to get the kiss from mobei jun." he has tuned out long after shen qingqiu's second sentence. thankfully, they arrive to the shopping center without any accidents.
he really should not have left his keys at mobei jun's.
except... it's not so bad since he got his keys plus a long kiss from his hot neighbor. maybe shang qinghua is going to do it again later, after all.
alternate universe where ash successfully arrives at the airport after reading eiji's letter. he eventually accepts that he has made sure that all of his enemies can never bother any of them again: golzine falling to his demise, fox shot in the head, sing's former gang members tossed to the side, yut-lung finally opening his eyes...
thanks to their friends' help, eiji flies back to japan together with ash (and ibe, of course), although ibe leaves them alone after landing in said country. ash and eiji stay in tokyo for a few days, eiji trying new things and going to unfamiliar places in the capital with ash. after they are done, they go to eiji's hometown, where eiji tours ash and presents him to his family. as he has predicted, his little sister jokingly faints when she sees a blond guy with her brother. ash laughs it off, while eiji shakes his head and looks at ash as if saying, "i told you so."
while eiji's mother cooks them dinner, eiji's sister asks ash everything she is able to with her limited english, and ash takes in every single thing that the family offers him. at the end of the day, eiji invites ash to his room and proposes to lay on the floor so that ash can take his futon. when ash refuses, eiji dejectedly says he can go to the living room and sleep on the couch instead. initially, eiji has wanted to sleep in the same space as ash, the same way they have always been resting back in america, but if the latter is against the idea, then eiji will not force himself.
"onii-chan, i thought you wanted to protect this fragile little body of mine," ash pouts, his eyes glistening in a way that makes eiji want to give in even though eiji knows ash is playing with him. "won't you sleep here with me to make sure i'm not in any danger?" to convince eiji even more, he shyly looks away and tries to appear scared.
ash's lips are protruded and its colors can never be outshined by any star in the night sky. his hair is covering a tiny portion of his eyes, so eiji raises his hand to brush it and to put it behind his ear. ash's cheeks blush the teeniest bit, and eiji cannot help the giggle escaping from his mouth.
"the futon is small, ash, and we can't really share it the way we can share a bed," he says. eiji tries to catch ash's view, except the other is busy thinking of a reason to make eiji room with him.
after a few seconds, ash daringly meets his gaze. "lay on top of me, then."
and it is eiji's turn to have his face turn a shade of red, averting his eyes when ash raises a brow.
he means it, though. ash wants eiji to be the last person he sees before he dozes off, and he also wants eiji to be the one greeting his sight first thing in the morning. he will do absolutely anything to convince eiji to stay in the room with him.
either way, regardless of what they decide on tonight, they never have to say "sayonara" to each other ever again.
quanyin are childhood best friends turned enemies after yy leaves their school and comes back to qyz's life as the captain of the competing school's ice hockey team. qyz is happy to see his ge again even though he can be perceived as an "enemy", but yy is not a bit glad, rather treating him like a stranger. the worst comes when yy's team loses the game and he ends up hating qyz, completely ignoring the latter when he comes running for a hug.
yy leaves without even talking to qyz, not a single glance after their lose. qyz forces himself to understand his ge's feelings even though qyz himself is having a hard time to control his tears.
they meet each other again at an ice hockey arena, although everything is much more awful than their game as yy acts as if qyz is invisible despite the fact that qyz's seat is only two rows below him. it hurts qyz, so much so that he ends up leaving in the middle of the match to not cry in the bleachers. he cannot accept it. he cannot endure yy not paying him any attention.
and so, qyz decides to finally confront his ge when they meet again. not now, tho. he looks like a pig with puffy eyes and puffy face, his nose red and dirty with snot. he is a mess.
but the moment they meet again, qyz sees red.
walking in front of qyz is yy, with a leech hanging around his shoulder. the guy beside yy is looking at his ge with his stupid eyes and stupid grin that qyz wants to punch and punch and punch. he is leaning his head on yy's right shoulder while one hand is on yy's left shoulder.
qyz's breathing constricts as he tries to control his emotions. without wasting time, qyz comes rushing to them, abruptly stopping when yy meets his eyes. qyz's heartbeat doubles because of his sudden big steps, because he wants to fight, and because yy has not yet looked away, keeping his pupils on qyz.
qyz is the one to break the eye contact with difficulty, turning his gaze to the leech who is now frowning at him. qyz frowns back and inspects yy's hands. when he is sure yy's hands are free, he snatches it and pulls yy to run away with him.
the parasite shouts and tries to follow them, so qyz starts speeding up while yy questions him.
"you can't be with him," qyz cuts whatever yy is saying.
yy huffs, "don't tell me what i should and shouldn't do, asshole." although he does not stop running nor does he remove qyz's grip.
when qyz is sure that no one is following them anymore, that they are safe and that yy won't run away, he lets go and faces his ge, his head bowed, refusing to even glance at yy. his hands tremble as they slowly reach for yy's fingers. “please give me a chance...”
yy is quiet for a moment before whispering, "what chance?"
little by little, qyz raises his head. he stares at yy with pleading eyes, not saying anything. and even though they have not talked for years, even though qyz has not said anything, everything is still the same. yy can read qyz, so he knows without the need of confession.
“i don’t feel the same way towards you, yizhen.” he admits softly.
established wangxian out on a date and every time someone praises wwx’s looks, lwj’s face gets sour and sour. he does not say anything for the sake of peace (his mind was not peaceful), but the thirteenth time a girl stops to comment, “you’re so handsome, wei wuxian! want to come with us hunt tomorrow?” lwj losses it.
the girl completely ignores lwj’s side and her full attention is on wwx, who just smiles brightly, by the way. before wwx could even decline, lwj does it for him. “wei ying can’t accompany you as he will be busy with me.”
wwx’s eyes widen just a little bit, fixated on lwj. then, his smile turns quirky whereas the lady leaves quietly. lwj turns a blind eye to the stare and continues on their path. wwx does not say anything. lwj does not either. but the former is content while the latter is not.
they reach cloud recesses with a few small talks, yet the whole thing is still in the brilliant mind of the almighty hanguang-jun. finally, before entering the jingshi, lwj whispers, “wei ying is so good-looking, i cannot do anything.” in a monotonous manner. he speaks in such a low voice that no one but himself will be able to hear him, except of course, the sharp ears of his wwx.
wwx sighs with exaggeration deep in his mind, and although he is quite glad to have seen lwj jealous, he understands that it is not a good emotion to feel. so with a gentle tone he says, “lan zhan is the most attractive person i know, hence my eyes will always be on him and on no one else.”
lwj’s lips are protruded just the slightest bit, which makes wwx beam before they are covered by the latter’s mouth. those pouty spoiled lips move to respond to the stimulus, and as they part, the pout is already erased and lwj is back to his poker face (based on lxc’s dictionary, that is lwj’s dazed face while according to wwx, that is lwj lost in lust (lxc must never find this out)).
established moshang where mbj gives sqh home slippers as a gift for christmas. sqh jumps for joy seeing the soft hamster design, then he rushes to hug mbj. after calming down, the message of the gift registers in his mind, abruptly pushing mbj to face him. "why are you giving me slippers? do you want me to walk away from you?" sqh asks with a pout, tears slowly forming around his eyes.
the corners of mbj's lips lift slightly, booping sqh's nose as he shakes his head. "that is to welcome you to my home, stupid hamster." mbj responds, to which sqh frowns. mbj raises his eyebrow, entertained, "i knew you would say that... and that is why i also bought you this," handing sqh a different box.
mbj hugs his boyfriend on the side when sqh gets ahold of the gift, carefully watching sqh's reaction as he unwraps it. then, with wide eyes sqh asks, "sneaker shoes?"
mbj nods, a gentle gaze on sqh, "for you to run back to me when you need to walk away for a while."
imagine fengqing with fx pining for mq but actually, he's not? he knows he likes mq and he wants mq to feel the same but obviously, fx will never admit that. so instead, he does everything in his power to make mq jealous and make him confess first. because clearly, he feels the same, right? right?? they are together everyday! they talk and interact every hour, so mq likely admires fx, too. fx is confident in his looks. mq must like him. surely, the feeling is mutual.
so when one day, fx is flirting with a random girl and mq suddenly gets up to leave after rolling his eyes, fx presumes it is the time. he stands up and jogs to follow mq. with a smirk on his face he asks, "hey, where are you going?"
mq raises an eyebrow before looking right at fx's eyes, "i'm going to look for some shit, because right now i don't have any to give about your charades."
jaw dropped, fx is left staring at mq's back as the latter walks away.
fx angrily shouts endless curses at the air, despite knowing that mq can probably not hear him anymore.
